A little about myself, growing up I've always been unwell and lately I've found out that it was due to an injury as a kid. I got hit in the nose by a line drive baseball in litte league. Since then it didn't heal right and I've had underlying nasal issues. This issue has caused all types of food intolerances which over time just made me into a sick self-centered person, that I have to constantly fight off and remind myself that I am ill and need to be on the diet and think more of others instead of myself. Being on the diet helps me to be in less pain and think less of myself. It a hard diet to be on, really hard but it definitely pays off big time. I'm going to write another once I have surgery on my nose so I put in a fresh perspective. Thanks. |

Same thing happened to my husband. I don't remember how he broke his nose--some sort of sports injury when he was about 13 I think--but it didn't heal right and he can only breathe through one nostril. Makes him snore. He's considered having it operated on, but....well....$$$$$$$$$. We have children to feed. Keep us updated on your testimonials. We all like to hear them. |

Thank you Saverain, and I hope that your healing continues. Over time, this transformation can help us on all levels, and the pain that we have experienced in our bodies can also be seen by the pain in our emotional natures. Not only does the body heal, but the mind and emotions can also come into alignment with wellness.
I look forward to hearing from you more as the journey continues. |

Well, sure, but I don't guess it would cover something that's voluntary. It's not like he has to have it. |

It's probably considered an "optional" surgery, since he can still breathe through one side. |

I think most insurance will cover it, if it's not cosmetic... |

Well, he just said, "It probably would cover it, but who cares?" I guess he's decided it's okay to live with. |

Doctor Croak, if you can believe it (not an MD, thankfully, or else he wouldn't be on this diet ). |

Actually, as a Christian, I believe we were made out of dirt, but that's sort of beside the point. |

Saverain, I hijacked the thread. I'm sorry. This was about your surgery. Will you tell us how things are when it's done? |

Good day everyone. I started the BTD May 11th and feel better. I had read about it years ago, and then for some reason heard about it again and thought well give it a try. I have bursitis and some arthritis and thought I will do anything to get rid of the pain in my hips and thighs. So in the beginning week, I did great, lost 10 lbs and felt good. slowly started eating a tad more processed stuff ( but still tying to keep to the list) and have re found the weight but still feel good. I dont know about the secretor part, cant find the test to do on self on first page ( saw this in another answer to a newbie) for info on geno type too. I wonder about the secretor as I know I am a candidate for candida big time. but so far so good. I have to start some of your guys recipes cos am getting prettty sick of brocolli, caulif. and carrots. lol not a huge veggie fan. But ironically was a carb aholic, and has been for the first time easy to get off the carbs. ezekial bread is great! Am off the dairy too so that wasnt bad and was never a huge red meat eater. do miss my bananas.lol So any info and help would be appreciated, I want to lose wt, and get healthier as I go into my 2nd half of my life. I turned 51 last dec 31st. I have a son that is A and has crohns disease. Reading info, he could be a secretor. he had his first surg. a year ago may and is doing well, but do wish he would find his way with this. but at age 30 he will do as he pleases. thanks for the info on the site and hope to learn more as am a tad overwhelmed. the books were good but had to return to library. thanks Cindy
