I searched for the thread regarding this cream...

Ok I got it several months ago and did not use it... then after expecting and looking at all of my face creams it looked like the one that was the safest.  I have been using it with my carrot cleanser and toner and this week I have gotten glowing results.

*Must be honest I think I would have used it before now but was turned off by the smell.  All the creams I have used in the past have smelled good enough to eat and this one smells more like what a man would use.  After about 4 days I did not notice the smell as much.

Not sure if it's because I am expecting or the cream... but I am glowing...

I am ready to purchase the mask and night cream....

I'm using it also. I like it in the summer. It's so light and cooling. The scent is ok.

How long does it last? It's such a small sized bottle.

I think it lasts. I waited until the summer to use mine because it's so light. For me, I think I need something heavier over it for the winter. It spreads very easily so you don't waste any.

I went to the hairdresser last Thursday and she asked me what product I used on my face because it was smooth (for my age) and I didnt have any make-up on.

I took off of work today because I was gone all weekend and had household chores to attend to.  I did a yoga make-up in the morning.  There was this lady there who was also making up but I didnt know her because I attend week-end and night classes whereas she goes during the day.  I noticed she was struggling a bit, so I suggested she might want to look into the senior exercise classes where they get a punch card and can attend at their leisure.  She said she thought you had to be 65 and she was only 57.  I said I was 57 also, but I thought the classes were for 55 & up.  I just looked it up and I was right.  Good comeback from an awkward situation.  I would have guessed her age as 68.

I think exercising regularly, eating right for my type, and using Genoma skin cream all help.

Just read Dr. D's new blog on the new Genoma line. I'm just wondering how does one get the 50% discount? The link says 25% discount under the products description.

Even cheap Mrs T ordered the set!
It's only the 2nd time in my life I used PayPal. Of course I forgot my 'code' for PayPal, but remembered at the 3rd try!

The other code for NAP, I don't know. The # I had from a catalog/ShareRight didn't work.
I spend very little for the holidays, but I thought I'd better order before I change my mind.
My spending projects are going to be for 3 books that people I know are writing that should be out next year. I plan to buy more than one copy of at leasst 2 of them. To me, that's a big expenditure!
The other time I used PayPal was for women's football tickets. That was a bargain, a lot cheaper than the men's pros & so much more entertaining!!

Mrs. T, I have tips on how to get savings on books...

1) http://amazon.com basically the lowest price without a membership - even free standard shipping on many items as long as your total order is $25 or more

2) print out coupons - sign up for free at Borders for a regular supply of coupons varying from 20-40% off a single item over $10 (usually).

3) If you really don't want to sign up for the free program with Borders you can still get 20% off regularly here:  http://www.visitborders.com

I remember getting 3 of the GTD books from there. I'm sure I can find these books there.
I also think I have ability to write, but there is so much literature & only one lifetime to do it all. So I won't overload the system.
Another thing I do for my skin lately is put vitamin E on my face(wile at home-it stinks).  I upgraded to the better E (mixed) & found a good use for the cheapo. Also, diet is sooo important. If I go off or on the wagon, it shows up in my skin as pale or pasty. I'm sure even neutral agave does that. Too bad, as it didn't mess up my blood sugar in the amounts I used.

I just ordered the kit. 84 dollars with shipping, but for 4 products, that is not too bad. Heck, Oil of Olay products are 20 dollars plus per bottle and that makes me break out! I'll be a good test for the Genoma products because I spend so much time out in the Wisconsin cold! I'll let you know how they work.

Ok, I got my Genoma Complete Pack...first of all, the package was all tied up with such a pretty bow...what a nice touch.  I immediately tried all the products out and all I can say is that it far exceeded my expectations. The skin on my face feels so smooth & alive...perked-up in a very special way. The only problem that I have is that the Toner bottle is not spraying...it's spitting droplets of liquid (not a fine spray at all) onto my face and it took several pumps before I was able to get my face wet.  I called NAP and Lynn said that it should not be this difficult to use and she will call me back after she discusses this with the person who might be in a position to help me.  I can still get my face wet and I will still use it as is but would have preferred it if the spray was more fine and if I did not have to pump several times to get the moisture onto my skin.  Lynn said that I may have been the unlucky one who got a defective spray bottle...She thinks that other bottles do emit a fine spray. Do any of you have your Toner yet...if so, does yours emit a fine spray?

Great report.  I can't wait until pay day!

Try looking at the end of the plastic straw that goes to the bottom of the bottle, is it too long?

Vicki...the bottle is opaque so I can't see the straw at all.  I can't easily unscrew the cap & I don't want to force it as I might break it. I'll wait until I hear from NAP & see what they have to say.

try pressing it a few times......air sometimes gets caught in the straw......
had the same with genome but after a few pumps, it worked fine...

Lola...thanks for the suggestion.  I tried it but it still "spits".  I do love the entire line of facial products.  Makes my face feel wonderful. I'll just use it "as is"...I can eventually get enugh on my face to wet my skin & that's good enough until I use the bottle up.

Just an aside...Last night my DH went to a party & ate...oh boy did he eat...this AM he is 3 pounds up from just that one "party" meal...he said "Dr D is right about my type again...my DH said "help me"...you know that I will. It's so good to be needed. Bill has said that he could never do it without my help...& Dr. D's.

I'm noticing that my hands feel so soft & smooth after I treat my face since I use my hands to apply the Genoma products.  Before I rinse it off, I even leave the Rejuvenating Cleanser on my hands as well as on my face (for a few minutes) as a mask for my hands too. I'm so very pleased with the results of these products on my skin. Thanks again Dr. D. & Martha...you never cease to amaze me...you have lead me to the fountain of youth.   My years keep increasing but the level of my energy & sense of well-being is through the roof.

Rex, Good Customer Service would send out an immediate replacment without questioning. Especially if you're a regular customer.  I'm starting a Customer Service business because I am disgusted with the level of service I have been subjected to from companies and people in the recent past. I will also be giving lectures on it to companies as soon as I have a Power Point presentation prepared.

Tell your DH don't worry..It's mostly water from party food which is heavily salted. He should never weigh himself after a party or a restaurant meal because of the salt. Tell him to wait till Sunday.

Mayf...I fear that Bill's weight gain was caused by more than just the salt content...he really pigged out...he brought the menu home to show me how much he had consumed...it was unbelievable...I wouldn't be able to eat that much in an entire weekend and he ate it all in just one evening meal! He was still feeling so full this morning that he could only drink his coffee..."no food please" he said..."I just can't eat anymore right now"! I know that I'll be able to get him back to his new lower weight but this up & down is not very good for him & I want him to stick around with me for a long, long time.

Regarding my Toner, I have not heard back from NAP but I'm sure that they will not disappoint me...their record to date has been exemplary. This morning the droplets have changed to a steady flow but I was under the impressiion that it would be more like a fine mist.

Mine arrived between 4 & 5 today. Why things arrive in the short time I am out baffles me. Last year when I got the GTD books, they arrived during the 5 minutes I was in the attic!
Good thing no one stole them as they were left between the 2 doors.
Thanks for such prompt service. I'm thinking of waiting till Christmas to open the package so I make sure I get a gift. There's something special about opening things that morning.
I assume they will be fine till then.

