Hello Friends!
Well, I didn't fall off of the wagon, I sort of "jumped off". I was at one of my favorite book stores and found this wonderful Raw Foods cookbook and got sucked in. I bought it and was so in love with the vegetarian , raw way of food preparation that I thought, "hey, I can DO this and be uber healthy!"
So, we all know the value of good fresh food, and of course, the BTD agrees with that. But I found my face breaking out again. I was eating things like raw cashews and avocados, tomatoes, and other things that aren't particularly good for an O secretor with arthritis. Oh, vinegar too.. ! So, the bottom line is that while I really LOVE the raw way of eating, something in it doesn't agree with me the way the BTD does. And I know there are other O's out there who would prefer to eat differently... but in the end.... we have to pay attention to who we really are and what works for us. So that's my story... thought I would share. |

I am a bit of a cookbook "junkie" so I guess that I would just recommend customize it to type O secretor. I take recipes and adjust them as closely as I can. I love Rachael Ray recipes, and I use rice pasta, etc. to make them work. Or I sift through the recipes in the book and find the ones that are compliant. So far it seems to be working. Of course I am not 100% compliant but as far as wheat is concerned I avoid it. I watch the veggies, meats, etc. I think it is doable. But interesting to hear that you broke out. If you switch back to compliant foods, does your skin heal? We have skin issues in our house.....thanks! |

I Paulam. If you're still online, would you mind telling me about how much pasta you eat a day or week? I'm still getting the hang of this and it seems O's shouldn't have starch everyday, even compliant starch. What do you think? I have a hard time eating protein 3 x's a day.... |

this is the reason you are not loosing weight. watch the frequency values for grains given in your book. |

I guess after years and years, we all get to know ourselves pretty well and what works . For me, eating small portions of meat or fish plus lots of bennie veggies with good quality olive oil works... fruit and wheat tend to break my skin out. I think it might be the high glycemic load in the fruit..well, anyway, I am back to what works, which is pretty much the O diet for me. Just passing along tested info!! |
