I just started the BTD for type O's exactly one week ago today... and I am excited to report that I've already lost 3 pounds. My energy level has also improved greatly.

I also started supplementing with bladderwrack today, as well as kelp for iodine (ascophyllum nodosum) and a super B complex. I read in the book, ER4YT, that Dr. D'Adamo does not recommend iodine supplementation, but I had a hunch that iodine might be the key to getting my body temperature back to "normal" (it has run anywhere from 96.1 - 97.5 for 4-5 years now... I'd become very "cold-natured," and it seemed unusual for me). Within 4 hours of taking my first kelp capsule, my temp is now at 98.7. It is rainy and about 55 degrees outside, and I am not wearing a sweater.    I will continue to monitor for the next few days.

I am eating no wheat (not even the sprouted breads right now), no corn, and no dairy products, and otherwise sticking with the Highly Beneficial and Neutral foods. This hasn't been a hardship for me, as I've experimented a lot with diet over the past few years. And I'd already been making a few intuitively "right" HB food choices for me (blueberries, cherries, pumpkin seeds, walnuts). I was actually vegetarian for about 15 years, and was vegan for 3 years during that time. But most lately, at 228 pounds (I am 5'4", mesomorphic female, large frame), no energy, in muscle and joint pain most of the time, and chronic diarrhea, it finally sunk home that "trying to be healthy," or what I thought of as healthy, was not working. I had breast reduction surgery back in January, and lost 8 pounds of tissue from that surgery... and promptly gained that 8 pounds back. I was at my wit's end. A few months ago, a friend of mine told me of a friend of hers who has had good success on the BTD and suggested I give it a try. I guess I had to get more miserable first.

I am so encouraged by this early progress! Just wanted to share that the BTD is really working for me so far.

Bright blessings, all!

I find I'm not "hungry" so much as just craving meat!

Hi Silverseale!

Thankyou so much in advance for raising your recent "cold-natured"ness
I also seem to suffer this way (although I have not been taking my temperature on a regular basis to prove it) - I am always cold at temperatures others find comfortable, which is always a problem in a shared office!

I think I will try the kelp/iodine solution to see if it fits me too.

I had never thought that I could take a supplement to help me with this problem, so thank you for raising it

I am getting out and walking the dog a lot, that's about all I can handle right now. I have tried to jog, but I don't want to mess up my knees. I am making sure to get my heart rate up while I am walking. The dog, of course, is loving every minute of it.

Ditto for me.  I have just gone to Dr. because I thought I had adrenal fatigue.  Been feeling unusually cold this past winter, I live in Hawaii!  Will have to start taking my Polyvites on a regular schedule

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your sucess so far!

I don't see kelp capsules so much as a "supplement" so much as a "superfood" that you may choose to consume in capsule or tablet form if you don't like the flavor. I've aquired a taste for dried kombu, and often crunch it as a snack, so I don't need to take more sea veggies in pill form.

Well, I lost 3 more pounds this week, for a total of 6 so far.

I'm excited about the weight loss, so I think I'm not going to sweat my body temp so much (after the initial temp spike, I haven't been able to catch it above 98.0 again this week).

I am having bursts of energy... even got my mini-trampoline out of the closet today (it's raining, so I need something active to do inside).
