hi all i just read a post by mrs g about withdrawral symptomsi to am suffering quite badly having gone in head first to all beneficials.i feel physically ill, flare up of arthritic and other symptoms, after feeling great 4 a while. and also symtoms of previous health complaints come back 2 beat me up as well. just for good measure detox effects of previous used meds and withdrawral of cutting back on recent ones too and just to finish off a really helpfull boyfriend who's made the really wonderful observation that i'm getting worse. yes i know! but i also know the amount of toxins in my body that drs have put me on "to help me" will make me feel like death coming out, and also old complaints long forgotten, minor or major, will jump on the cleansing and healing roller coaster ride as well. and i'm fed up of exsplaining this to the b....y half wit!  "when you feel like hell you know its working" is my mantra at the moment. i am also aware the more poison either in your body and enviroment, the longer and harder it will hit you. also emotions past and present jump out and bite me on the butt too. i'm sure there are other btd's who are more well informed on these sort of physical and mental see saws, that went through hell to get to heaven, can reassure us new b's that some have a quick turn about, but for others the path will be longer and our suffering hard. but in the end its all worth it

Star, Welcome.
What foods are you eating?

Youíre braver than me.  I was a toe dipper before totally jumping in.  But Iíve experienced other detoxs before like cigarettes.  They are not fun.  Iím glad you didnít get discouraged from it.  I fear many people give up before experiencing the real benefits.

How long have you been on the diet?

Once you get through this, you should consider getting your secretor status checked.

Hi! Mrs Ge here. I have just read your post and am so with you on it all. I felt great the first week and then went rapidly down hill. I wish I hadn't done it all at once but now I have I am just getting on with it. As you say, lots of old problems rearing their heads. I have just been drinking loads of clean water, grean tea and started taking some charcoal tablets too. I think I am improving a bit. It is weird as in myself I feel fine - just tired and some niggly detox issues. Sticking with it though as if I am going to feel, after this detox, like I did the first week, I am going to be a very happy lady! My husband is very tolerant of all this stuff and knows it gets worse before it gets better.

Stick with it and yes, like you, would be good to hear others detox stories.

I found out my secretor test results too today and I am a nonnie - which explains a lot in itself - so loads to learn. I wish I had know about all this a long time ago though - my life would have been very different.

Good luck to you and keep us posted.

I found quite by accident that peppermint tea helps me with these detox symptoms.  I feel a little better after drinking some.

Hi Star, I'm glad you are getting your secretor status tested, because there can be some important changes if you turn out to be a non-secretor.  And especially if you want to go at it 100%, you can be sure that you're eating the right diet.

I suggest you get some of the best quality sea salt that you can find, and put a few grains of it in all the water you drink.  You could be washing out electrolytes by drinking such a large quantity of water.  I remember something about 1/2 cup at a time is all our bodies can absorb at a time, otherwise it just goes in one end and out the other.

You're in good company here, and you seem to have the determination to make it through the transition.  This is the hardest part.  It gets better from here on out!

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.

of some rare and perfect tomorrow.

Star whose B type vits, minerals, calcium, and some others, are you taking? It is possible to react (depending on your secretor status) to some of the coatings, ingredients - or even forms of some supps...

For example I reacted big time to a detox I was doing, & worked out that I am allergic to a couple of the ingredients - the red algae & one other thing...

Also, Vit C if "orange based" for another, is often derived from corn...

In the Eat Right Book Dr. D talks about the Membrane Fluidizer Cocktail for B's designed with a built-in immune and nervous-system booster.  He recommends it every morning.  B's need to find balance.   I hope that this will help.

1 tablespoon flaxseed oil (organic if possible-when you buy it make sure it comes from the refrigerated section of a Health Food Store)
1 tablespoon high quality lecithin granules (not GMO-NOW brand makes a good kind which I also find in the refridgerated section of my Health Food Store)
and 6 to 8 ounces of compliant fruit juice
Shake and drink.

Yep...and I am with the secretor status testing also.

I remember when I started I got some pretty heavy reactions and I didn't go cold turkey, but wanted to be compliant as fast as possible. I've now been getting more compliant again and I have some withdrawal symptoms as well, like a light headache and things like that. So, your symptoms are not surprising.

I agree on getting the secretor status. It can mean you are eating things that are avoids while you think they are neutral.
