The more I work with people,the more I am amazed by how many adults are already intuitively on the BTD diet, more or less.
I'm currently working with a couple, both O's, who eat a lot of red meat: Beef, Buffalo, and who are big GREENS eaters: Chard, Spinach, etc.
Their only cheese is fresh mozzarella, which is also fine. They just intuitively arrived at this diet for themselves. Favorite fruits: Cherries and plums.
The wife is the daughter of an A mother who was a vegetarian and who raised her O daughter vegetarian, until the daughter went off on her own and became a meat eater.
Another interesting twist, this time on the anthropological level: The O husband is fascinated with certain Native American tribes and their hunter-gatherer indigenous culture. (Native American indigenously being almost exclusively O). (This reminds me of my -B- lifelong resonance to things Indian/SilkRoutian).
They'd never heard of the BTD, and I've been turning them on to it; they find it fascinating.

in our office of 7 women, we have 4 O's (me included) two A's and a B.
All of the O's are avid meat eaters, and 2 of the 4are not so keen on dairy, all O's love the foods on their beneficial list. The A is a vegetarian by choice The B eats everything, but has big preferences for beneficiall foods.

Interesting My mum never understood the craving both my sister and I had about dairy and cheese- she is a O and sister and I am B . When my daughter was a small child 2-3 years old she by choise ate a perfect O diet wouldn´t touch her glass of milk or the bread! But I do think that we sometimes are messed up and stop listeing to our natural liking- espeacially sugar and white flour seems to be so addictive that we forget to listen.!
PS When I was a young- girl I was facinated by Monguls, normads etc and never understood why!

I wish I could have been one of those intuitive people in tune with my body, but eating healthy has been a long learning experience for me. I did learn from trial and error and listening to my body, I had already figured out that beef did my body good before I read ER4YT and that I did not do well as a vegitarian. When I read ER4YT, it made so much sense, it seemed to confirm my experiences. But other than that I was eating all wrong, lots of wheat, wheat, wheat!
As a kid I always was an intuitive BTD follower. For example, I never liked bread (which is traditionally mostly made of rye in Austria). I always made a riot when my mother wanted me to eat bread, I just couldn't stand it. After eating chicken I always got extremely tired, and I never ate the breast intuitively, which contains most of the harmful lectins.
I always loved orange juice, which is an avoid for all blood types except B! Also I drank gallons of milk and I loved oatmeal. My favorite dishes were meat dishes with rice. What I especially liked was meat in creamy sauces, very good for B's!!
This is what I enjoy about the blood type diet so much: Most of the beneficial and neutral foods are foods I like to eat anyway! Most other diets force you to eat things, which so called nutritional experts proclaim as healthy, but which you don't like to eat at all!
and then you have the one which doesn't feel anything...just nothing and even no-no's won't bother...because they just don't care.... and then the very best- even they knew no-no's are real no-no's.... they just gat on eating such things ...like A nonies and pork..... or beef because they have it bought and in their frazer.... = a very bääää they like to get the flashbacks right into their..... trallalaaa
One of the reasons I like BTD is that it reinforced some changes I was trying to make in my diet (no beef, more tofu, nothing processed, . .) and I had recently taken a Tai Chi class. After reading the book, and I eliminated all corn products all of my stomach problems were also eliminated.
I guess you could say it "resonated" with me.
Now if I could only find out my husband's blood type, maybe his heart burn would go away, too.
Tjwisc - Your husband could find out his blood type by donating blood (free) or by getting a blood typing kit at the health food store. They sell them here for 12.95. And there is always the BTD store on-line. The more I know the more fascinated I am. So much makes sense for me now that I know my type: A nonsecretor, Rh negative. I highly suggest getting the secretor status test done!
It is so pleasant to explore nature & oneself at the same time, doing violence neither to her nor to one's own spirit, but bringing both into balance in gentle, mutual interaction.
At what healthfood store are you finding home bloodtype testing kits? Many ask me where they can get one, and I do refer them to NAPharmacal, but, in all honesty, I find they are then quite likely to forget about the whole thing, whereas the immediacy of a local store would, I believe, get them interested in BTD and Dr. D, etc., and, like you, feeling better.

I was always drawn to my Beneficials for as long as I can remember. I especially liked cheese and creamy sauces w/meat, sweet potatos, and lamb chops. When I ate Avoids I always felt like something was not quite right, but I just ate them anyway--especially wheat bread. Though I did actively avoid chicken. The smell and texture always just struck me as foul (pardon the pun).
Interestingly, I was wrongly told I was an O prior to going on the BTD, and I started the Diet as such. I did show some improvement, but when I finally read the B profiles, they were just too spot-on, and I knew I must be a B. A quick test confirmed it and my health soon improved even more.
PS: I always liked Mongols and such too. Scythians....
I was talking to another soccer referee on the fields last weekend and somehow we got on the topic of health issues and that led me into talking about the BTD. The gentleman found what I was telling him was extremely interesting because it seemed to match well with what he, type O, and his wife, type A, had already discovered. Because of this he was very interested in reading the books and learning more!
I do occasionally meet people that have already discovered some of the basic principles of their blood type diet, like a B knowing that chicken did not make her feel good and liked to hike, an A eating as a vegetarian and did not do well with vigorous exercise, or an O knowing that they did better with a higher protein diet and tended to be more interested in exercise.
I knew before starting the BTD that I did better with more vs less protein and that intense exercise made me feel better. That was one of the things that convinced me from the very start that the BTD made sense.

I too have always been fascinated with the Native Americans and going to Native American Museums and reservations! Pocahontas was my fave and I must be in touch with nature. They nicknamed me Road Runner when I was a kid bc I used to run everywhere instead of walking. I loved to just jump until I felt out of breath and euphoric. When I think back to when I was a kid, before being influenced by diets and such I loved lamb chops and broccoli with lemon juice and hamburgers, spinach with garlic, stew and beef on a stick and anything sour like pickles, saurkraut and lemon juice and sour green apple. I gave away my cookies at snacktime and ate the meat out of my sandwiches and hot dogs out of the bun! The only sweet I liked was ice cream, but I refused to eat it if it had a bit of strawberry on it! I'd always opt for the Grapefruit juice over the Orange juice. When at the candy store, my first choice was salted and roasted Pumpkin seeds!! and cherry shoestrings. Oddly the only fruits I liked were plums and cherries! Such is the profile for an O Rh-!! Less grain, more meat and fish. I never had problems with dairy, tough so I think this is where the secretor part comes in. I cannot tolerate Any grains and do better with little to no fruit. Like a hunter I like to eat once per day. Never ate breakfast as a kid and gave away half my lunch but ate a big dinner.
For a long time I was vegan (for ethical reasons) and felt tired all the time like I was walking around in a fog (it was probably all that wheat and pasta!) I did always have to have my pasta drown in tomato sauce and my fries swimming in ketchup in order to eat them! When I started the BTD it was like getting my youth back and when I started eating BTD O way it was like all these memories started coming back about when I used to eat meat and felt good and energetic (and I am only 23)! I'm so glad I discovered BTD and Warrior Diet when I did! I used to hate yogurt, even the smell of it made me sick. I forced myself to eat it for years bc I was told it was good for my digestive problems and constipation. Strangely, the thing that has cured my constipation is Red Meat !
I talk with a lot of people about the BTD. When reviewing the foods, beneficial through avoids, most people already favor the beneficial foods and don't like the avoids. I would agree that intuitively, most people lean towards those foods which are good for their blood type! Fascinating.
The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself. Good health to you & yours.
