Well, I started the BTD about 3 years ago and got sceptical many times.  I've had ups and down, thyroid problems, candida, adrenal fatigue and headaches galore.   Now my energy is sustained where as when I started I was falling asleep in the middle of the day and just feeling weak and painful.

I went off the diet about a year ago and tryed several others because I still just wasn't thinking right.  I tryed several other diets and my mind became unstable because I was eating things like rice and certain organic breads.

I found that I still had pain because my overall spirit wasn't strong.  This is where I got into the thymus gland and how your feelings and thoughts affect your health.  If you let things bring you down you will feel down.  If it happens too often your whole body will get sick and depressed and your posture will get bad because your head will be down.  This will make you chronically depressed causing thyroid, adrenal, candida and so on.  Your body just won't be able to fight off attackers.

Ok so I had to change my way of thinking and correct my posture.  I learned stretches to fix my posture and I changed the way I thought about life.  I use to listen to hard rock music with negative lyrics about life but now I don't listen to music but I write and sing my own postive music about love and the beauty of life.   You may think I'm writing about flowers and happy things like that but I write about the beauty of pain and emotion often.  There is beauty everywhere.   You may say I hate my job or I hate this city but if you got up and said I'm not going to focus on the negative, I am not going to let people bring me into their negative world, I am going to create my own world where I only see the positive and not the negative your life will change and life won't be killing you anymore.

This diet works the same way, Dr. D has found the positive foods that make you strong but you need to get your head up in order to be completely well.  Don't let people control how you feel, think of the strength and beauty of life.

Right now a lot of things in my life have changed but the thing that sticks out the most to people around me and too myself is that I am more confident.  I feel like nothings going to bring me down.  People can spit on me, yell at me, dislike me, beat on me and they will not affect me.  I use to be afraid of talking to girls, intimacy and so on.  Girls use to say that I lacked confidence but was a good guy and now girls that I go out with say that I am extremely confident.  I guess in a way letting your emotions get in the way of your logic is not good.  Focusing on the negative fuels your emotions.  Lets say a girl breaks up with me, I will feel sad but if I think of all the thousands of available girls in the area, really this sadness is only temporary.

Also taking life seriously is a flaw in my opinion.  Life is not serious, there is really no such thing as serious.  Lets say I said that you were stupid, you can get mad and say your not and punch me in the face (this is not taking it serious, it's taking offense) or you can say yeh I'm as dumb as a rhinosaurus on tranquilizer darts.  The fact is that words are not suppose to hurt or really mean anything emotionally.  We have instincts that we ignore when we are emotionally distraught.  These instincts are to recover.  I believe this diet helps a lot in that area.

To give an example, Dr. D, ok so he is a doctor and has his own books which sell and you would think that this guy would be docile and do anything to help the people that read his book and are on his diet in a polite manner.  Well it may not mean anything but on this board a while back he replyed to someone's post ,requesting information about a common subject of health, by stating in what seemed to be a rude way that the information can be found anywhere on the internet and told the person to look for herself.  Although this was rude it made me think that this diet may be involved with people being more confident and less docile.  He doesn't seem to let the emotions of, if I say this to this person it may get me in trouble, but he was thinking this is logic, people need to think logically and this is what this diet does.  You may think it's rude but could it be tough love.  I'm sure he's good w/ kids so don't worry but we need to think life is tough and sometimes in order to get out of the tough, harsh ailments we have we need to think logically and not let these emotions caused by depressing foods and lifestyles get in the way.

So thanks BTD for helping get me out of the darkness and into the light.

I think I vaguely remember the discussion and Dr. D post that you referenced. My take on it was slightly different. I think he was trying to get the point across that the best way to learn is to do the work. Research your questions and try to find the answers before asking a question. Read the information so that you can understand the issue in a bigger context. If someone just asks and accepts a short answers to their questions then what have they learned? As you say people should think.

I certainly don't think he was trying to be rude nor did I take it as being rude. Maybe you could call it tough love.

yeah, like the quote I use from Dr D on my signature!
it is all in the perception of things.......
I certainly do not consider it rude, just plain simple truth!

I too remember this ............ only worded just a bit different............but the gist of it was for the person who was asking one of our BTD people, to do a little research instead of just asking someone else for the answers. As we know, if we do the work, we retain the info.
Glad things are going so much better in your life and that you're back to BTD. Lots of good insight in your post as well.

IB, good luck putting up the pic...I've still got my thumb in my mouth as far as computers are concerned...
Great thread, guys!  People need to keep in mind that any studying or learning they acquire under their own steam is empowering for them. Just the action of searching out new info, asking new questions, is flexing your mental and emotional muscles, and makes you stronger and happier.
