So I got to sleep better last night. I'm still exhausted but I had some coffee fro breakfast and some eggs and I hope that it gives me enough energy to resume my exercise. I am going to do my work out and then have some lunch and a fruit/tofu smoothie. For lunch i think I'm going to make a big salad with spinach, lettuce, cucumbers and carrots and probably almonds. A blog wouldn't be one without posting the negatives also. Yesterday I screwed up BIG time. I was tired and felt like c**p My scoliosis, which was caused by my breast size and weight, was acting up and it pinched a nerve that caused a horrible shooting pain down my arm, back and neck (only on one side of the body). I was in tears I ate everything in sight after that, and I truly believe it was emotional eating I ate chips and salsa, potato chips and coke! COKE! I have not had that in ages!!!! truly unhealthy The coffee is making me energetic right now so I'm going to exercise! I'll be back! Aless

Alessvitale my name is Marcia and about 4 weeks ago while running with a friend I had a sharp pain shoot through my left arm shoulder and snake around my breast. What is this scoliosis you have and you say it's because of your breast size i am a 38DDD and overweight 224 lbs. I'm concerned.
Okay looked up scoliosis online, Whew i do not have that however i'm concerned being an A i too want to lose this weight. emotionally having trouble sleeping at night my boyfriend broke up with me back in March but he lied and said he wanted to still be friends. I was deperate (my first love at 33 years of age) He hurt me a lot. then i found out that he is now see someone else and i had to ask him he would have kept me with this false hope of getting back together again. He was the first man i had ever trusted and so now i can't sleep and i eat WRONG for an A and i'm stressed out.

Aless, If your scoliosis has been examined and you don't have to get surgery, it can be supported and you can strengthen your back with professional pilates & physical therapy. I have it too, I slump over all the time if I don't strech and be mindful of my body.Aless, you and I have a lot in common! Bethy Sue

I'm here! I'm so sorry that I haven't been around I was diagnosed with CFS and i found an amazing treatment for it through a book written by Dr. Deepak Chopra and I've been following that for now, instead of BTD, although they are very similar which only shows to me that BTD is right on. the treatment I'm following is ayurvedic and although today in particular is not a good "healthy" day, this treatment has helped me a lot. If you allow me to be around, even if at the moment I'm not following BTD to a T, I would love to be here again let me know Love, Aless

it's based on ayurvedic medicine and the doshas. My dosha is Vata dosha, which is the air element. Each dosha has a specific way of eating. Tha main aspect of eating is taste. It is very important to taste all 6 tastes everyday, preferably at every meal. It is important to learn to eat the ayurvedic way, in silence, without doing something else while eating, focusing on taste and on being aware of what we do while we are doing it, being in the present. It is important to eat slow and to NEVER eat if you are not hungry and to ONLY eat when you are hungry, and, of course, to only eat until you feel satisfied but not so full that you are about ready to pop...it focuses on self-referral (your body's cues) as oppossed to object-referral (external cues), listen to your body and all will be well...I love it! it looks like my breast reduction surgery is going to be in January and it is going to happen for sure 6 months have passed and emotionally, I am doing better than ever...there will be no reason for the doctor to say no and we don't believe she will. it's good to be back here

Alessandra, Are you able to find out your secretor status? That might help you refine your diet. I also have pre-diabetes/hypoglycemia and find that I sleep horribly if I don't eat enough. I actually have to have a small snack before bed. Cortiguard - one of the BTD products - might help you sleep, too.
Oh, one more thing, you might want to check out the BTD book on diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypoglycemia. It tells you specifically what types of foods to eat to help with insulin levels (i.e. blueberries, pineapple, plums, and blackberries are "super beneficial" for this). And, Trader Joe's just came out with really awesome organic unsweetened and unsulfured pineapple rings - great for weight loss!
thank you Laurjen I am not particularly struggling with hypoglycemia anymore (at least I don't htink so) and diabetes is not a concern to me, since I don't eat many sugary things, except for natural sugars and honey. I do love pineapple rings! thanks for letting me know, I'll make sure to pick up some at TJ's