I wonder if Genoma would help the pitting on my cheeks from all the years of acne.

Most likely dermabrasion would have to be the thing to help it. Done by a Dermatologist. Maybe now they can do it with laser.

Rex, are they scented? Does it smell like the Day Light Cream? I'll try it with my next Deflect order.

Mayf...yes, they are scented.  The scent is a bit different from that of the Day Light Cream...not really a sweet scent but I'm not very much into scents so a medicinal-type of scent is ok as far as I'm concerned....it doesn't bother me at all.  Yesterday I used the night cream during the day because I had to walk a few blocks in the extreme cold & very windy weather.  My face was totally protected...no wind burn effect at all...as I said...I love this line of Genoma products.

In defense of NAP when they sent me the Hunter pack instead of the Explorer pack they immediately sent me out the correct order.   I have never had any issues with their customer service.

I havent ordered the pack yet.   I was concerned about the Mung bean in the night cream.  It has been a consistent avoid for me (BTD, GTD, Swami).  I get very confused when it comes to what can be absorbed through my skin into my bloodstream and what is only a bother if ingested.  We are warned against various toxins in hair, skin, perfumes, etc that can be dangerous to our health.  There are topical medications that affect us.  So how do we know that an item in our avoid list is only bad for us via the tummy?

Red...Yes, I agree NAP is wonderful...their customer service is excellent...definitely no defense necessary...I never feel that I have to be concerned about them...they have always done the right thing & I have no doubt that they will do the right thing this time. I wish all companies that I do business were like NAP.

I remember getting 3 of the GTD books from there. I'm sure I can find these books there.

If you are considering giving the Genotype book, you may want to give the Genotype intro kit which includes the book.

For $34.95 you get:

The book, a GenoTyping Kit (taster strips, fingerprint ink, protractor, ...) A bottle of the GeonType Multi-Vitamin supplement (which is normally $34.95 by itself), and a Magnifying Loupe to read your fingerprints.

Yes, NAP has fast shipping acurate orders and high quality supplements and friendly service. No problem there. I have no other problems with NAP.. IMHO, I just felt that they shouldn't have questioned you and make you wait till they ask someone about the sprayer. Just apologize and send out another one. That's what I would've done.

Red, noticed on my catch up reading that no one had commented so - to put my 2 bob's worth in - Maybe the reaction wouldn't be as severe as it would be if ingested through your stomach (but depends on what substance is eh ) but in my exp of reactions, I am always cautious of an ingredient in a cream if its an avoid
Eg garlic put in your shoe will make your breath smell so obviously things go thru' your system...
I have problems with soybeans so won't even try cosmetics (or   bio oil - which is s'posed to be gr8 for scarring)) that contain it...
On the other hand NAP would be able to advise better....

Thanks Red for posting again re this, Good to know from NAP... Hope it goes well... I had a reaction to a "natural" face cream here in NZ, week or so back. They have very kindly offered to replace and give me a free product - (extremely good of them) so I'm now in the process of trying to choose something I think I'll be ok with. The original cream was for normal to dry skin but also had limonene (+ 2 other citrus ingredients) and I think, oddly, it was the citrus, tho' I'm fine eating lemon/lime; or it may have been just too rich   I do have very dry, but extremely sensitive skin....

I am very picky about skin & hair products.  Different products can make me itch, break out in a rash, or inhibit my breathing (fragrances).  I borrowed some hand cream at work and had to wash it off then take a Benadryl.   My hairdresser put a new product on my head and it started itching (a mousse, I think).  We had to re-wash my hair.  She said shed mark in my chart to only use organics on me.  I dont wear nail polish any more because the fumes gave me a headache.  Therefore, I am always concerned whenever I try out something new.

I received my order last night and tried the cleanser, toner and night cream.  I had no adverse reactions.

I see the day cream has gone down from 1.7 oz to 1.67 oz.  They changed the design of the label to match the set, I guess.  The day & cleanser have a white label.  The cleanser & night cream have a forest green label.  I liked the coloring of the last label better.  Same type bottle which is eons better than the 1st ugly brown glass one they had.   I like the double helix on the labels.

But the important thing is how well these products work and what results will my skin have.

OK next on my wish list is hand cream and body lotion or butter.

After putting the cream on my face I rub it on my hands also.  It has helped me during this cold winter when my knuckles usually look like they have little cuts in them.

I have been having trouble with the container itself. My first bottle of the original cream would not pump up. I opened it and just used a Q-tip to get out the rest. My new night-time cream started this tonight...Help...Aani

I went to the Park Districts Health Fair and fitness Expo on Saturday.   There was a distributor table for Nu Skin Galvanic Spa system.   This lady really depressed me.  She told me I looked like I was in my mid 60s.  I am 57.  She told me to look at the other lady and in my head I guessed her to be around 60 yrs old.  The younger lady said the other lady was 60 but youd never know it by looking at her skin.  Both of them had make-up on, I didnt.  I was looking in this mirror that magnifies your every pore. She said I should wear a sun block because I have sun damage.  I never wear one because I want the vitamin D.  Afterward I went and talked to my fitness instructor who Ive known for 10 years.  She says she looks at the whole picture and overall I looked younger.  She also knew that I had been a smoker for 45 years.  I only quit a year ago and I cheat when I drink.  New years resolution not to cheat.  Also in my teens and 20s Id sunbath with baby lotion on my body.  I felt a little better.  I think Im doing well for all the abuses Ive put my body through.  Then I saw the Park Districts fitness trainer and nutritionist who Ive also known for 10 years.   I was concerned that my BMI and fat measurement wouldnt be good because I couldnt exercise for 4 months after my knee injury and I was just now getting back into shape.  The 10 lbs I recently lost also shows in my face.  I need to do those face exercises.  Well my BMI was normal and my % body fat was good.  The stupid health assessment I took at work wanted to put me on a weight loss diet.  Hello muscle weighs more than fat, if my clothes fit, then Im happy.

Bottom line, their 10 minute spa treatment results disappeared in a couple of hours.  Im not paying $350 for a device that has results like that.  I will stick with Dr. Ds Genoma line and do those funny face exercises.

Hey Red, Don't you just hate those sales people that sell by trying to make you feel inferior - esp when they're all made up and you aren't - and you end up believing them and buy their product just cos you feel bad... Maybe you should have said what you thought the other lady's  age was just to see what the rep would say   I so don't trust anyone who is just trying to sell something. Selling is about relationship and it sure doesn't sound as if this "lady" knew that...

Don't worry Red, you look fine. Those women just say those things to sell you $350 treatments because they make commission on them.  I bought a Derma Wand and I was using it and my skin looked worse when I wasn't using it. It dried it out and it looked..cooked.  The Derma Wand is some kind of electrial appliance that you go over one's face with.  I'm going to sell it on ebay.

