I applied to be a blogger and start my health and fitness journal but no one has replied to me yet.  I was wondering how long it takes to be approved?
I applied around Wednesday of last week...I think...
I can't wait to start my journal
Thank you
Alessandra

So I am starting my  journal here until I'm approved for blogging.
My name is Alessandra, I am on the blood type diet.  I'm type A.
I have been on BTD for about a month now.
So basically,I am desperate to lose the Paxil weight.
I have surgery coming up, I have to get new headshots, start auditioning again, and of course fit into my clothes so I can go out and do all this (I can't afford new clothes, especially when I know this weight is abnormal, and WILL come off eventually).
For my career, it is very important to look your best, so even if I sound a bit obsessed with all this (the weight issue), I have to. (don't worry, I'll never go overboard and become anorexic or anything)
I don't want to starve, and I won't, but these pounds have got to go QUICKLY.
I'll eat A LOT less if I have to.
I think that if I eat lots of fruits, vegetables and water, I lose weight very quickly.  I can do that but Paxil slowed down my metabolism quite a bit, and it's taking forever for this weight to come off.
I exercise everyday.  I NEVER used to while on the Paxil, as I was chronically exhausted, but now I feel great, so I alternate between a brisk hour walk, a 45 min.  high impact dance workout or Ashtanga yoga.  In spite of this, the weight is not really coming off as I would like.  I think I eat too much and eat Oatmeal, cereal, pasta...things that A's are "supposed" to have.
Also, I'm hypoglycemic, and have noticed that I rather eat really tiny meals all day lo you know, every 2 or 3 hours and about 6 times a day.
Also, I tend to eat my small meals very slowly, I have always been that way.
For example this morning I ate my grapefruit and then 15 min. later my egg and so on.  Basically i eat almost all day long but like a bird each time.
I have been doing the 6 meals a day, and I think I'm starting to feel the difference.  Even though according to my doctor's scale, I've lost nothing, I feel slimmer and I'm starting to realize that the jeans I just bought, to wear in the interim, until I can wear my own clothes again, are starting to feel looser.
Honestly, I decided 2 days ago to just have fun in my life, and focus on that instead of weight.  I am eating like a bird, every six hours, and I am starting to feel less and less hungry by the day
I am focusing on Highly Beneficila foods and neutrals but I'm really just focusing on being active and drinking the water that I need.
For example, Friday night I went Salsa dancing, Saturday night I went Samba dancing, today I'm just going to dance my butt off at home and do some yoga, and I'll be taking my puppy to the park this afternoon.  I'm focusing on having fun and I think it's already starting to work for me.
I don't want to count calories or anything like that  and I'm focusing on HB foods, focusing more on the veggies, legumes, beans and protein, and of course some fruit.
Right now, I'm happy about it, even though I would still like to lose the weight a bit quicker, so I can start auditioning and also to make sure that I will be in tip top shape when I finally have my BR.
I'll be back with more

So, I am eating everything in a 12oz. bowl to make sure that I am portioning my meals and I don't eat too much.  I think it might be working
Ohhh....the posting before this one might sound really familiar to you. That's because I didn't feel like writing everything all over again, so I copied and pasted from other postings of mine
So far today, I had cereal and fat free soy milk, in the 12oz. bowl that I'm gonna call the portion bowl from now on
For lunch, I plan on having Pinto bean soup with a bit of cheese on top, also in the portion bowl, and then a couple of hours after that I'll have a bowl of veggies, and so on.
This whole eating every 3 hours deal is really helping me!
I'm not as constantly hungry as I used to be
I'll be back

allessandra,
I d focus more on protein and veggies at every mini meal, every 2 or 3 hours.

leave grains and legumes and all carbs for later, when the scale begins to move considerably.

veggies and fruit ( the given amounts per day) instead of the carbs from grains, etc.

Today I had a 2 egg omelet for breakfast, with a little mozzarella cheese in it.
I woke up real late today so, I am tired and sluggish and had my breakfast at noon instead of 8 or 9.  I'm doing my water drinking and I'm off to Trader Joe's to get tofu and other things for the rest of my meals.  I'm not stuffed with my breakfast but satisfied.

Good job, Aless...

Dr. D. stated last week, that he had all the application he needed and would be making the decision. since he has to go through them all, it might take a while, not to mention he is getting the new clinic up and running.

What a nice breakfast, full of protein! Eggs are good but personally I'm afraid of cholesterol and I don't eat yolks. But if you eat such a hearty breakfest you feel okay with tiny afternoon meals.

Aless, I'm sure that even if you keep eating as much as you do, you'll lose weight on the BTD. I think the best portion is the one after which you don't feel hungry.

Just keep on dancing

So today was not a good day
I have been nauseated and have barely eaten anything.  I feel dizzy and all around yucky
I am doing better in spirits now but have a very sensitive stomach.
I am starting to realize more and more that I feel this way if I get stressed and if I don't drink enough water
I am just going to try to get some rest and see how it goes tomorrow

Sonia- I eat 2 eggs every day (I have my own hens), along with lots of red meat and got my cholestrol tested last week.

