I have been on the diet for almost 3 weeks now and I am feeling great!  I have so much energy, i don't know what to do with myself!!!!  I haven't felt like this in years!

I do have a couple of questions....just today i've started to develop a cold "stuffy nose and yuck in my throat, etc). I am a singer and supposed to sing somewhere in one week.  Does anyone know a good remedy to help get rid of this type of stuff????

My second question is this; I've recently started a martial arts program with my O son and husband.  I love it, however I have osteopenia(and i'm only 36) and am concerned about being thrown on the ground...so I was wondering if there is any hope for an O to reverse bone loss?  I would like to continue the class, but want to be sure my spine can take the beating!

Thanks

vit c capsules from rose hips or acerola cherry.

supplement with calcium from NAP and add meat as well as bone broth to your daily menus.
fish and good oils, too.
lots of veggies.......calcium containing ones are many.
kale, spinach, chard.....

Your stuffy nose and "yuck" in the throat may only be your body's way of eliminating toxins. Our bodies are naturally programmed to heal themselves, so when we become ill they rush in to repair the damage. An example is when we have a cut and it naturally heals itself. If your body is detoxifying then that is a good sign and may only last a few days, depending on the damage done over the years. Think of itself as cleaning house, depends how much has been accumulating.

As for the martial arts program, speak with the instructor about your concerns, he/she  should be able to accommodate you, if necessary. What program is it by the way, some, like taekwondo, require little grappling and involve fighting standing up, judo on the other hand....

eating good quality grass feed meat helps you absorb more calcium...also a calcium supplement like Clearcal will help...sounds like your excreting more calcium then your absorbing

Magnesium helps your body absorb the calcium. Weight bearing exercise also helps build up bone strength. About the martial arts class be sure to practice breakfalls and make sure your partner knows not to slam you all the way through the mat. People can through you "easy" if they know they need to. The breakfall practice can help you avoid broken bones in everyday life.

Water with a little lemon juice in it in the morning helps me.

Also taking nettle leaf tea or supplements helps me.

I also use saline nasal sprays,
and have been meaning to get a neti pot:

Thank you all for the helpful advice. The martial arts program I am in a combination of different types; taekwondo, ju-jitsu, etc.  I have a lot of stiffness and tension when i am being thrown...(all i can think about is my back being crunched!)   I know this is an easy way to get hurt, so i am hoping i will be able to learn to relax when i hit the mat.

I think i will try a the Clearcal that you mentioned.  How much magnesium is okay to take?    Also, has anyone heard of using progesterone cream to help with thinning bones?

Could anyone tell me the ratio of salt to water for the neti pot?  e.g. would it be 1 level teaspoon per glass of water or perhaps half this amount of salt?

Thanks in advance