I also read that those facial exercises make you wrinkle faster not make you look better.  Because using your facial muscles is what causes wrinkles in the first place. Repeated frowning..(frown lines) repeated smiling (smile line) repeated squinting (crows feet)... see what I mean?  The only exercise that I thought was useful was the turkey neck exercise.  I couple of years ago I saw an infomercial for a ball that you put under your chin to squeeze and it had good results for people who had loose skin in the neck area.  I don't have that problem yet.   But then of course we can always get a life style lift.  (another infomercial)

RL, that's what I call a conflict of interest!  I don't know how such people can sleep.  I guess years of ignoring your conscience will silence it eventually, just like years of eating wrong will silence your body's warnings against those bad foods.

Vickie:  keep us posted on how it does for you.

The older lady gave me a call.  On the sheet to win a raffle prize, I was hesitant to out down my phone number, but they said they wouldnt call to sell me anything just to inform me if I won.  I took down their e-mail and web addresses in case I was interested.  I told her that my skin seemed to bunch up after a couple of hours then by the end of the day, there was no difference between the treated side and the untreated side.   She said for some people it takes a few times.  I said no thanks, I was not interested.  Then she wanted to sell me their skin products line.  I said no thank you that I was just starting a new regime with Genoma and would stick with that.  Then she tried to talk me into selling the products.  Why would I want to sell products that dont work on me?   I would rather promote Genoma for free.

Well that's a blatant lie eh? Some salesmen (and women) will tell you anything just to get hold of your details.... Some of them even have competitions that are "never won" just to get that all important list for potential sales...

Let's see...

For those who had issues, I have a few possible reasons why!

1) You can open any of the bottles by twisting the gray neck at the top of the bottle, making it easier to transfer to other bottles, for air travel, for instance.

2) Sediment had gathered on the bottom of my toner bottle.  I simply shook well and it hasn't settled again (with daily use).  If the base of the sprayer tube was in the same location as the sediment, then you may get issues with it not being able to spray properly.  Just shake or check the bottom of your bottle for a brown spot.

3) My face cream started "farting" today   The cream is thick enough that I've encountered an air pocket.  I've tapped the bottle on a hard surface to move the air pocket.

My skin is very sensitive and I've been happy with the results thus far.  I may need to stop using the toner or may need additional moisture support because my face is so sensitive.

I love how the bottles are all designed to minimize bacterial contamination!

Hi Red,

I am going to butt in here and give my 2 cents, for what it is worth.

I am a paramedical aesthetician, been one since 1986.  I have my own skin care clinic here in Arizona and I have personally tried that NuSkin Galvanic Spa system and was not impressed.  It is nothing but multi-level marketing.  The sales people know NOTHING, they aren't even required to be licensed to sell it.  The sales people are programmed to tell you what it does, but if you ask them something about the skin, they know diddly.  To me that is like trying to sell cars when you don't even know how to drive.   Don't get me wrong, it will work if you are willing to go through the routine of using it daily.  The results just are not all that impressive, IMO.  It's another device that women will buy use a couple of times and toss it in a drawer because it is a bother to have to do it daily.  We will see them at garage sales here in a few years. ha ha ha

Skin care products and devices are the marketing schemes of the millenium.  Just watch some late night TV or Sunday mornings all kinds of skin care and devices are being sold on infomercials and now MLM's. Most of it is JUNK and sadly people buy it.

It also sounds like this woman was trying hard to sell this device by telling you look older than you are.  Did you ask her to guess your age?  I am assuming not.  I am sure her sales tactic works on alot of women, otherwise she wouldn't say something like that or she is hard up for a sale.

First off know this, she wasn't any type of "real skin care professional" aesthetician, paramedical aesthetician or dermatologist and only a professional, one that sees and treats skin all day long could really give you a worthwhile opinion.  I really hate it when my patients ask me what I think of their skin.  The reason is because I won't lie to them.  For the most part, women don't come through my door until it is time for damage control.  Most women don't think about taking care of their skin until they see the wrinkles coming on.  I have a handful that come to me to maintain their skin that have taken care of and they look great.

Butting in again.  IMO you really should wear sunscreen on your face. The number one way to fight premature aging is sunscreen.  I understand that you want and need the Vit D, I hear ya and I am with ya on that.  Put sunscreen on your face.  Take off your mittens or roll up your sleeves when you are outside.  If you don't care about aging prematurely, or getting hyperpigmentation (commonly known as liver spots, or age spots or darker areas of the skin) then don't wear the sunscreen.

On a lighter note.  I got some samples of the Genoma Skin Care at the conference yesterday.  I am excited to try it.  I love the products I carry in my clinic with the exception of my natural marine line.  I need to replace it with something good.  I am boxing the marine line up this week and dropping it at the womans shelter, it will be a treat for them.

Thanks frosty.  I bet a lot of women do get pulled in by that line.  How many of us have gadgets that sounded great at the time, but were just too much bother.   I know I do.  Im glad I didnt get suckered in this time.

Dropping things off at a womens shelter sounds like a great idea.  I bet theyll love it.

OMG Vicki!!!  Yes the infamous epilator, aka epilady and many other names.

I was dumb enough to fall for that one.  Of all people, ME!  I should have known better!  The biggest red flag that it was junk was the "it's painless" statement.  Painless my butt!  It hurt like heck!!  And as well it should, it is pulling your hair out, there is nothing painless about that.

I have never bought skin creame, but I bought the Genoma. I love it.

I really like the smell when I apply the night creame, it is very calming.

I like the pump bottles it helps me not to waste a drop or over use it.

Now I have to sell enough stuff on ebay to buy more once it runs out.

Thanks Martha, for working on this product. I know it took years to develop.

At the beginning of December my hands did what they always do every winter.  The knuckles and finger joints crack and bleed.  My hands look like alligator hands.  I should buy stock in hand cream.

I got the Genoma night cream on December 24, 2008.  I had been using the day cream, but only on my face.  I decided to put a dab on my hands at night and in the morning.  It is now the middle of January and I do not have cracked hands.  I still use hand cream during the day to supplement.  Weve had a very rough winter.  Im impressed.

I love the cleanser!  It has my favorite scent of all the line, and gets my skin truly clean without drying it out at all.  (Usually I have to put on moisturizer after using a cleanser, even though my skin is somewhat oily, but that's not necessary with this cleanser. It's nice to add the moisturizer after, but I don't suffer if I skip it.)

I really was happy with the products I was using before Genoma, but I won't be going back to them.  All I need now is a Genoma Shampoo and Conditioner

Oh, and since this might be a good place to ask, I furrow my brow when I sleep and am developing wrinkles between my eyebrows.  Are Frownies worth it (the stickers that you stick on your face), or is there a better solution?  I've heard scotch tape might work just as well.

Aan,

I do get air pockets (farting ) when dispensing the night creme.  I simply tap the product to move the air pocket if it persists.

Sold by weight not volume, so you aren't missing any product

Yes Aani, mine is not coming out.  When I looked inside, the straw came loose from the top.  So I tried using some tweezers to fish it out but couldn't.  Now I have the bottle up side down.  That seems to work.

