DOS, I'm very happy that you are finding that combining foods is helping you. Hope this continues to be a rewarding path for you.

I could easily order the test and when I go see Dr. D ar the clinic in August, bring it with me and have it sent   from Bridgeport, CT...with results going back there....and then I'll have what I need to know.   Need to remind myself to order test closer to August so I'll know my results will be up to the moment.  Thanks for mentioning this...I think just about anyone could get a doctor to send
out specimen and receive results as long as they aren't obligated to make it appear that they asked for the testing.  Most MDs wouldn't want to be involved gathering nutritional information anyway.

Good solution Chloe.  Certainly where there's a will, there's a way.

Just curious how fermented soy works for you type A ladies?  (such as miso or tempeh)

They're the only types that work for me, an Explorer, since they add direct beneficials to my gut biome. Regular edamame, steamed, non-GMO, causes a histamine reaction, and tofu's calcium nigari solution works against my absorption process and causes eventual indigestion and food backing up from the duodenum into the stomach..... so as soft as tofu is, it actually takes me 36 hours to "make it go down" - an incredible amount of work that is not worth it.

My sister has that "backup" problem - gastritis?, and when food brings that horrific acid from the small intestine into her stomach you can imagine the damage it does. She is under treatment for it, but I don't know all the details. She was just the opposite from me about food when we were growing up and on into adulthood. She thought nothing of eating a big slice of chocolate pie for breakfast, an ice cream bar and/or a  candy bar with a coke for lunch!   As long as she stayed thin as a rail, she was happy. I let her know how horrifying that was to me the way she ate when we were young, but she thought I was 'way too young to know anything about that. She was older than me. After several years I finally talked her into eating better. It was not easy, but a lot of damage had already been done.

Thanks - I've known many type A's who were unable to eat/digest any soy until they discovered that miso did wonderful things for their inside.  And some people also thrive on tempeh, even if they can't eat tofu and edamame.
