I started the diet three weeks ago, following the arthritis book and have had amazing success in such a short time. A loss of 3kgs and bursitis, which I have had in my shoulder for well over a year, has disappeared. A sense of general well being is an added benefit.
I have osteoarthritis in my foot and have had some relief especially less inflammation. I still find walking difficult but am hoping this will improve over time. Could anyone who is following this diet tell me how much relief from the symptoms of arthritis they have experienced and how long it took? |

jamant, I followed the BTD for over 10 years and have now been on the GTD for a little more than a year. I have virtually no arthritis symptoms now, except that there is one knuckle on my right hand that has stayed slightly enlarged and if I bump it hard, it is easier to damage. But the important thing is that there is no more chronic pain.
I noticed a difference within days of starting the BTD as the inflammation in my body seemed to just go away with the absence of avoid foods. |

Jamant, my mon Type A 71 y.o, she is on BTD since 3 years. Right now she is better, no back and knee pain, has lost about 10 kg. She is doing Dr.D's protocols and takes Deflect, Phloxicin, Omega 3-6-9, Cal-Mag-Boro. Welcome AB!!! |

Thanks to all of you who answered with positive messages. I just wanted to be sure I am on the right track. I realise I am not going to cure arthritis overnight but have already had amazing results in such a short time – maybe still have to cut out that coffee every second day! |

ok, I slipped yesterday.... had coffee.. it didn't even taste as wonderful as it sometimes does.. totally wasn't worth it.
this morning I'm having the Kukicha green tea with agave.... it's a big bowl of it! and I admit I use a lot of agave.. but this is the only time of the day I do this..... so this has got to be better than the coffee/ sugar/ milk, right? I hope so!
I had a wake up call yesterday... I was carrying a bucket and mop down the stairs and the handle of the bucket was looped around my pinky top joint... it instantly got sore and inflamed .. had that look of my mom's fingers!!! Yikkesssss!!! that alone scared me into vowing not to go back to the coffee habit... those inflamed joints on the fingers are scary! |

My mother has osteoporosis. And she hasn't straightened her legs for several years. I always put a pillow under her knees. She is 87. She has been on gatherer diet for two months and tonight when i put her to bed...her legs went straight down. "its a miracle", I yelled. And she laughed. She also has alzheimers or something akin to that. I've always felt in my heart and mind that her arthritus and the cognitive dysfunction are related. I don't know how...but i know there is a connection. |

I salute your tenacity and caring love, as well as your mom obediently following her guidelines. Both deserve a praise! |