I've done that too.  I don't think there is a straw in there. I hate to have to tap it out. I like the little bit that comes out with the pump. The more you use it the less you have to use...Aani

I have to bring this thread up again. There are no words that I can say to tell you how pleased I am with this product. After using it for several months my skin feels so good, so very soft. Very few pimples (even at my age I would get some nasty ones). My pores are so much smaller and cleaner ( I had very large and dirty pores ).  Yes I still have my wrinkles but at my age, so what? Maybe this stuff will slow them down...Aani

Sounds like a well formulated product. Has anybody experienced what dermatologists call 'skin fatigue' with the product? That is, most products simply stop working for some skins. Related to enzymatic disruption in the skin - don't worry it's non fatal and easily reversed by adopting a protocol in which you use the product less often ie a few days a week instead of daily or you have a short break from it. Andrea's daughter probably provides a good example of how a well formulated product works particularly well after resting the skin (before the skin has time to tire of the active ingredients in the cream).

This isn't good, it contaminates the product and diminishes the efficacy.  I would call NAP and advise them of the problem so they can address it with company that is bottling their products.

Thanks for posting this.  I have dedicated a whole chapter about this in the book that I am writing.  This also happens with products like shampoo and deordorants.  All to often patients or customers quit using a product because they don't think it is working anymore.  When actually they are experiencing "skin fatigue".  Shifting your regimine for a week and then returning to the product you love will jump start your skin again.

Worse stuff than burns. Some very recent research has shown a connection between tazorac use and an increase in mortality amongst older men. It's not a well designed study at all but it's got alarm bells ringing.

eh,

No I am not a dermatologist.  I am a paramedical aesthetician and have been since 1986.  I have worked closely with derms and plastics over the years and have a pretty good working knowledge of the skin.  I ventured out on my own back in 1999 opening my own skin care and permanent makeup clinic that is results oriented.  Basicly, I am hard core skin care and PMU and I do not do any "princess treatments" in my practice.

I am also a 17 year veteran flight attendant that is looking forward to retirement some day.  The job has given me a lot of freedom and I only work approx 45 days per year, this year far less than that maybe only 20 days and that is why I haven't quit.  With that freedom I have had the time to culitivate my skin care practice and spend the majority of my time doing what I love and that is making women look and feel beautiful.

Many of my patients or clients are flight attendants and their skin really needs the help.  Since they are in a tube of recirculating dry air all day long and as about as close to elements of bad UVA rays that you can get, their skin gets dry, tough and asphyxiated, resembling that of an orange peel.  I also happen to have several nurses that are regulars.  They generally work long hours and are so busy caring for others that taking care of their skin is a low priority for them UNTIL they start aging.  However, I have found that to be the case with a lot of women.  Menopause strikes and their skin starts to take a nose dive, it's like a light goes on and a bell goes off and they come rushing in saying HELP, CAN YOU HELP ME?  If I can't, I sure know who can and I refer them off to a plastics doc.  I eventually get them back after their nip and tuck for maintanence and they are very compliant at that point.

Well that is my story.  I am just a gal in Arizona that has a huge respect for the largest organ our bodies have and our first line of defense, the skin.

I've been using this product for about six weeks and like it.  Really love the scent too.  I was wondering what people are using for around the eye area.  I usually use an eye cream and wonder if it's still needed with the Genoma skin products.

OK Frosty, what do I use when I'm on break from Genoma?

A good vegetable glycerin facial bar for cleansing and squalene oil.  I love squalene oil.

Or you can make your own all natural cleanser at home.  Works great for skin fatigue, use for one week then go back to the product you love.

Sweet-and-Sour Cleanser
This unique combination of ingredients leaves your skin smooth and radiant.
Ingredients
4 Tbsp plain yogurt
2 Tbsp honey
3 Tbsp lime juice
Instructions
Blend ingredients. Apply to face and massage 1-2 minutes. Rinse.

Thyme-to-Wash Cleanser
Reduces puffiness and irritation while gently toning skin.
Ingredients
1/2 Tbsp dried thyme
2 tsp crushed fennel seeds
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 lemon, juiced
Instructions
Stir together thyme and fennel seeds, cover with boiling water. Add lemon juice, let steep 15 minutes. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator. Use a cotton ball to dab onto face each morning, and rinse.

Oatmeal Exfoliating Scrub
A quick and easy exfoliator for beauty emergencies!
Ingredients
2 heaped tsp fine oatmeal
1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
Mix oatmeal and baking soda, add enough water to make a thick paste. Rub over face, rinse, pat dry

Ok, the face washes sound easy and great THANKS, what about a moisturizer? I would also like to hear what you recommend for around the eyes. I live and work in the high desert and my skin could use some help. In the bad old days all the moisturizers and sun screens were so full of junk they would make my face break out horribly so I tended to avoid them, I could use some help! I do like the Genoma line, but they don't have anything specific for eyes, or sun screen (when I'm out in the field I'm out for 8 to 10 hours a day in the desert sun). Right now I use Neutrogena's sun screen SPF 55 for faces, and I wear a big hat.

I've always used eye cream (Estee Lauder - but haven't used for two or three years now; currenly using No. 7 which I fear is full of BAD ingredients; will also use pure hyloronic acid with some water and dab in) for preventative measures, and have not had major lines until menopause, and now have all of the above!

I really appreciate the tip to take breaks from any particular facial regime!  It has proven effective for me.  When I'm not using Genoma, I love to use Honey Girl Face and Eye Creme, Night Creme and Facial Cleanser.  Click Here

I was very surprised with the effectiveness of Genoma products.  The first thing I saw was a diminishing of lines and wrinkles.  The creams are great!

I used the cleanser as a light mask after cleaning my skin with my Honey Girl cleanser.  I left the Genoma cleanser on my skin for 15 minutes or so before bed, then rinsed it off and applied the night cream.  My skin actually tingled and became pink from the product.  It's well worth looking into!

Thumbs up!

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.

Stormy and Samy,

I love Hyaluronic Acid, also known as sodium hyaluronate, it is awesome for use around the eye.

As I said earlier, I love Squalene too.  I use it after cleansing and before my moisturizer at night and during the day I use it and follow up Zinc (I use as sunscreen) then with my makeup.  Some people use it as their moisturizer.

So, for the sunscreen question I use Zinc.

As for eye creams.  I don't like using fragrance around the eye.  There are many good eye creams out there, that are frangrance free.

Here are some of my favorites that I like in skin care creams.  The list is long so I am only posting a few of my fav's.  Also, following that a few more recipes that I like.  You can use any of the eye cream recipes as a moisturizer for dry skin.  If you have oily skin I will have to help you tweek it.

Squalene - penetrates deep into the skin and accelerates new cell growth. Heals burns, protects from the elements, and soothes shaving irritations. A natural skin supplement from the sea that softens and diminishes tiny facial lines.

Shea Butter Un-refined also known as Raw Shea Butter - Moisturizes, reduces wrinkles, stretch marks, age marks, skin discolorations and infuses the skin with naturally occurring vitamin E.

Jojoba Oil - Has proven to work well with acne prone skin. When applied to the skin, Jojoba oil balances sebum levels and also possesses anti-bacterial properties that prevent breakouts. Its ability to prevent moisture loss makes Jojoba oil ideal for use on dry skin, eczema and other problematic skin conditions.

