I searched for the thread regarding this cream...

Ok I got it several months ago and did not use it... then after expecting and looking at all of my face creams it looked like the one that was the safest.  I have been using it with my carrot cleanser and toner and this week I have gotten glowing results.

*Must be honest I think I would have used it before now but was turned off by the smell.  All the creams I have used in the past have smelled good enough to eat and this one smells more like what a man would use.  After about 4 days I did not notice the smell as much.

Not sure if it's because I am expecting or the cream... but I am glowing...

I am ready to purchase the mask and night cream....

I'm using it also. I like it in the summer. It's so light and cooling. The scent is ok.

Hmmm – I don’t notice the scent at all.  Other creams I’ve tried, I do and it bothered me.

Anyway, I love it.

I want to get some for christmas. It's on my list.

I think it lasts. I waited until the summer to use mine because it's so light. For me, I think I need something heavier over it for the winter. It spreads very easily so you don't waste any.

About 2 months if you just use it once daily on the face.

I went to the hairdresser last Thursday and she asked me what product I used on my face because it was smooth (for my age) and I didn’t have any make-up on.  

I took off of work today because I was gone all weekend and had household chores to attend to.  I did a yoga make-up in the morning.  There was this lady there who was also making up but I didn’t know her because I attend week-end and night classes whereas she goes during the day.  I noticed she was struggling a bit, so I suggested she might want to look into the senior exercise classes where they get a punch card and can attend at their leisure.  She said she thought you had to be 65 and she was only 57.  I said I was 57 also, but I thought the classes were for 55 & up.  I just looked it up and I was right.  Good comeback from an awkward situation.  I would have guessed her age as 68.  

I think exercising regularly, eating right for my type, and using Genoma skin cream all help.

Using Genoma is my way of giving myself a non-surgical face-lift.

I remember getting 3 of the GTD books from there. I'm sure I can find these books there.
I also think I have ability to write, but there is so much literature & only one lifetime to do it all. So I won't overload the system.
Another thing I do for my skin lately is put vitamin E on my face(wile at home-it stinks).  I upgraded to the better E (mixed) & found a good use for the cheapo. Also, diet is sooo important. If I go off or on the wagon, it shows up in my skin as pale or pasty. I'm sure even neutral agave does that. Too bad, as it didn't mess up my blood sugar in the amounts I used.

Mrs. T...Vitamin E oil on a cut helps it to heal...it's one of my favorite remedies.

I just ordered the kit. 84 dollars with shipping, but for 4 products, that is not too bad. Heck, Oil of Olay products are 20 dollars plus per bottle and that makes me break out! I'll be a good test for the Genoma products because I spend so much time out in the Wisconsin cold! I'll let you know how they work.

Ok, I got my Genoma Complete Pack...first of all, the package was all tied up with such a pretty bow...what a nice touch.  I immediately tried all the products out and all I can say is that it far exceeded my expectations. The skin on my face feels so smooth & alive...perked-up in a very special way. The only problem that I have is that the Toner bottle is not spraying...it's spitting droplets of liquid (not a fine spray at all) onto my face and it took several pumps before I was able to get my face wet.  I called NAP and Lynn said that it should not be this difficult to use and she will call me back after she discusses this with the person who might be in a position to help me.  I can still get my face wet and I will still use it as is but would have preferred it if the spray was more fine and if I did not have to pump several times to get the moisture onto my skin.  Lynn said that I may have been the unlucky one who got a defective spray bottle...She thinks that other bottles do emit a fine spray. Do any of you have your Toner yet...if so, does yours emit a fine spray?

Try looking at the end of the plastic straw that goes to the bottom of the bottle, is it too long?

Vicki...the bottle is opaque so I can't see the straw at all.  I can't easily unscrew the cap & I don't want to force it as I might break it. I'll wait until I hear from NAP & see what they have to say.

