I also found out last week that much to my surprise, I am a Secretor, so my diet has changed but mostly to include things that are taboo right now.

Today I'm hungry for some reason???

What have you added to your diet? Perhaps more grains? If so there is your answer

I read somewhere out here yesterday (don't recall date of post) about leptins and how they can make or break your weight loss endeavours.  Can someone direct me to more info on this?  (Not lectins but leptins)  Thanks a bunch!

Last week I was standing still with the weight loss, but since Sunday I've lost another 2 pounds. I knew it would go on. With other programs, I would have given up if my weight was the same for almost a week. But now I really don't care I feel better and that's really what matters.

I am having an off day today. I'm really tired, a slight headache and a slimy throat. Feels like I'm coming down with something. Could it be detoxing still you think? Or could it be that I had pepper on my food yesterday?
Ah well, this too will pass. Will get me some aloe though, because it helped me in the past to kick a cold.

This morning in comparison to yesterday again almost 1 pound gone. I keep a chart of my weight and ever since sunday morning it's been a straight line down. Sometimes 4 ounces, sometimes 2, sometimes 6 but every day it's less.

You think it's going too fast and that is why I felt so terrible yesterday? Or is my body getting the hang of it?

I am keeping hydrated big time, but I am not doing anything special. I am eating like a pig. My breakfast is twice the amount of what I was eating last week (when I was not losing any weight all week long).
Even my evening meal is quite large (lots of salad).
Should I eat more?

I'm gaining so far. Still trying to figure out what's good for me. I am also curious about other A's because Dr. D'Adamo says A's diet is a natural weight loss diet. I'm wondering, still, if grains aren't for me. I hope that's not the case because part of the appeal besides major health benefits is getting to eat grains.

fish, chicken, turkey........how do you feel with those?
also tofu, tempeh, miso.......

Kristy it's a matter of finding what works for you. I have obviously found what works for me, because at this moment I am losing weight like crazy.

Maybe you should try more smaller meals in the beginning. It's what I did in the beginning. Always had a snack in between meals and the meals were not as big as they are now. Now my meals are quite large and I don't snack in between anymore.

Lost another 2 ounces this morning. That is 6 pounds this week (starting sunday).

Kristy - As Sandra stated, it is a matter of finding out what works for you. One idea is to replace grains at a meal with your favorite type of acceptable beans (black beans, pinto beans, etc.). This has done wonders for me.

Sandra - I love checking in and reading that you keep losing weight - such an inspiration!

I have kept my recent 1-2 pounds off, but again, it seems to be s l o w, as it has been three weeks at the new weight. My question to all you long timers is... does it keep coming off if you stick to the diet or do you have to do more? I have started to reach the minimum exercise requirements - walking 2x a week and tai chi 2x a week - but I'm going to try to amp the tai chi up more as sometimes I only do 20 minutes. I don't know what else I can do to speed this up. At one pound a month I would reach my goal weight in 2007.

Also, thanks to whomever questioned me in the past about whether my naturopath supported the BTD. The one I saw supported, but didn't necessarily follow or promote. I have since switched to a naturopath who actually puts her patients on the BTD! And, lo and behold, she seems to be an incredible doctor! Good litmus test, I'd say.

Well now, it seems that eating avoids is really bad for the weight loss. Thursday morning I was in a rush to leave the house so I made the instant oatmeal from Quaker. I figured that since I had been eating it for over two years and never had problems I would not hurt me. However the instant oatmeal has a few avoids (guar gum being one of them). When I have the time I just take natural oatmeal (no additives) add my raisins, nuts, some dark brown sugar and my soy milk and make that. But it takes a little longer then the instant.

Well Friday I had diarrhea and no weight loss. Bummer. And today I actually gained a little weight. Bigger bummer.

So I am back to being compliant and hope next week the weight loss will continue where it left off thursday.

Thankfully I'm back on track again. All last week my weight was jumping up and down like a jojo. I have no idea why. All in all I only lost 2 ounces in one week.

But since Tuesday things have been going down again and I've lost another 2 pounds as of this morning.

My body is just weird!

I've been finding there are little sneaky avoids in foods that I hadn't noticed before. I bought organic turkey slices (no nitrites) yesterday, only to discover there was that carrageenan stuff in them! Carrageenan and guar gum are listed in the BTD diabetes (pre-diabetes, hypoglycemia) book as being bad for blood sugar regulation. I'm finding I wasn't as compliant with the avoids as I thought I was!

But this web site has really helped me in this area!!! Thanks to all.

I've been stuck at 178 for about a month now. This morning I got on the scale and it briefly registered at 176, and my eyes almost popped out of my head!   I ate way too much dairy last night (albeit compliant dairy), so I was really surprised. Then I remembered that I had actually sprung for an organic pineapple (very expensive) and ate a bunch of it and had gotten rid of lots of "water" throughout the night - much more than usual. I know pineapple is supposed to help with water regulation, so I'm thinking that's where the extra pounds disappeared to! We'll see if it stays, though. Oh, and the scale did sort of creep up to 177 after, but still, any movement downwards makes me happy!

Started June 1, probably 70-80% compliant in June and July, then gradually more compliant until my mid-September I was 99% complaint and still am.  66 pounds lost as of today.  34 more to get where I want to be.  All health problems but my ever-present skin issues and an occasional "thick" (mucousy) throat gone (acid reflux, gas, irritable bowel syndrome, lower back pain, sinus).  I'm sold - this is the way I will eat for life.

What are you doing? Are you compliant? With ingredients? With portions? With frequencies? With AB excercise?

On Sundays I generally have lunch at the same restaurant.

One of the waitres has had a weight problem since I starget going 5 years ago.

We have some times talked about diets and she always mentioned how it was imposible to loose weight bla bla bla... the usual. I mentioned BTD over a year ago but she did nothing about it.

Yesterday, She was serving the table beside mine. She was looking sensational

We were sitting in a terrace with with a beautifu sunny day so nothing could be hidden

She seemed so much smaller and tighter. She was walking straight, energetically... Wao! what is she on? i wondered. She even saluted with the most charismatic, happy smiles and tone of voice.

At the end of the meal she questined me very politely why i did not have cauliflower

"Because it does not suit my body" I answered.

She said, " I thought it was something like that. I am on a diet based on the blood type..........."

So this was the reason. I understood inmediately

She has been on BTD for 2 months with the help of a natural Dr. Has not lost too much weight in pounds (I can not remember what she said). She says she is taking it slowly, but the difference is hudge. believe me, I do notice those things. Even my husband observed how good she looked. "Even her mood has improved" he said. She was generaly grumpy when she had to do a little extra work.

She is not doing exercise (other than her job) as it is high season here and work is very demanding with crazy schedules.

I was once again sold on to the BTD

PS. She is O+