Azulene - Has shown to have dramatic anti-inflammatory effects and significant anti-oxidant protection.  It will help to prevent skin blemishes from developing and will help stop deterioration of skin cells that leads to wrinkles, fine lines and skin discoloration.

Kukui Nut Oil - is a rich source of vitamins A, E, and F as well as essential fatty acids, such as linoleic and linolenic acid.  It is rapidly absorbed and doesn't leave the skin feeling oily.  It can be used on dry, mature, wrinkled skin to restore elasticity and firmness.  It can be used on sun damaged skin to prevent wrinkles and rejuvenate or on sunburned skin to prevent wrinkles and dehydration.  It can be used on problem skin ie, eczema, psoriasis, acne, or blemishes to help alleviate symptoms.

Vitamin K - Best way to treat dark circles under the eyes.

Neroli Oil - Any type of skin can benefit from Neroli oil. It is particularly good for dry, irritated or sensitive skin. It regulates oiliness and minimizes enlarged pores. Neroli oil helps to clear acne and blemished skin.

Apricot and Aloe eye cream
Makes 2 ounces
Used on a regular basis, this rich cream will help chase away crow's feet and laugh lines.

     1 teaspoon Apricot kernel oil
     1 teaspoon grated Beeswax
     1/2 teaspoon Aloe Vera gel
3 drops Grapefruit seed Essential Oil
     1 Vitamin E capsule

Combine oil and Beeswax in the top of a double boiler. Heat until wax has melted; remove from the heat. Using a wooden spoon, beat in the aloe gel.
Allow to cool slightly and add Essential Oil and Vitamin E (puncture the capsule and squeeze out its contents), stirring well. Pour into a small jar. Cool and cap tightly. Apply nightly before bed.

Cocoa Butter eye creamThis rich and buttery cream gives the under-eye area extra care and conditioning at night, while the skin rests and repairs itself. Cocoa butter and coconut oil traditionally have been used to treat fine lines around the eyes and mouth. They also help soften and protect delicate skin. This eye cream is very rich, so use sparingly; a small amount is all you need for soft, healthy skin in the morning.

2 tablespoons grated cocoa butter
3 tablespoons coconut oil

1. Mix ingredients together in a small saucepan or container and heat gently, but do not boil.

2. Pour into a small, clean container and allow mixture to cool completely. Apply nightly under your eyes to soothe and condition your skin.

Walnut Oil eye creamWalnut oil is used to treat dry skin and is a key ingredient in many anti-wrinkle and anti-aging products. Use a small amount of this eye cream to protect and nourish the delicate under-eye area.

1 tablespoon grated beeswax
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 tablespoons walnut oil
1 tablespoon rosewater or distilled water

1. Mix together beeswax and oils in a small container or saucepan and heat gently until the wax is melted. Stir well and slowly stir in the rosewater.

2.  Allow the mixture to cool and continue to stir so that the oil and water mixtures remain mixed. Spoon the cream into a small container.

Moisturizer
Ginger Skin CreamGinger invigorates, and oil soothes.

     2-inch piece of fresh ginger
     2 teaspoons light sesame oil
     2 teaspoons apricot kernel oil
            2 teaspoons vitamin E oil
            ½ cup cocoa butter

Preheat oven on lowest setting. Finely grate the ginger just enough so that you have about an 1/8 teaspoon of ginger "juice." To obtain the juice, squeeze the freshly grated ginger over a small bowl. Place the ingredients (including the ginger) in a glass container and heat just until the cocoa butter is melted and the oils are blended. Pour into a clean, dry container and store in a cool dry place. You can add a few drops of orange or other essential oil for a nice twist.

Samy,
The beeswax is going to hold the cream together, otherwise you will just have oils and it will be runny.

Beeswax works well in cosmetic products because of the wax esthers that exist in both beeswax and human skin. These compounds help to bind and emulsify ointments and lotions. Beeswax is a hydrating ingredient that increases your skins essential moisture, it is safe to use and commonly found in skin care products to help retain the skins natural moisture and relieve itch from sensitive skin.

More info on beeswax
In folk medicine, bees wax ear candles are used for ear wax removal. They are believed to be able to heal ear infection and improve hearing by removing the wax inside the ear. Originating from many countries such as China, Czechoslovakia, Mexico and Italy, this ancient art is known as ear candling.

The skin also benefits from honey too.  That's another lesson.

Frosty, I have tried the Thyme-to-Wash cleanser and the yogurt-lime-honey cleanser, both are wonderful! (yogurt-lime-honey was tasty too )

I couldn't find my bees wax last night (I keep some around 'cuz you just never know when you are going to want to make a batik) so I just used the coconut oil and walnut oil and they were wonderful.

If you lived in Durango I'd be a client!

I massaged it in for about two minutes, it rinsed off beautifully and it left my skin feeling very soft, healthy and moisturized. I used some wonderful local raw honey that I got from the farmers market, plain organic yogurt and organic lime juice, yum.

eh,

I know where you are going with this.  Nano, micronized or micro fine zinc oxide is very controversial today.  I have read so much literature on this and have my own opinions based on what I have read.  I personally don't mind using a nano zinc oxide.  The only company that I know of that carries a non nano zinc is Kabana.  They have sunscreens without it and are completely green.

I've been using nano and micronised zinc oxide for years too (although only if I'm in the Australian sun for extended periods as I have fair sensitive skin).

The trouble is that nano and micronised are not the same thing and it is difficult - not to mention absolutely impossible - to even get some companies to admit they are using nano zinc oxide (like Olay).

Interestingly, Paula's Choice have got back to me (promptly too) to say that their policy is to  use only micronised TiO2 and ZnO not nano. So that's good news. You can add PC to your list! I guess they are waiting on the European Union research results on the safety of the nano ingredients sunscreens.

The Australian Cancer Council products however are loaded up with nano (not micronised) ZnO.

Like you, I'm actually not that worried about nano ZnO at this time. TiO2 is the one to watch. The question of how far it penetrates the skin (3-5 corneocytes so far...that's OK) has still not been properly ascertained especially considering how toxic TiO2 is and whether it may penetrate impaired skin barriers.

The only kind of rash guard I have heard of is for surfing.  I can't imagine wearing one here in AZ in the summer where it easily gets to 115-120 fahrenheit.  Yes that would be hot.

eh,

You are right with most sunscreens you just don't know if it is nano or micronized.  So, in my opinion it is best if you don't know to assume that it is nano.  To me, nano zinc is far better than none.

Thanks, I will add PC to my list... he he he my small list, hopefully it grows.   From what I understand, Badger also claims to only use micronized zinc oxide.

I think I saw Badger for the first time last week. Is that the incredibly cutesy, old fashioned artwork (Edwardian looking) and ironic packaging of Badgers engaged in all sorts of soothing activities like yoga etc? I think it'll go cult here - the Badger stand was surrounded by teenage girls  (um, and moi  ).

That would be them.  I love their organic lip balms!

I make soaps, lotions bars, body butters and soy candles, but haven't mastered lip balms yet.  I haven't tried making lip balms yet, but it is on my list.

I will try their sunscreen and see what I think.  If it is half as good as their lip balm I will be thrilled.

