What an inspiration you are! You did the work and you and baby are reaping the rewards. Well done! It's amazing that you got over toxemia, I've never heard of it reversing. Also thought that diabetes in pregnancy gets worse. Also losing weight during early pregnancy. It's like a miracle! Did you move out to the country for your health? Sounds like you realised what was important in your life (your health) and dedicated yourself to improving it. Great move. Best of luck with the birth and we're hanging to hear the good news! |

Goldi- I'll let him know! I just went for a long walk... did some light jump jacks while I was at it too! lol He seems pretty happy in there though.
Symbi - Thank you! I didn't actually end up getting toxemia but the Dr was really concerned that I would end up getting it with the high blood pressure and the protein in my urine samples. With following my BTD it totally corrected it before toxemia was even an issue at all. I have steadily lost weight through my pregnancy. Which for anyone might sound crazy but I've always had more than enough extra weight, so losing is a really really good thing. I moved north to house sit for my parents in October and kept feeling more and more ill. I thought I had my ovarian cancer back and that I was going to just end up dying here at home. lol I shouldn't laugh but I'm easily amused. Anyways, I found out that I was 4 months pregnant, further pregnant than I'd ever been and after having 9 miscarriages already... getting past the first trimester was the amazing and meant that I was finally going to have a baby! Wow! I'll keep everyone on here posted. I'll put up a pic as soon as I have one. How do I post a pic at the bottom of my posts like you??? |

And that is why I want my mom to start BTD. See if I can get her of her type 2 diabetes. I already gave her my GTD book to read. |

all you need is to download the picture in a host site, like photo-bucket or other.... then copy paste the address of the picture in between the picture banquettes. |

Thanks for the reply! You're doing really well and are so calm. You've had such a good pregnancy you're going to have a good birth, too. Are you are getting the nesting instinct. Cleaning the house and such? "Yeah I'm kinda busy having a baby at the moment to post pictures on the internet right now" What a long road to get here, you deserve the best! |

Before I started the BTD I would eat a meal and two hours later my blood sugar would be as high as 13.4 Dangerously high! As it's supposed to be between 5-10 for diabetics or 5-8 for normal people. My fasting blood glucose before a meal would be at the lowest 7.9. When normal is 4-7 for diabetics or 4-6 for normal people.
Two hours after eating now each time my blood sugar has been 6.4, 7.1 and 6.8. Totally normal!
My fasting blood sugar level before eating now has been 6.2, 5.8 and 6.1. Totally normal!
VERY VERY EXCITING!!! I have to note that I have been at least 80% compliant with my BTD. Maybe more, but this is because I have been extremely strict about what I eat. I say only 80% because you never know about the hidden things in some foods.
Just want to say that it is very helpful to have Canadian input, as you apparently use the same measuring system that we do in Australia, quite a different figure to the U.S. numbers. Also, please refresh me about the two hour test. Do you take that as 2 hours from beginning to eat the meal, or 2 hours from the last bite of that meal? I have never done this test, as I seem to have my hands and fingers full with premeal and end of day testing, and sometimes I seem to run out of fingers that want to be stabbed. ps from your silence I assume you are in labour? I'm sure I speak for all of us in sending our loving greetings. Jenny |

Nope not in labor, just getting a bit of sleep in preparation. With testing two hours after, it's 2 hours after your last bite of that meal. In my mind the only two tests you should be taking in terms of diabetes are your blood tests before and two hours after a meal. These are the two that give you the best gauge of how your body is coping with the foods you are eating. I thought that the US numbers and Canadian were the same. Any Americans in here that can confirm this?
Symbi- I did the whole nesting this a few times already. lol Or atleast something that seemed a lot like nesting, over the past couple weeks. I'm just playing the waiting game now and trying to get enough sleep. I am also studying stuff connected with BTD/GTD. |

American numbers are different- 90-110 normal for diabetic up up to 40pts 2 hrs after a meal, below 70 is low blood sugar and needs carbs to raise it. 250+ No exercise until lower, eat some protein/fat to help lower quicker, below 200 light exercise, like walking. |

Best wishes Christa - Can't wait to see pics of that handsome lil guy.

Another important time to test is upon waking. It can tell you a lot about what is happening to your body overnight. IMO, it's equally as decisive as the before and after tests. |
