I've known about Blood type diet since the first book was published and went along with the Type A recommendations sporadically. Then, this Spring I had pneumonia, took antibiotics, and had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin. Itched like fire; got prednisone and it cleared up before I finished the protocol(I usually finish it all, but I was already clearing up and haven't broken out since(two and a half weeks ago.) Anyway, I now have stomach problems I suspect caused by candida(killing off all the bacterial indiscriminately). Am following Genotype Teacher and the indigestion is easing off. Last night, my hubby and I ate with friends and she served beef, potatoes, white flour rolls, peas, and coleslaw. I suffered this morning with an acid stomach and am determined to stick with the protocol. I think he is a genius, too; someday the rest of the medical community will as well.

You are such an amazing doctor, Dr. D'Adamo.  I easily would have ruined my own life if it wasn't for your books.  I was a vegan in my 20s, just barely got well in my 30s.  Now having learned that I am a Hunter the jig is up.  I should have read Genotype right away and didn't-- wasn't eating enough red meat, just couldn't pull it together.  It is now clear to me that I would have continued to undereat and lose muscle mass if I hadn't been prompted to check in.  Also, I let myself have pizza one day at work 3 years ago and that was it... a habit was born.  Not just the vanity aspect, the mood swings and irritation with just one serving a week were off the chart-- I was driving myself crazy!  I've barely worked since my relapse and was called anorexic at work last year, really hurt my feelings along with all the ageism stuff.  Your book explains it, thank you.

no cravings. My Naturapath recommended the diet for my type. Its been a blessing, lost 36 lbs., lots of lymph fluid, lowered BP, less tummy troubles, and no cravings. How much better can it get.

Thank you for this site and for this wonderful eating plan!  While following your plan I have discovered at the ripe old age of 52 that I am gluten / wheat intolerant.  My whole life I had "digestive" issues and always said I had a sensitive stomach and never knew what set me off!  I carried pepto bismol tablets with me always and scoped out the bathrooms everywhere I went just in case!  As a type O my plan states that I should avoid wheat so I did and switched to rye.  After about a week my family decided to have pizza, yay, pizza!  I had two pieces and a bread stick and started feeling sick just after I finished and was sick all night long.  The culprit.  The crust and the bread!  I am happy to say when I avoid wheat that I feel so much better!  My energy is up and I have lost about 15 pounds to date.  Thank you, Dr. D'Adamo, you have made my life so much better!

I am still amazed that eating differently can make such a big difference in a persons life. It has improved my life in so many ways, but today I wanted to highlight one specific area, namely my menstrual period.

Pre GTD: in bed for two days not being able to move from pain. Taking 8 ibuprofen 400mg in 4 hours time did nothing for me, no relief whatsoever. At a certain point I just didn't even take them anymore. Did not feel like stuffing my body with chemicals that made no difference.

Now: some slight discomfort but nothing so bad that I 1. can't handle it, and 2 would stay home because of it. And if it gets a bit too much, I just take one ibuprofen and it gets me through the day. Most of the times I just need 1 at the beginning.

Pre GTD: I used to bleed so bad for four days that I felt I had to have some extra blood. It was horrible, I'll spare everyone the details, just take it from me, together with the excrutiating pain it's a miracle I didn't kill anyone and gotten away with an insanity defence.

Now: less then two day, I think about 36 hours I have a heavier flow. But nothing so bad I need to refresh every hour (as I did pre GTD). I think it's normal now.

I just find it amazing and I am so happy I changed from BTD to GTD. It's much better for me and I can feel my body healing on a much deeper level then with BTD.

So Dr. D, you have another very satisfied customer here.

Thank you, Dr. D'Adamo.

When I was 14, in the middle of a pasta dinner, I put my fork down and with tears in my eyes told my family, "I feel sick every time I eat."  At 16, I was fairly overweight. While watching a family video of my brother and myself cliff jumping at Lake Mojave, someone asked which person I was on the screen. My dad replied, "Cant you tell? He's the one with the big belly."  This moved me to start the Aktins Diet, with which I lost 20 lbs and felt like Superman, eating mostly steak, chicken, eggs, broccoli and zucchini (go figure, I'm type O).
At 18, my sister gave me your book, Eat Right 4 Your Type. It took almost 3 years to implement completely.  I no longer felt sick when I ate. The foods that I knew I could not even smell were listed as avoids (canteloupe, eggplant, wheat, dairy, strawberries, cashews).
Then in August of 2010 after being on the Blood type diet for about 3 years, I decided to try to slowly reintroduce wheat into my diet.  The week long stomach pain was gone, but the hair falling out, weight gain, ingrown hairs, acne and depression came back. In December of last year (2010) I found your Genotype Diet book.  As of January, I have been on that diet 100%, lost the 16 lbs regained from reintroducing wheat into my diet in 6 weeks, and have NO physical problems at all.
This diet has moved me to try new things which have become my favorite foods, like buckwheat hot cereal, Taro, and duck. Just because I do not eat the five non-meat/sugar staples (wheat, corn, dairy, potato, soy) of the Standard American Diet which is abbreviated SAD for good reason, does not mean that I am limited. I have a world of new things to find and try that otherwise I probably would never have heard of, or would have been afraid to try in case they made me sick.  In short, I cannot thank you, your father, or your team enough for helping me make myself well after over 20 years of physical and emotional pain because of my health.

