I was researching the old archives and came across this post. I have been on the diet since 2000 and have not heard her story, so i thought others might be interested.

Man alive! That was very interesting, thanks, Mickey! I can't believe I never read that post before, as I started on the BTD in 9/97 and on the old message board in June or July of 1999. The only thing I can figure is that, that post being in September of 1999, it could surely have been just during the week or so that we were off-line totally at work while our entire organization moved our main office to a new building. I seem to have missed all the seminal posts, which all seem to have been posted JUST during that week and, as is the case with this one, I am still stumbling across them to this day. THANKS for posting that, that was a very fascinating insight into Heidi's story.
I hope she is doing well, wherever she is at this moment.

aaah-HA!
Did I call it or did I call it? (Answer Key: I called it!) That was posted just during my little off-line moment when, for some reason, all THE greatest posts in history were posted and I missed 'em, such as this one by Dr. D., which was actually a response to me that I never saw due to being off line, and I just by CHANCE came across it quite a bit later, "a day late and a dollar short" as they say! I'm SO glad I did, as it is IMPORTANT and I still hark back to what it taught me (which seems so OBVIOUS now *lol*, but hey, to quote the Jefferson's theme (lol), "it took a whole lotta trrryyyyying, just to get (Edna) up that hill!":
I was on line on 9/23 at 2:27 p.m., apparently *lol*, but after that, it all went dark for a few days and I missed not only Heidi's detailed, personal and interesting story, but also Dr. D.'s great post and lots of other CLASSIC stuff. I'm telling you, one cannot turn one's gaze from this BTD e-community for a SECOND without missing something of crucial importance, just like I was saying about the show "Lost" in that other thread a few days or whenever ago *lol*!

added a paragraph at end with first edit; this time, just tinkered a hair with a few things...
How interesting to read Heidi's story! Makes me wish she would come back to the list soon so we can talk with her in-depth about her early experiences with the BTD. Thanks Mickey!

What a great post - inspiring, entertaining and well-written. Thanks for digging it out and sharing. I just wonder whatever happened to her... I want to know 'the rest of the story' as Paul Harvey would say.
Gosh. That brought tears to my eyes. Partly because I, too, eschewed meat as practically evil, but not quite to Heidi's extreme. And I, too, would like to know what's become of our dear friend.
I like the idea of bringing up old interesting posts from the archives. Those two were VERY interesting! It certainly gives you a feel of where Heidi came from and what she was like. Interesting.

ITA! And if you're a "newbie" like me and don't have time to trawl through the archives (and you don't really know where to start and/or what you're looking for) it's nice to have some of the "oldies" to point out and bring up some of the old pearls!