Good luck with it!  I have a great little spray bottle I'd likely use if I could get the top off.

try pressing it a few times......air sometimes gets caught in the straw......

Lola...thanks for the suggestion.  I tried it but it still "spits".  I do love the entire line of facial products.  Makes my face feel wonderful. I'll just use it "as is"...I can eventually get enugh on my face to wet my skin & that's good enough until I use the bottle up.  

Just an aside...Last night my DH went to a party & ate...oh boy did he eat...this AM he is 3 pounds up from just that one "party" meal...he said "Dr D is right about my type again...my DH said "help me"...you know that I will. It's so good to be needed. Bill has said that he could never do it without my help...& Dr. D's.  

I'm noticing that my hands feel so soft & smooth after I treat my face since I use my hands to apply the Genoma products.  Before I rinse it off, I even leave the Rejuvenating Cleanser on my hands as well as on my face (for a few minutes) as a mask for my hands too. I'm so very pleased with the results of these products on my skin. Thanks again Dr. D. & Martha...you never cease to amaze me...you have lead me to the fountain of youth.   My years keep increasing but the level of my energy & sense of well-being is through the roof.

Rex, Good Customer Service would send out an immediate replacment without questioning. Especially if you're a regular customer.  I'm starting a Customer Service business because I am disgusted with the level of service I have been subjected to from companies and people in the recent past. I will also be giving lectures on it to companies as soon as I have a Power Point presentation prepared.  

Tell your DH don't worry..It's mostly water from party food which is heavily salted. He should never weigh himself after a party or a restaurant meal because of the salt. Tell him to wait till Sunday.  

Mayf...I fear that Bill's weight gain was caused by more than just the salt content...he really pigged out...he brought the menu home to show me how much he had consumed...it was unbelievable...I wouldn't be able to eat that much in an entire weekend and he ate it all in just one evening meal! He was still feeling so full this morning that he could only drink his coffee..."no food please" he said..."I just can't eat anymore right now"! I know that I'll be able to get him back to his new lower weight but this up & down is not very good for him & I want him to stick around with me for a long, long time.

Regarding my Toner, I have not heard back from NAP but I'm sure that they will not disappoint me...their record to date has been exemplary. This morning the droplets have changed to a steady flow but I was under the impressiion that it would be more like a fine mist.

I wonder if Genoma would help the pitting on my cheeks from all the years of acne.

Ribbit...I can't say for sure that it will help the condition that you speak of but it sure will make your face (& your hands too) feel wonderful....so smooth & alive.

Mine arrived between 4 & 5 today. Why things arrive in the short time I am out baffles me. Last year when I got the GTD books, they arrived during the 5 minutes I was in the attic!
Good thing no one stole them as they were left between the 2 doors.

Most likely dermabrasion would have to be the thing to help it. Done by a Dermatologist. Maybe now they can do it with laser.

I have my hosptial/work sponsored party tonight at a fancy catered place, I will have my genoma on and be taking my deflect.

Mayf...yes, they are scented.  The scent is a bit different from that of the Day Light Cream...not really a sweet scent but I'm not very much into scents so a medicinal-type of scent is ok as far as I'm concerned....it doesn't bother me at all.  Yesterday I used the night cream during the day because I had to walk a few blocks in the extreme cold & very windy weather.  My face was totally protected...no wind burn effect at all...as I said...I love this line of Genoma products.  

In defense of NAP when they sent me the Hunter pack instead of the Explorer pack they immediately sent me out the correct order.   I have never had any issues with their customer service.

I haven’t ordered the pack yet.   I was concerned about the Mung bean in the night cream.  It has been a consistent avoid for me (BTD, GTD, Swami).  I get very confused when it comes to what can be absorbed through my skin into my bloodstream and what is only a bother if ingested.  We are warned against various toxins in hair, skin, perfumes, etc that can be dangerous to our health.  There are topical medications that affect us.  So how do we know that an item in our avoid list is only bad for us via the tummy?

