has anyone had any experience making a low-irritant cleanser and moisturiser? i am giving in.. admitting defeat.. the cosmetics industry may own my soul but no longer will it drain my pocket! (hmmm, one and the same thing?!) the problem for me is complex formulas are too irritating, on the flip-side simple ones only do one job, ie, if i were to only use coconut oil it would still sit on my skin all shiny and greasy looking, same with evoo, rosehip oil etc. i tried making a cleanser - it was not bad! (oatmeal, lecithin, water and coconut oil) BTW i don't really enjoy making this stuff, I *like* the convenience of a preserved tube or bottle, but i am also keen to get my healthy skin back. Apparently i have been doing all the wrong things -using essential oils and products loaded with same. a home-made moisturiser or hydrating cleanser is what i am after - lecithin is a key here i think, i have been reading about the pH of skin and skincare products, an emulsion of coconut oil, lecithin, water and maybe evoo would be rather great i think... will experiment for now though i shall have to pass my Genoma onto my Ma just found Frostys' moisturizer recipe! THANKS - i thought I had seen all your posts on recipes and thought they were all cleansers. |

If I am at home, I have used vitamin E on my face & later washing it off gently in the shower. It seems to help the skin. I don't use sunscreen, but may use a good cream like Aubrey on my skin. They say commercial sunscreens are toxic & it sure smells like it! |

Sunscreens have been a topic of discussion and debate plenty on this forum. Being in the business of skin for over 20 years I have been privy to seeing what the sun can do to the skin and just how toxic it is. I have seen some nasty skin cancers caused by the sun and it kills. There are safe sunscreens, not all are toxic. It only takes one really bad case of skin cancer to make one a believer in sunscreen. But by then it may be to late. Wake up people skin cancer kills!!!! Is that toxic enough for you? |

I do find that the Badger sunscreen is a bit lumpy when it comes out of the tube, if you rub it between your fingers the lumps eventually go away.
Does the Badger sunscreen look white on your skin or does it blend in? I keep having visions of lifeguards and their white noses from zinc oxide sunscreen. |

Thanks for this thread. After a cold, dry winter I am having facial skin irritation which feels like a burn all the time. I will try some of the above suggestions and see what happens. |

Vitamin K is applied topically twice daily for dark circles under the eyes. It helps repair and restore broken capillaries, it also helps tighten, tone and firm the skin. I find it to be most useful under the eyes, but can be used on other parts to of the face to help eliminate broken capillaries. The trick is consistancy and patience, it works, it just takes time. |

The reason just plain water dries out your skin is because the ph is 7 sometimes a little higher. It is to high and of course will cause dry skin and dry hair. |

The last few days I have noticed that my skin is getting smoother (on my face) and many rough places, dark spots and small wrinkles are disappearing. All the little wrinkles seem to be reversing themselves. I've been sticking with the Genoma Skin creams. Since my skin is more on the thin, dry side, I'm using the Night Creme day and night, along with the Eye Creme, under my eyes and around my lips. I use the Day Creme as a refresher during the day. Just had to share that the results have been impressive! |

Awesome Victoria! I'm having very similar results. I use the night cream, eye cream and the day cream. I had weird red spots that have now vanished and my skin has a more even texture and tone. What's best to me though is that my makeup looks fresh all day if I use the eye and day cream. It never falls in the little lines around my face. This is the best stuff I ever used. |

I think the proof of Genoma's success is in the long term changes. There are substances in the products that reverse damage to the skin and serve as antioxidants, promoting healthy skin.
I've used many products, both pre-made high quality, natural, as well as formulas that I've made. All have had their good points, but this is the first one that has surprised me with the long-range changes in my skin.
Genoma Skin Cremes: "Wrinkles, sagging skin, and pigment deposits may stem less from the sun and more from one-way sugar molecules that we make as part of the aging process but cannot remove. With no small amount of irony, scientists call these wrong-way sugars AGE molecules (the AGE stands for Advanced Glycation End-products). Unlike most other complex sugars, AGE molecules are not easily removed from the body. And because they stay in place for years, the immune system can react to tissues they deposit in, causing inflammation, damage, and aging."
Some actions of the ingredients in the 3 cremes:
~stop stiffening of collagen fibers ~block tissue-aging glycation ~improve hydration, firmness and smoothness of the skin and clearly reduce wrinkle depth ~enhance drainage of the lymphatic channels underlying the skin and enhance tissue detoxification ~reverses the effects of oxidative stress, the cause of wrinkles, sagging and age spots |

Well whatever the science is Victoria as you so kindly typed out there...I'm LOVIN' the stuff. It works awesome. I used to have a horse farm for years and have quite a bit of sun damage on my face from days unprotected in harsh weather and sun. I tried different products from expensive to thrifty...from high tech to basic ingredients...NONE WORKED LIKE THIS. I'm very happy with my purchase and it lasts a very very long time.
Just a little dab will do ya. |

I use Badger sunscreen on my girls...they look like geishas when they wear it but I don't care. They HATE it though, it's rather thick.
For me, I use the Kiss my Face sunscreen for "Face and Neck", it's spf 30. It goes perfectly under my mineral makeup and doesn't make me oily. |

Frosty I've looked for Neroli oil, and found one that I guess is very diluted with jojoba oil...where do you get yours? Would it be ok to use the diluted one with jojoba? I also saw the cocoa butter...it smells delicious. I have fine lines on my cheeks when I smile because of stuff I've used for the last year or so for acne on my cheeks. I don't get it there anymore...and I want something really nice and thick for my face for nighttime. Do you think if I were to mix cocoa butter, walnut oil, and the jojoba-neroli oil with some beeswax that would be a nice cream for me for these little fine lines? Could it possibly be pore clogging? I can't eat chocolate because it clogs my pores but I would love to put that cocoa butter all over my face at night...lol.

Jesi, While your waiting for Frosty I couldn't find Neroli oil either. So I just used her recipe for night eye cream with coconut oil, walnut oil, beeswax and rosewater. Gently warmed in a double boiler, slightly cooled and poured into little "lip gloss" size containers. It's the BEST nighttime moisturizer for around the eyes. I've given them as gifts for my sisters, sister-in-laws. No pore clogging, at least not on me And I've been using Genoma skincare products for the last month, cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Truly the best skin products I have ever used. The cleanser cleans thoroughly but gently. Both the day and night moisturizer glide on so easily and make my skin feel so nice. A little goes along way. |

I agree! Over time, these products are actually lessening the signs of wrinkling. I always thought I needed such rich creams on my face because my skin was very dry and thin. After a year on Genoma I no longer have dry skin and Genoma is definitely not loaded with oil. So light, and only a couple of drops for the whole face. I'm in love with the products. |

Yes, yes, yes I was using moroccan oil, similar to grapeseed oil, but so heavy and oily on my skin. I'm so glad I finally tried Genoma products. Wished I had done it sooner |

I wish I was having good results. I am so full of acne. Feel like a teen again. Probably caused from toxins being released from the rest of the nasty fat I am losing or hormones. |

Could that be why I am getting large dark spots on my face as well? Not feeling very pretty at the moment. |

The Genoma line has really helped me with lightening that type of thing. I'm thinking that consistently going through a couple of bottles of Hepitaguard would do you a lot of good. Your past lifestyle was not that good for your liver and this would help to clean and heal it. .. just my opinion. |