"Thank You, Dr. D'Adamo".

I started with the Blood Type Diet in 1996. Had mixed results simply because I did not know I was a non secretor and kept trying the diet as is.
I was in such bad shape even good quality supplements were too much for me - my body was in rejection mode.
Finally got on line and found a legitimately educated Naturopath. One of two in this state at that time and she was close by. Her diagnosis was food allergies and we started treatments. My life changed! I could now eat and was getting the benefit of the foods I was eating!
The next few years were spent improving my body's acceptance of quality food then we hit a wall where I was not improving as expected. (During these years, without support for it, I had left the diet.) One day, out of the blue, Doc. casually mentioned Dr D'Adamo's diet and wondered if it would help. That was all the encouragement I needed!
I went right back to it and then found the Genotype Diet had come out. The BTD had expanded, I had to do the secretor test! I was a Nonnie! Now everything began to make sense.
The Non Secretor Diet helped but I still had problems! The Genotype Diet labled me a Gatherer - So, guess what, this diet works, I started losing weight. But I didn't need to lose weight. I tried to get help, everyone said to eat more. I tried to eat as well as I could.
When the Swami Express came available. I was among the first. What a Godsend! It took all of my idiosyncrises into consideration and I became an Explorer. Books are limited to their content. An online program can take in so much more information before it makes it's diagnosis. Swami Express is the best, Dr. D'Adamo, thank you so much

Lola, I too, tried to go back to wheat. About a week after I had truly eliminated wheat from my diet I thought maybe I would just finish up those wheat crackers I used to love for a bedtime snack. I did, and within a half hour I was climbing the walls! Had no idea that wheat had been bothering my nervous system so much. Never again! Swami Express took every bit of wheat off my diet. I never could eat much of them but I did like buckwheat pancakes. Oh Well, other than the weight problem, I am feeling good. And that is important!

Always check ingredients. I was looking for a vitamin C powder & had to email the co. to ask the source. All they listed was ascorbic acid. Corn based. I am a B type, so, I won't be ordering that. I was not even aware of vitamin C being made from corn. I have found that if I cheat & eat chicken or corn that my blood pressure & blood sugar raises within 45 minutes. I have quit being nice & eating foods just because they are being served. I am nice to myself now! I love Dr D'Adamo's lists of herbs, oils, & etc. Really helpful.

Dr. D'Adamo, I just want to thank you so very much for all your work and your books. When I first heard about the idea of eating based on blood type I thought that it was a crazy idea. Many years later experiencing some health problems I went to see a doctor who had me buy ERYT. After reading the chapter about Type O, me being O+, I really made sense. I have been using this info for the past 3 years now and I'm feeling young again. I tell people this is the first book they should read if they want to experience better health. Thanks again.

Bless you ! Not only have you vastly improved my immune system and some health problems, but also completely changed the lives of several other people that I know. One a type A who did not realize that milk was the source of her terrible IBS and arthritis, and her husband, type O, who cured himself of snoring and breathing problems to the great benefit of their marriage ! I will keep on recommending friends and family to read your books and I think that this science is the way forward for the future of the human race. It has even helped me to understand my husband better (he is type O), as I am a B and I know at last why we have different likes and needs and I vary our meals accordingly to suit our different types.

The blood type diet saved my life and I feel better than ever, I lost 80 lbs and my recovery ability is amazing. I had shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum and bicep tendon and both the surgeon and physical therapist said they have never seen such a fast recovery.

Amazing things happen with this way of eating... Dr. D'Adamo is my hero! " I've lost over 200 pounds combined when I lost the weight twice from your book Eat right 4 your type. You have really inspired me. Especially since I've had Multiple Sclerosis for 12 years. I've found my CURE by following your diet for type A."

It never ceases to amaze me how many medical / health professionals (or the general public) don't seem to make the connection with diet and the fact that we are unique. This immediately suggests to me that either the person doesn't have that much of an interest in food (that is beyond their own satisfaction of eating), and / or, hasn't made a connection that food is medicine.

I absolutely love the Bloodtype eating plan. It has worked out well for my family of Type O's though giving up wheat, corn and milk was an intitial challenge for sure. My daughter has struggled the most with her allergies and weight. Wouldn't you know that she is the only Non-Secretor in the bunch? And my sister, who always ate differently than us (she is a Vegan) turned out to be a Blood Type A. The Eat Right 4 Your Type "app" is great for shopping and restaurants!

When I first started eating steaks, I bought a grain fed cow, which I later found out that it was a dairy, grass fed cow. They are the worst type of meat to eat. I later found an other farmer... and tried the meat before I purchased it and it was completely different. I was a 33 yr vegetarian who was directed by my Naturopath to eat meat every morning for breakfast, which changed my life. I know that if I don't eat my read meat now, I get depressed since my body needs the B12 from it. My blood cells were literally dying before I started eating the red meat and only after one month they were healthy and back to normal and thriving. I had to choke down the red meat and tried everything to make t taste good. and I am glad I did. I still have days where I don't like to eat it but then it depends on where I am getting it. Good luck and don't give up. Try to marinade it before cooking which can give it some awesome flavoring as well. Or if you can, eat jerky. I have a processor who makes the jerky without the vinegar and corn alternatives and is wonderful to eat.