Red...Yes, I agree NAP is wonderful...their customer service is excellent...definitely no defense necessary...I never feel that I have to be concerned about them...they have always done the right thing & I have no doubt that they will do the right thing this time. I wish all companies that I do business were like NAP.

Yes, NAP has fast shipping acurate orders and high quality supplements and friendly service. No problem there. I have no other problems with NAP.. IMHO, I just felt that they shouldn't have questioned you and make you wait till they ask someone about the sprayer. Just apologize and send out another one. That's what I would've done.

Red, noticed on my catch up reading that no one had commented so - to put my 2 bob's worth in - Maybe the reaction wouldn't be as severe as it would be if ingested through your stomach (but depends on what substance is eh ) but in my exp of reactions, I am always cautious of an ingredient in a cream if its an avoid
Eg garlic put in your shoe will make your breath smell so obviously things go thru' your system...
I have problems with soybeans so won't even try cosmetics (or   bio oil - which is s'posed to be gr8 for scarring)) that contain it...
On the other hand NAP would be able to advise better....

Maybe I should call NAP instead of ordering it on-line and ask their advice regarding the Mung beans.

I called NAP and they said it should be OK because it was topical.  I’ll let you know after I have used it for a bit.

Thanks Red for posting again re this, Good to know from NAP... Hope it goes well... I had a reaction to a "natural" face cream here in NZ, week or so back. They have very kindly offered to replace and give me a free product - (extremely good of them) so I'm now in the process of trying to choose something I think I'll be ok with. The original cream was for normal to dry skin but also had limonene (+ 2 other citrus ingredients) and I think, oddly, it was the citrus, tho' I'm fine eating lemon/lime; or it may have been just too rich   I do have very dry, but extremely sensitive skin....

I am very picky about skin & hair products.  Different products can make me itch, break out in a rash, or inhibit my breathing (fragrances).  I borrowed some hand cream at work and had to wash it off then take a Benadryl.   My hairdresser put a new product on my head and it started itching (a mousse, I think).  We had to re-wash my hair.  She said she’d mark in my chart to only use organics on me.  I don’t wear nail polish any more because the fumes gave me a headache.  Therefore, I am always concerned whenever I try out something new.

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat - seeing as we are diff blood groups; wonder if it has anything to be with being a nonnie I used a friend's pefume once and it gave me a headache immediately... I will be very interested how you go with the Genoma products. Maybe that's my next step

I received my order last night and tried the cleanser, toner and night cream.  I had no adverse reactions.

I see the day cream has gone down from 1.7 oz to 1.67 oz.  They changed the design of the label to match the set, I guess.  The day & cleanser have a white label.  The cleanser & night cream have a forest green label.  I liked the coloring of the last label better.  Same type bottle which is eons better than the 1st ugly brown glass one they had.   I like the double helix on the labels.

But the important thing is how well these products work and what results will my skin have.  

OK next on my wish list is hand cream and body lotion or butter.

After putting the cream on my face I rub it on my hands also.  It has helped me during this cold winter when my knuckles usually look like they have little cuts in them.

I have been having trouble with the container itself. My first bottle of the original cream would not pump up. I opened it and just used a Q-tip to get out the rest. My new night-time cream started this tonight...Help...Aani

