I am on BTD/GTD for over a mth now and there are times I cheated I frequently suffers from migranes and stuffy/running nose and since I had gotten them since I was 17, I kind of accepted it to the way of life.
Since I switched to BTD I was wheat-free and when I accidentally eats something with wheat, my nose gets stuff up (small content of wheat ie: Soya sauce) and when I ate a wheat-laden bread (they assured me it was wheat-free - DUH) I got a migrane.
I did a search on wheat allergies and it explained why I got some form of skin rashes a few months ago. I thought it was seafood, but now, I think it's wheat allergies. It all made sense now.
I started BTD to eat healthier and now, it had shed light to my unknown problems
From this incident, I will be good, no more cheating on wheat, I am staying clear of all wheat stuff including those in sauces, fish sauce, soya sauce. no more sushis
Ha! Ha! I misread the title of this thread, and thought that it was "Thanks to BTD - I finally know who I am . ." Well!! I thought, this could describe me too! By cooperating with my body, I find that I have grown in so many other ways atoo.
But then I saw the wheat issue, and I agree with that one also! This is definitely a major point for so many of us, and it doesn't have to be celiac. Wheat is a heavy duty substance, and I often think that it isn't really worthy of being classed as a true food, except for a very few people whose blood type/genotype enables them to thrive on it. I know my health really started turning around in a serious way when I eliminated wheat, and actually all gluten.
Good for you, Printena! Enjoy your food, and those Red Dot dinners, all without wheat.

Heheee Hello Victoria, I was trying to search more info on celiac, it was mentioned to me during our local BTD meet, that I might be celiac, that is why I went searching for wheat allergies.

I like this part. Maybe it is growing older that does this but I feel so much more relaxed overall. The gene for our mental health sits on top of or next to (not sure which) our BT gene so it just makes sense that we would have changes in our personalities as well as our physical bodies. Gene linkage..

wheat gluten intolerant? totally. I tried some spelt pancakes with hubby a couple of months ago and boy did I pay for that! Brain fog delux. I'd never noticed it before. It's amazing how sensitive our bodies get when we eat well and then try an avoid or a black dot. man oh man...
and I love that you brought up how you have grown in so many other ways! I'm so enjoying my new calm and steady place in my mind and body. I don't have the highs and lows anymore of sugar, wheat and caffine. It's such a change.
It's not a place of extreme energy or a big 'wow, I feel fantastic,' it seems to just be a place of easy existance and balance. Love it.
Thank you Dr. D for all your hard work in bringing us the Genotype science. I'm looking forward to the next book and further developments!
In the meantime, I'm still trying to find all those odd vegetables and fruits I've never heard of before on the Hunter lists!
I love it that Dr. D has given us so many tools for geniune Wellness, not just a quick fix for symptoms! It's really a system of positive evolution for the human species!

I went through the same thing. I had terrible allergies. I even asked my allergist whether I was allergic to foods, or whether the foods I was eating made the allergies worse. I already had that intuition about myself. But he said, no, just take the Claritin / Sudaphed / Pulmacort / Allergy shots, etc.
Well, you know what doctor, you're an idiot! I even have a cat in the house now -- the worst allergen-producing thing there is for me -- and I don't even know about it.
Anyway, printenna, don't give up sushi! There are wheat-free soy sauces. Bring some with you if you go out to eat.
My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant. Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index. DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer.

Tell me, I'd love to know....does sushi made in take aways or shops have mayo in them? It's just that my daughter at school had to make sushi and one of the ingredients was mayo!?!
That would depend on the sushi....the stuff I used to buy on the street in the Wall Street area of New York City didn't have mayo, but I was always "angling" for the more fish-chunk types anyway

The cut rolls I've seen that have mayo in them are usually the spicy types, like spicy crunchy tuna, or the ones with fantastic names like "Volcano Roll." If you stick with the plain types -- tuna, salmon, yellowtail are the ones I tend to order -- they seem to be just seaweed, rice and fish.

Yes, they do. Not all sushi are equal. Ok, those that are handrolls, they put an assortment of stuff in them, like crabstick mayo etc. Best is to avoid those handrolls. Go for Sashimi or those sushi with fish on top, those are just rice (with sugar and rice vinegar) + meat/fish/prawns.

ITA! I have 2 cats - one long fur and one short coat but still not allergic to them. Infact I am never allergic to anything, had 3 cases of funny skin rashes and now I think it's wheat related!
I bought those wheatfree soya sauce and I will bring them with me for sushi! yay!! Thanks for the headsup!

Yeah, about the allergies. My husband who is an A had always gotten cold sores. He then started getting into the BTD because he saw that it cured me. He drank orange juice and oranges all of the time and found this was the connection. It was really direct one day he called me from the store. He had just eaten a small portion of an orange (he cheated) and said I'm starting to feel a cold sore. It was that direct.

oh wow! Just like my DH too, cheated with wheat and he got a groogy head. Thanks for sharing!
I never knew I was depressed, I did know I was feeling oppressed in my work environment. I had been considering a total career change for a while but I just could not would not able to do it. Be it look for the job or something, I always had 101 excuses why I can't get the job.
I dove straight into BTD (while DH was away on biz trip), threw out all non-compliant food, started cooking 100% and later plunge into GTD and did the same, threw out all the black dots and started from ground zero.
3rd month on GTD (with some avoids still) I lost 4Kg, I got a new job in a totally different industry, different job scope and I am wearing my older skinnier clothing (saving $$) and much much happier.