Ok, Frosty. Report back to us on the sunscreen please! Their lip balms looked incredibly pure judging from the ingredient list - but are they really that good? I use Dr Hauschka lip balm. It's good stuff as my lips crack all the time in dry conditions, but I'm looking for something cheaper.

Rash guards are "in" and available at many clothing stores, both online and brick and mortar stores.  One key for comfort is to buy a size much larger than your normal size so that the rash guard is not tight fitting.

http://www.articlesbase.com/me.....d-shirts-658940.html

In Australia, you'll see all manner of child in rash guards plus a wide brim hat.  It is very common in the USA too at water parks and the like.  Check the stores at the water parks, they will have rash guards for sale.

Samy,

If you are buying this for daily use on your face and body it will last you a couple of weeks, but if you are buying this for daily use on your face, it will last you months.

i didnt know badger did a sunscreen... i might start using a sunscreen if there is one made by them. i have the badger sleep, bali and baby balms, i am a sucker for pots of pure and essential oils- the bali balm is especially aromatic! the baby balm is pure enough for me to use as a night cream. i hesitate to try any of their other products on my face though - nothing against badger - i have experienced facial swelling and redness from other products that claimed to be for sensitive skin, even the ingredients were pure sounding enough, but some essential oils are reactive.. for example extract of *Seabuckthorn Berry has good reports from what i quickly searched, but i would have to patch test first

I went to Durango today and found some of the Badger sunscreen but it is only SPF 15, they did not have the 30. I will have to remember to put more on mid-day if I'm out all day. It smells really good and I will give a report after I try some.

Is it for faces?  Or is it body sunscreen?  Some say face and body.  Please let us know what you think.

eh, I love their lip balm it really does the trick for me.

The Badger sunscreen doesn't say one way or the other for faces. I've used it for three days now and I do like it. It goes on rather white from the zinc, but that goes away after awhile. So far I have had no break-outs from it  .

I made some eye cream from coconut oil, coco butter, walnut oil, bee's wax and a little water, I'm enjoying it very much, thanks!

So glad you are liking the eye cream.

I went and looked on Badgers site, to find a local retailer, because I really want to try their sunscreen.  Their sunscreens, both the SPF 15 and the SPF 30, are formulated for the face and body.  What was most impressive was this.....

"We're also proud to tell you that both our SPF 30 and SPF 15 products block both UVA as well as UVB sun rays! A "Critical Wavelength" measurement of 370 nm is considered to be outstanding - Badger SPF30 is 377nm and Badger SPF15 is 376nm."
AND....
"According to the Environmental Working Group's Safe Cosmetics Database, Badger makes one of the world's safest and most effective sunscreens. Most recently, we were recently rated in the top 1% out of over 900 commonly available products."

So, tomorrow I am off to buy some of their sunscreen!

Frosty,

I saw that you and I are the same blood type.  Do you use facial products that contain coconut oil??  I am very new to this blood type way of life.

I found this wonderful face cream that the Greek nuns make and have been using it since November of last year.  I love the fact that it only has natural ingredients.  The ingredient list is:Jojoba, Coconut, Apricot and Gylcerin Oils, Distilled Water, Aloe Vera Juice and mild lilac essential oil.

Both aloe vera and coconut are on my avoid lists, so I stopped using this cream, even though I LOVE IT.  The price of this face cream was great, only $9.00 for a big jar.

hleva,

Yes I use products that contain coconut oil.  I am not eating it, I just use it topically.  I also make my own body scrubs and use sugar in them.

I think we are ok as long as we are not ingesting it.   If I am wrong, someone here will let us know... They are good here about keeping us on track.

The topical vs the stomach has always been confusing to me.  Some things are avoids because of the way they react going through your digestive system, but wont affect you adversely entering through the skin into your bloodstream.  Why is very complicated.  But if you are concerned, then try a small amount and take note of what happens and how you feel.

I hope this isn't to confusing, I have tried to make this simple, but if you have questions please ask.

I believe the reason is because only about 3% of what we put topically on our skin is absorbed.  The skin is made up of many layers both lipid or non-water soluble layers and water soluble layers. One of the principal functions of skin is to provide a barrier to the transportation of water and other substances. Basically, the non water soluble layers are not letting water in and the water soluble layers are not letting lipids, fats and oils in. This barrier also helps prevent the entry of harmful substances into the body. Some materials, such as acetone, ethyl alcohol, nickel ions and poison ivy, can penetrate the barrier, but most substances cannot.

Until the craze of Alpha Hydroxy Acids most topical creams didn't penetrate much through the Stratum Corneum our outer later of skin.  Alpha Hydroxy Acids will penetrate the skin more because of their molecular makeup.  The smaller the molecule the better the absorption etc.   That is why we are seeing them in skin care.  They are very effective in penetrating and exfoliating the skin allowing better absorption of our products.

The latest on the scene in skin care are peptides.  Peptides function as messengers in the skin, allowing the epidermis and dermis to communicate more efficiently. Research is showing their effect to be quite measurable. As we age, communication diminishes within the skin, resulting in decreased collagen production and an accumulation of degraded elastin fibers.  Regular use of AHA's and Peptides can reduce wrinkle volume and decrease wrinkle depths.

You will also hear about liposomes in skin care.  They are very confusing to explain, very medical and there is some controversy as to their efficacy.  So I will pass on the explanation of them.

Oils or topical creams won't conflict with the BTD or the GTD unless you are eating them.  If you are in doubt about being sensitive to an oil or cream, do a patch test on your skin with it.

Frosty, I cannot believe the difference the eye cream is making, I'm so happy with it! I just found some Neroli oil in Durango and I'm adding that too it, hope that is OK. As work picks up ($$) I'm going to order some of the other oils as I haven't found Kului nut oil except on line. I can't thank you enough   !

Hej samy,
I am always n the look out fpr THE eyecream, so which one are you talking about? I am mostly inneed of something that doe snot upset my eyes (I am still struggeling with a swollen and ichy read eye from time to time) but also helps smothening wrinkles.
For the skincare I am a bit reluctant to try the Germona Skin Care as I just switched to another skoncare (made by skindoctors-a US brand) and my skin is fantasti, so I do not wantto risk it to make it worse again

I really love the Genoma Skin line I think it is very soothing, but I am not overly sensitive. The eye cream I'm talking about is the home made one that Frosty posted in this thread, just go back a age or two until you find it .

Dear samy, she posted 3, Walnut Oil,m Aproct+Aloe Vera and Cooa Butter. Which one did you try? And did it help against wrinkles (not that they disappear of course, but getting smoother).
So the Genoma you did not get any breakout and it did improve your skin how?
Thanks

This is the one I have been using and YES, the wrinkles are less

Walnut Oil eye cream
Walnut oil is used to treat dry skin and is a key ingredient in many anti-wrinkle and anti-aging products.

Genoma skin care leaves my skin soft and clean, not dried out and I DO break out easily, but no problems.

Yea!!  I finally found this wonderful string.

My issue is the following:  I have oily face, no acne, and am 34 years old.  I have been hearing all the raving reports about Genome Skincare, but they are all the same.  "My skin is so soft."  Well, for us oily skin gals, skin softness or dryness is not an issue.