Total: 169
Triglycerides: 31

Does your blood type make you more likely to react negatively to eggs?

Yes, if I was 0 or B I wouldn't mind 2 eggs a day, but my A organism is more likely to collect than reduce cholesterol when I consume it.

So I didn't get any rest last night
I am absolutely exhausted as i haven't slept in 2 days.  See the thing is that my doc had also put me on a sleeping medication to help me with nighmares and nigh terrors but my body has been detoxing so well that even the lowest dose, split in half is too much for me.  So I'm now 100% off of all meds but I can't sleep without this med yet
I haven't eaten anything today, as I just woke up, and honestly, my stomach feels so crappy, I'm afraid to eat.  I feel like fasting on fuits and water.  Can a hyplglycemic do that?
Today I intend on exercising, in spite of my terrible fatigue, and I'll drink lots of Chamomile as well as take a nice Lavender bath, right before bed.  I have Valerian root pills but the taste so nasty I ussually belch the taste all night long
It's horrible.
I'll be back in a little while

I just had 2 rice cakes with peanut butter and cherry fruit spread.  I feel like c**p though and even water drinking is making me queasy
I am so tired from not sleeping that i actually feel really sensitive and vulnerable
I don't know how much longer I will go without sleeping but I do not look forward to it.
I guess I'll just have to take it easy.  The thing is that when I don't sleep, I get really stressed out and then I really CAN"T sleep.
Stress is no good for type A's and I have to say that I really believe it.  My whole being feels out of control if i'm stressed. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

Melatonin at night for an A's sleep and Methylcobalamin (form of B12) in the morning for re-setting an A's body clock.  Try to get up for some daylight between 6-8am as this also helps reset your inner clock.

Aloe Vera will soothe your stomach and help rebuild any damaged villi in your intestinal tract.

Alternate nostril breathing will help balance your energy flows.

Those and the valerian (if you can handle it) should reduce some of the stress on your system and in turn lower your cortisol levels.

The first preference in the anti-stress protocol for A's is KavaKava and may be worth considering.

Emphasise the B vitamins in your choice of foods as B5 in particular supports your adrenal glands which helps with your cortisol levels.

And if you think hormonal changes are behind the   then Black Cohosh may be the A answer.

I did a deep sleep meditation last night at 4AM when I just couldn't taker it anymore and it helped me fall asleep but I had to repeat the audiobook twice before i was able to calm down from how stressed I felt that I couldn't sleep
The thing is that I don't stay asleep or a I have very active dreams that don't let me rest.
Thanks Mokawa.  I'll try meditating throughout the day to see if I can keep myself from getting stressed out at all.

A while back I bought some CD sets from the Relaxation Company. One set had four CDs that help sync your brainwaves for certain activies (sleep, concentration, relaxation, etc). The other CD set has an almost inaudible beat in the background that is supposed to help you stay asleep. Check out their website, or go to a local bookstore and see if they have these available.

I used to have a terrible time sleeping. Stretching seemed to help, but I had to completely concentrate and really make a big thing out of it to acheive the full benefit.

The less calories you eat the slower your thyroid functions and paradoxically leads to weight gain, your thyroid actually needs calories to fire itself up and metabolise the food you do eat.  Protein is beneficial for weight loss as it builds muscle and is best  focused in the first half of the day, leaving carbs - fruit and veg to be more improtant in the latter half.  A good feed of vegetables for your evening meal will be light on your stomach and set you up for a good nights sleep.

It may well be the lack of carbs at the end of the day that is keeping you awake.

Alessandra,

I felt the same way too today. Tummy sick and run down. I am sorry to hear you are feelin bad. The world is turned upside down right now, lots of craziness and it is a full moon. I am very in touch with my environment and it sounds like you are as well. I hope you get to feeling better. I ate only Miso soup, toast and fruit. That might be a good idea for you too when you feel a little run down. Take care my fellow A!

Alessandra, maybe it's just that you don't excercise enough in the afternoon? According to
what I know about natural biorythms, full moon is the best time for being physically active. It's possible that it's the energy that accumulates in your organism, and needs to be set free.
Don't worry.

Hi guys-

I'm completely new at this, but I too am an A.  This week was the NEW moon, not the full moon.

Despite the fact that I'm eatting mostly fruits and whole grains, I think I'm getting more protein than ever!  !  My only real question is about cereal.  I LOVE cereal and don't really have time to cook an egg every morning, is there a cereal that's ok to eat??

Hi Starrlyte! Neither grains in the morning nor eggs every day are best for As, but you can try to introduce more protein for breakfast by adding peanuts to your cereal or prepare a proteinous meal(for example fish salad) the day before.

I don' know which phase it is now, but it goes like this:
new moon-move a lot
2nd quarter
full moon-move a lot
4th quarter-don't move too much