I went to the Park District’s Health Fair and fitness Expo on Saturday.   There was a distributor table for Nu Skin Galvanic Spa system.   This lady really depressed me.  She told me I looked like I was in my mid 60s.  I am 57.  She told me to look at the other lady and in my head I guessed her to be around 60 yrs old.  The younger lady said the other lady was 60 but you’d never know it by looking at her skin.  Both of them had make-up on, I didn’t.  I was looking in this mirror that magnifies your every pore. She said I should wear a sun block because I have sun damage.  I never wear one because I want the vitamin D.  Afterward I went and talked to my fitness instructor who I’ve known for 10 years.  She says she looks at the whole picture and overall I looked younger.  She also knew that I had been a smoker for 45 years.  I only quit a year ago and I cheat when I drink.  New year’s resolution not to cheat.  Also in my teens and 20’s I’d sunbath with baby lotion on my body.  I felt a little better.  I think I’m doing well for all the abuses I’ve put my body through.  Then I saw the Park Districts fitness trainer and nutritionist who I’ve also known for 10 years.   I was concerned that my BMI and fat measurement wouldn’t be good because I couldn’t exercise for 4 months after my knee injury and I was just now getting back into shape.  The 10 lbs I recently lost also shows in my face.  I need to do those face exercises.  Well my BMI was normal and my % body fat was good.  The stupid health assessment I took at work wanted to put me on a weight loss diet.  Hello muscle weighs more than fat, if my clothes fit, then I’m happy.

Bottom line, their 10 minute spa treatment results disappeared in a couple of hours.  I’m not paying $350 for a device that has results like that.  I will stick with Dr. D’s Genoma line and do those funny face exercises.

Hey Red, Don't you just hate those sales people that sell by trying to make you feel inferior - esp when they're all made up and you aren't - and you end up believing them and buy their product just cos you feel bad... Maybe you should have said what you thought the other lady's  age was just to see what the rep would say   I so don't trust anyone who is just trying to sell something. Selling is about relationship and it sure doesn't sound as if this "lady" knew that...

Don't worry Red, you look fine. Those women just say those things to sell you $350 treatments because they make commission on them.  I bought a Derma Wand and I was using it and my skin looked worse when I wasn't using it. It dried it out and it looked..cooked.  The Derma Wand is some kind of electrial appliance that you go over one's face with.  I'm going to sell it on ebay.  

I also read that those facial exercises make you wrinkle faster not make you look better.  Because using your facial muscles is what causes wrinkles in the first place. Repeated frowning..(frown lines) repeated smiling (smile line) repeated squinting (crows feet)... see what I mean?  The only exercise that I thought was useful was the turkey neck exercise.  I couple of years ago I saw an infomercial for a ball that you put under your chin to squeeze and it had good results for people who had loose skin in the neck area.  I don't have that problem yet.   But then of course we can always get a life style lift.  (another infomercial)

RL, that's what I call a conflict of interest!  I don't know how such people can sleep.  I guess years of ignoring your conscience will silence it eventually, just like years of eating wrong will silence your body's warnings against those bad foods.

Well that's a blatant lie eh? Some salesmen (and women) will tell you anything just to get hold of your details.... Some of them even have competitions that are "never won" just to get that all important list for potential sales...

Let's see...

For those who had issues, I have a few possible reasons why!

1) You can open any of the bottles by twisting the gray neck at the top of the bottle, making it easier to transfer to other bottles, for air travel, for instance.

2) Sediment had gathered on the bottom of my toner bottle.  I simply shook well and it hasn't settled again (with daily use).  If the base of the sprayer tube was in the same location as the sediment, then you may get issues with it not being able to spray properly.  Just shake or check the bottom of your bottle for a brown spot.

3) My face cream started "farting" today   The cream is thick enough that I've encountered an air pocket.  I've tapped the bottle on a hard surface to move the air pocket.

My skin is very sensitive and I've been happy with the results thus far.  I may need to stop using the toner or may need additional moisture support because my face is so sensitive.

I love how the bottles are all designed to minimize bacterial contamination!

I am going to butt in here and give my 2 cents, for what it is worth.