Has anyone yet tried these products that has oily skin?

And has anyone with oily skin, found a sun-screen that does not make your face feel like an oil slick by noon?  Presently, I have been using a mineral foundation with sunscreen in the mix by Colour ID. It's talc free, and mica free...as I have enough shine.  Is this good enough?

Can you tweak those recipes Frosty for oily skin?

Thanks!

carolinagirl,
Can you get away without using sunscreen? I have oily skin too but it's fair and very sensitive. Sunscreens for my skintype are irritating and the mineral sunscreens for sensitive skin merely clog my skin. I only use zinc oxide sunscreens when I'm body surfing as it stays on which is essential in the Australian surf but it's just too heavy and suffocating in humid conditions.

Your mineral foundation is better than nothing but you need to apply it thickly in order to achieve a high SPF. Does it have an SPF rating? If not, it may still provide some protection (often up to about 8 SPF). But it's not enough for extended periods in the sun.

I wear a hat with a brim rated at 50SPF - it's the best thing as it also protects your eyes and scalp. (My scalp burns easily.) I also happen to love hats - I know many people don't which is a shame as they do the best job in the sun in my opinion.

eh,

Actually, this company does not state the spf.   I ordered through Raesin Images.  I did find this on their site though:
RAESIN IMAGES Cosmetics does not incorporate harsh chemicals, or synthetic/chemical dyes such as FD&C Colorants, Lake Blended Mica, Bismuth Chloride, (also known as Bismuth Oyxchloride, and Biron) that can and do irritate skin causing rosacea, redness, and cystic acne lesions.  RAESIN IMAGES does not ad chemical fillers, additives, or irritating preservatives. (Ingredients that may not enhance any cosmetic product performance though can/may be potentially harmful.  (***See MSDS website for more information)

I tried some from L'Oreal (I think), and in the summertime it made my skin burn and ITCH!!  I've used this over a year now and had no issues with this foundation. It does great to combat shine.

From what you've shared, as well as reading what Frosty has posted, has made me think twice about the sunscreen issue though.  I used to purchase liquid foundations and would not purchase one with anything less than an spf of 15.  That way I was not applying two products.  I just like the ease of the mineral foundations though so...decisions, decisions.

I'm hoping, that with the change in my diet, I'm going to see the oily face calm down.  I live in a region where just last week we were at 100% humidity! Ugh.  That brings out the oil.

Thanks

Carolinagirl,
Your mineral foundation sounds very good. (No bismuth is especially good!) If the foundation is doing the job, I'd stick with it as it's so difficult to find products for oily and sensitive skin like ours. The diet may help your oiliness. In my case, however, the diet made me oily. But hey, I look twenty years younger, so this is no longer a complaint in my aging mind

I haven't used it that much due to having oily skin, but I've started now and it's working well.  My skin gets a little red (ruddy?) sometimes, and it helps with that.  It feels oily when I put it on, but seems to open my pores and really helps with inflammation from all sources.

has anyone had any experience making a low-irritant cleanser and moisturiser?
i am giving in.. admitting defeat.. the cosmetics industry may own my soul but no longer will it drain my pocket! (hmmm, one and the same thing?!)
the problem for me is complex formulas are too irritating, on the flip-side simple ones only do one job, ie, if i were to only use coconut oil it would still sit on my skin all shiny and greasy looking, same with evoo, rosehip oil etc.
i tried making a cleanser - it was not bad! (oatmeal, lecithin, water and coconut oil) BTW i don't really enjoy making this stuff, I *like* the convenience of a preserved tube or bottle, but i am also keen to get my healthy skin back.
Apparently i have been doing all the wrong things -using essential oils and products loaded with same.

a home-made moisturiser or hydrating cleanser is what i am after - lecithin is a key here i think, i have been reading about the pH of skin and skincare products, an emulsion of coconut oil, lecithin, water and maybe evoo would be rather great i think... will experiment for now though i shall have to pass my Genoma onto my Ma

just found Frostys' moisturizer recipe! THANKS - i thought I had seen all your posts on recipes and thought they were all cleansers.

If I am at home, I have used vitamin E on my face & later washing it off gently in the shower. It seems to help the skin. I don't use sunscreen, but may use a good cream like Aubrey on my skin. They say commercial sunscreens are toxic & it sure smells like it!

Sunscreens have been a topic of discussion and debate plenty on this forum.  Being in the business of skin for over 20 years I have been privy to seeing what the sun can do to the skin and just how toxic it is.  I have seen some nasty skin cancers caused by the sun and it kills.  There are safe sunscreens, not all are toxic.  It only takes one really bad case of skin cancer to make one a believer in sunscreen.  But by then it may be to late.  Wake up people skin cancer kills!!!!  Is that toxic enough for you?

Does the Badger sunscreen look white on your skin or does it blend in?  I keep having visions of lifeguards and their white noses from zinc oxide sunscreen.

Vitamin K is applied topically twice daily for dark circles under the eyes.  It helps repair and restore broken capillaries, it also helps tighten, tone and firm the skin.  I find it to be most useful under the eyes, but can be used on other parts to of the face to help eliminate broken capillaries.  The trick is consistancy and patience, it works, it just takes time.

I have been using this 'Ultra Rich' cream for the last few months, as even just putting plain water on my skin dries it out from http://www.essential-care.co.uk/organic-ultra-rich-329-0.html. i've had the same pot for a few months now & i'm only halfway through it..

The reason just plain water dries out your skin is because the ph is 7 sometimes a little higher.  It is to high and of course will cause dry skin and dry hair.

The last few days I have noticed that my skin is getting smoother (on my face) and many rough places, dark spots and small wrinkles are disappearing.  All the little wrinkles seem to be reversing themselves.  I've been sticking with the Genoma Skin creams.  Since my skin is more on the thin, dry side, I'm using the Night Creme day and night, along with the Eye Creme, under my eyes and around my lips.  I use the Day Creme as a refresher during the day.
Just had to share that the results have been impressive!

Awesome Victoria!  I'm having very similar results.  I use the night cream, eye cream and the day cream.  I had weird red spots that have now vanished and my skin has a more even texture and tone.  What's best to me though is that my makeup looks fresh all day if I use the eye and day cream.  It never falls in the little lines around my face.  This is the best stuff I ever used.

I think the proof of Genoma's success is in the long term changes.  There are substances in the products that reverse damage to the skin and serve as antioxidants, promoting healthy skin.

I've used many products, both pre-made high quality, natural, as well as formulas that I've made.  All have had their good points, but this is the first one that has surprised me with the long-range changes in my skin.

Genoma Skin Cremes:
"Wrinkles, sagging skin, and pigment deposits may stem less from the sun and more from one-way sugar molecules that we make as part of the aging process but cannot remove. With no small amount of irony, scientists call these wrong-way sugars AGE molecules (the AGE stands for Advanced Glycation End-products). Unlike most other complex sugars, AGE molecules are not easily removed from the body. And because they stay in place for years, the immune system can react to tissues they deposit in, causing inflammation, damage, and aging."

