I have to tell y'all about dinner tonight. I made turkey thighs in the crockpot and made gravy on the side (ghee, tapioca starch, salt, poultry seasoning, turkey broth). We also had butter beans, steamed broccoli, mashed butternut squash and cobbler (which we're not talking about because I'm trying to distract myself so I won't go in there and gobble it up while the children rave about it). *Ahem.* But here's a testimony about ABs and dark turkey meat. As we sat there eating, Elizabeth suddenly leaped up from her chair and danced around the kitchen. I looked at her funny and she practically sang, "I love turkey! It makes me feeeeeeel so good! It gives me energy! Watch this!" She danced around in circles and then said, "It gives me so much energy I could go run up that hill!" She pointed in the direction of a very steep, wooded hill across the creek (unfortunately somebody else's property, but it is for sale). Finally she came back and sat down and sighed, "Oh, Mama, can you make turkey like this every night?" Why, sure, sweetheart. I'll do anything to get a response like that. |

I understand how Elizabeth feels...I'm an AB dark meat turkey fan also! Thank you Dr. D for introducing me to this food and many others. I'll never forget page 294 in Live Right For Your Type...that's where I learned about dark meat turkey and AB's. |

It was just so funny! Now, before you go giving me a lot of credit, Isa, you have to know that most meals she considers just so-so. Personally, I could take it or leave it. Turkey is beneficial for me on SWAMI, and I eat it almost daily, but it certainly doesn't make me dance around the kitchen and want to run up steep hills! |

It seems that the A's and O's that I know like white meat turkey and the B's and AB's prefer the dark. Anyone else notice this? Maybe O's like the white meat because it feels more substantial and full of protein. The dark meat seems to be filled with the amino acids. Does dark meat turkey have Nitric Oxide, too? What foods have nitric oxide? |

I way prefer dark but not the sinewy bits... they taste nicer but are harder work... I buy a part of the leg ( called drummettes) that still has darkish meat but no sinews (must be further up the leg ) White turkey meat I can't tell from chicken... |

I usually only eat the dark meat turkey... It has more flavor and probably different vitamin/mineral/amino acid content... It sometimes feel really good, too - I just don't get up and dance...
That works out well because WW and DD are both A, and they only eat white turkey...
I used to think that the white meat was always dry, but realized that it is overcooked when it is like sawdust. It is drier than dark meat from the same bird, though. |

Found this in Dr. D's e-newsletter. It says that garlic has nitrous oxide. Dark ground turkey cooked with garlic sounds like what I need tonight. I need more nitrous oxide. What is the supplement from NAP?
Type AB
* Don’t overdo grains and avoid wheat. * Garlic is super beneficial for type AB because of its ability to reduce excess blood clotting factors and because it’s a good source of the amino acid citrulline, a potential precursor to nitric oxide metabolism. * Make breakfast your most important protein-rich meal of the day and vary your meal sizes, big breakfast, medium lunch, small dinner |

Ribbit, knowing that the turkey is good for her and seeing her reaction is what we in Canada call a twofer. A moment to be treasured!
That's great!! Didn't I read somewhere that turkey naturally makes you sleepy & relaxed?? Must've misread... Ah now I recall it was happy & relaxed....
Usually turkey sandwiches.
Quoted from Pushing Daisies Episode 1.2 Dummies
Chuck: I have so many questions, my mind wanders!
Ned: You need to feed it warm milk and a turkey sandwich, let it curl up in a sunny spot and take a nap.
It will be better for most without the bread, the margarine, and the milk. Sleepy post thanksgiving-dinner naps are mainly the result of pouring on the gravy, and stuffing yourself with stuffing. btw is there a recipe for quinoa stuffing? |

Hey, no need to wait. It's a good side dish for turkey anytime. I'd make it more often if somebody besides myself would eat it. Sometimes for a variation with the same flavor, I'll make a pot of brown and/or wild rice. While it's cooking, I saute onion, celery and poultry seasoning in plenty of ghee. When it's all ready, I mix it together and salt to taste. |

When I was growing up and we attended large family gatherings on my “O” Mom’s side, my “AB” Dad and “B” me always got the dark meat turkey legs. Everyone else fought over the white meat. My “B” son also prefers the dark meat. |