I am a paramedical aesthetician, been one since 1986.  I have my own skin care clinic here in Arizona and I have personally tried that NuSkin Galvanic Spa system and was not impressed.  It is nothing but multi-level marketing.  The sales people know NOTHING, they aren't even required to be licensed to sell it.  The sales people are programmed to tell you what it does, but if you ask them something about the skin, they know diddly.  To me that is like trying to sell cars when you don't even know how to drive.   Don't get me wrong, it will work if you are willing to go through the routine of using it daily.  The results just are not all that impressive, IMO.  It's another device that women will buy use a couple of times and toss it in a drawer because it is a bother to have to do it daily.  We will see them at garage sales here in a few years. ha ha ha

Skin care products and devices are the marketing schemes of the millenium.  Just watch some late night TV or Sunday mornings all kinds of skin care and devices are being sold on infomercials and now MLM's. Most of it is JUNK and sadly people buy it.

It also sounds like this woman was trying hard to sell this device by telling you look older than you are.  Did you ask her to guess your age?  I am assuming not.  I am sure her sales tactic works on alot of women, otherwise she wouldn't say something like that or she is hard up for a sale.  

First off know this, she wasn't any type of "real skin care professional" aesthetician, paramedical aesthetician or dermatologist and only a professional, one that sees and treats skin all day long could really give you a worthwhile opinion.  I really hate it when my patients ask me what I think of their skin.  The reason is because I won't lie to them.  For the most part, women don't come through my door until it is time for damage control.  Most women don't think about taking care of their skin until they see the wrinkles coming on.  I have a handful that come to me to maintain their skin that have taken care of and they look great.

Butting in again.  IMO you really should wear sunscreen on your face. The number one way to fight premature aging is sunscreen.  I understand that you want and need the Vit D, I hear ya and I am with ya on that.  Put sunscreen on your face.  Take off your mittens or roll up your sleeves when you are outside.  If you don't care about aging prematurely, or getting hyperpigmentation (commonly known as liver spots, or age spots or darker areas of the skin) then don't wear the sunscreen.

On a lighter note.  I got some samples of the Genoma Skin Care at the conference yesterday.  I am excited to try it.  I love the products I carry in my clinic with the exception of my natural marine line.  I need to replace it with something good.  I am boxing the marine line up this week and dropping it at the womans shelter, it will be a treat for them.

I apologize if this was posted before. Where can I find list of ingredients for the day cream?

Thanks frosty.  I bet a lot of women do get pulled in by that line.  How many of us have gadgets that sounded great at the time, but were just too much bother.   I know I do.  I’m glad I didn’t get suckered in this time.  

Dropping things off at a women’s shelter sounds like a great idea.  I bet they’ll love it.

OMG Vicki!!!  Yes the infamous epilator, aka epilady and many other names.

I was dumb enough to fall for that one.  Of all people, ME!  I should have known better!  The biggest red flag that it was junk was the "it's painless" statement.  Painless my butt!  It hurt like heck!!  And as well it should, it is pulling your hair out, there is nothing painless about that.  

I have never bought skin creame, but I bought the Genoma. I love it.

I really like the smell when I apply the night creame, it is very calming.

I like the pump bottles it helps me not to waste a drop or over use it.

Now I have to sell enough stuff on ebay to buy more once it runs out.

At the beginning of December my hands did what they always do every winter.  The knuckles and finger joints crack and bleed.  My hands look like alligator hands.  I should buy stock in hand cream.

I got the Genoma night cream on December 24, 2008.  I had been using the day cream, but only on my face.  I decided to put a dab on my hands at night and in the morning.  It is now the middle of January and I do not have cracked hands.  I still use hand cream during the day to supplement.  We’ve had a very rough winter.  I’m impressed.

I love the cleanser!  It has my favorite scent of all the line, and gets my skin truly clean without drying it out at all.  (Usually I have to put on moisturizer after using a cleanser, even though my skin is somewhat oily, but that's not necessary with this cleanser. It's nice to add the moisturizer after, but I don't suffer if I skip it.)

I really was happy with the products I was using before Genoma, but I won't be going back to them.  All I need now is a Genoma Shampoo and Conditioner  

Oh, and since this might be a good place to ask, I furrow my brow when I sleep and am developing wrinkles between my eyebrows.  Are Frownies worth it (the stickers that you stick on your face), or is there a better solution?  I've heard scotch tape might work just as well.