Some actions of the ingredients in the 3 cremes:

~stop stiffening of collagen fibers
~block tissue-aging glycation
~improve hydration, firmness and smoothness of the skin and clearly reduce wrinkle depth
~enhance drainage of the lymphatic channels underlying the skin and enhance tissue detoxification
~reverses the effects of oxidative stress, the cause of wrinkles, sagging and age spots

Well whatever the science is Victoria as you so kindly typed out there...I'm LOVIN' the stuff.  It works awesome.  I used to have a horse farm for years and have quite a bit of sun damage on my face from days unprotected in harsh weather and sun.  I tried different products from expensive to thrifty...from high tech to basic ingredients...NONE WORKED LIKE THIS.  I'm very happy with my purchase and it lasts a very very long time.

Just a little dab will do ya.

I use Badger sunscreen on my girls...they look like geishas when they wear it but I don't care. They HATE it though, it's rather thick.

For me, I use the Kiss my Face sunscreen for "Face and Neck", it's spf 30. It goes perfectly under my mineral makeup and doesn't make me oily.

Frosty I've looked for Neroli oil, and found one that I guess is very diluted with jojoba oil...where do you get yours? Would it be ok to use the diluted one with jojoba? I also saw the cocoa butter...it smells delicious. I have fine lines on my cheeks when I smile because of stuff I've used for the last year or so for acne on my cheeks. I don't get it there anymore...and I want something really nice and thick for my face for nighttime. Do you think if I were to mix cocoa butter, walnut oil, and the jojoba-neroli oil with some beeswax that would be a nice cream for me for these little fine lines? Could it possibly be pore clogging? I can't eat chocolate because it clogs my pores but I would love to put that cocoa butter all over my face at night...lol.

Jesi,
While your waiting for Frosty    I couldn't find Neroli oil either. So I just used her recipe for night eye cream with coconut oil, walnut oil, beeswax and rosewater.  Gently warmed in a double boiler, slightly cooled and poured into little "lip gloss" size containers.  It's the BEST nighttime moisturizer for around the eyes.  I've given them as gifts for my sisters, sister-in-laws.  No pore clogging, at least not on me

And I've been using Genoma skincare products for the last month, cleanser, toner and moisturizer.  Truly the best skin products I have ever used.  The cleanser cleans thoroughly but gently.  Both the day and night moisturizer glide on so easily and make my skin feel so nice.  A little goes along way.

I agree!  Over time, these products are actually lessening the signs of wrinkling.  I always thought I needed such rich creams on my face because my skin was very dry and thin.  After a year on Genoma I no longer have dry skin and Genoma is definitely not loaded with oil.  So light, and only a couple of drops for the whole face.  I'm in love with the products.

Yes, yes, yes

I was using moroccan oil, similar to grapeseed oil, but so heavy and oily on my skin.  I'm so glad I finally tried Genoma products.  Wished I had done it sooner

I wish I was having good results. I am so full of acne. Feel like a teen again. Probably caused from toxins being released from the rest of the nasty fat I am losing or hormones.

Could that be why I am getting large dark spots on my face as well? Not feeling very pretty at the moment.

The Genoma line has really helped me with lightening that type of thing.

I'm thinking that consistently going through a couple of bottles of Hepitaguard would do you a lot of good.  Your past lifestyle was not that good for your liver and this would help to clean and heal it.  ..  just my opinion.

Are you using Genoma? I have a little bit of acne too...mostly big ones along my jaw. It happens when I am not 100% compliant and then one week out of the month. Birth control makes my skin flawless, so I'm guessing it could be hormonal as well as what I eat. Either way I hate it. I am also starting to see fine lines because of all the stuff I've used for the acne...does the Genoma cream make your skin moisturized? I used a cream before that I absolutely loved, the Affirm 3X, but it's a retinol and I've read some scary things about some of the ingredients. I am going to buy the genoma one next week and try it out....I wish Dr D would make something for acne and wrinkles. I think so many adult women suffer from acne these days.

Genoma is a good moisturizer.  Sometimes if I want extra moisturizing, I add 1 drop of Emu oil to the Genoma and rub my hands together before applying.  That's a perfect combo for me.

I don't think it would address hormonally caused acne, but it has worked beautifully at minimizing those little wrinkles that were appearing.

Maybe FemBalance would be a good approach for hormonal balancing.

I am using Genoma. It may be too rich for my skin or just a coincidence that I have been getting acne since using it. Maybe I will stop for a bit to see. It is mostly around the hairline and jaw for me. They are deep and nasty and are scaring me. Good thing I have darker skin.

Have you changed your haircare products recently, or is your hair especially oily.  It sounds scalp related.

I have been using the Genoma skin care products for about 6 months and love the way they feel. I still think my skin is aging faster than it should but I do live in a very arid desert.
I wondered if anyone also uses the Genoma derma supplement? I just ordered it so hope it helps, too.

Awww I feel for ya sister. I am in the same boat. My skin drives me insane and it seems to consume me, because I try everything out there. So far, the niacinamide cream has worked wonders. I had a big one on my cheek and two or three painful (the kind you can't see but they hurt?) on my jaw, and only used it last night...everything is gone today. The one on my cheek is a little tiny bit red but totally flat (I messed with it). The big invisible ones are gone. I would highly recommend this cream to you.

The fembalance kind of scares me because chasteberry bloats me like crazy. I actually have a big bottle sitting in my cabinet. I have really low progesterone and pretty low estrogen, yet my testosterone is kinda high for a girl. I actually have higher free testosterone than my husband. I think there is a connection there with the testosterone and acne, a friend once mentioned it to me.

I made some lotions from the recipes Frosty listed, and I have to say the one I made for me eyes is amazing. I mixed cocoa butter (instead of coconut) with walnut oil and bees wax, and instead of rosewater I used really strong chamomile tea with crushed fennel seeds. I am loving it, and gave the recipe to a bunch of friends. Thanks Frosty!

I was also taking a supplement with maca in it, to balance out the hormones, it's called Opticrine. It didn't do anything. I don't know much about the female hormones (I know more about the thyroid ones), so I'm not sure what the balance is supposed to be, as in which ones need to be higher, etc.

I was having a very similar problem. I wrote on the forum a couple of weeks ago about my skin.  I was wondering if I was missing a nutrient due to cutting out wheat from my diet.  I also suspected a mite irritating me or possibly developing some type of hay fever or seasonal allergy for the first time in my 60 years.  Another thing that seemed like a possibility was a detox.  I have been on BTD for years and years and SWAMI for 2 years.

I had started the Genoma skin care products about two weeks prior.

I decided to do a few things at once, so I am not sure what helped.  I went on a mad mite killing frenzy (don't think there were too many because I stay on top of that).  Thinking of allergy and inflammation on my face, I started taking MSM as recommended by Dr D for both of those things for me, a B.  And I went back to my olive oil soap for my face.

I am all better now.  And my rosacea is almost nil, better than in quite a while, which makes me think MSM is the thing I needed.  I am going to go back to the Genoma products to see how that goes.  I loved what they were doing for my skin.

See what your allergy and inflamation protocol calls for.

Please list the quantities for the cocoa butter, walnut oil and bees wax you mixed for your eyes.  I am just using straight coconut oil on my face and it has really helped with the dryness.