So nobody else has trouble with the moisterizers coming out? I guess I should call NAP. I love the product though...Aani

I do get air pockets (farting ) when dispensing the night creme.  I simply tap the product to move the air pocket if it persists.

Sold by weight not volume, so you aren't missing any product

Yes Aani, mine is not coming out.  When I looked inside, the straw came loose from the top.  So I tried using some tweezers to fish it out but couldn't.  Now I have the bottle up side down.  That seems to work.

I've done that too.  I don't think there is a straw in there. I hate to have to tap it out. I like the little bit that comes out with the pump. The more you use it the less you have to use...Aani

I have to bring this thread up again. There are no words that I can say to tell you how pleased I am with this product. After using it for several months my skin feels so good, so very soft. Very few pimples (even at my age I would get some nasty ones). My pores are so much smaller and cleaner ( I had very large and dirty pores ).  Yes I still have my wrinkles but at my age, so what? Maybe this stuff will slow them down...Aani

Sounds like a well formulated product. Has anybody experienced what dermatologists call 'skin fatigue' with the product? That is, most products simply stop working for some skins. Related to enzymatic disruption in the skin - don't worry it's non fatal and easily reversed by adopting a protocol in which you use the product less often ie a few days a week instead of daily or you have a short break from it. Andrea's daughter probably provides a good example of how a well formulated product works particularly well after resting the skin (before the skin has time to tire of the active ingredients in the cream).

Wish this was available outside the US and not just on mail order... My DH won't let me order online   Do they send samples at all, so at least I can show him that is is so good and worth buying?

This isn't good, it contaminates the product and diminishes the efficacy.  I would call NAP and advise them of the problem so they can address it with company that is bottling their products.

Thanks for posting this.  I have dedicated a whole chapter about this in the book that I am writing.  This also happens with products like shampoo and deordorants.  All to often patients or customers quit using a product because they don't think it is working anymore.  When actually they are experiencing "skin fatigue".  Shifting your regimine for a week and then returning to the product you love will jump start your skin again.

It's an interesting effect, but apparently it doesn't happen with retinoids. Are you a dermatologist Frosty?

Worse stuff than burns. Some very recent research has shown a connection between tazorac use and an increase in mortality amongst older men. It's not a well designed study at all but it's got alarm bells ringing.

No I am not a dermatologist.  I am a paramedical aesthetician and have been since 1986.  I have worked closely with derms and plastics over the years and have a pretty good working knowledge of the skin.  I ventured out on my own back in 1999 opening my own skin care and permanent makeup clinic that is results oriented.  Basicly, I am hard core skin care and PMU and I do not do any "princess treatments" in my practice.

I am also a 17 year veteran flight attendant that is looking forward to retirement some day.  The job has given me a lot of freedom and I only work approx 45 days per year, this year far less than that maybe only 20 days and that is why I haven't quit.  With that freedom I have had the time to culitivate my skin care practice and spend the majority of my time doing what I love and that is making women look and feel beautiful.

Many of my patients or clients are flight attendants and their skin really needs the help.  Since they are in a tube of recirculating dry air all day long and as about as close to elements of bad UVA rays that you can get, their skin gets dry, tough and asphyxiated, resembling that of an orange peel.  I also happen to have several nurses that are regulars.  They generally work long hours and are so busy caring for others that taking care of their skin is a low priority for them UNTIL they start aging.  However, I have found that to be the case with a lot of women.  Menopause strikes and their skin starts to take a nose dive, it's like a light goes on and a bell goes off and they come rushing in saying HELP, CAN YOU HELP ME?  If I can't, I sure know who can and I refer them off to a plastics doc.  I eventually get them back after their nip and tuck for maintanence and they are very compliant at that point.

Well that is my story.  I am just a gal in Arizona that has a huge respect for the largest organ our bodies have and our first line of defense, the skin.
