Unhappy.....found out if I take it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning with my lime/water juice, it acts like a fruit, sending my blood sugar up and down and messing with my adrenals. In other words.....triggering bulimia later, though no avoids were eaten to cause bulimia. Bulimia is a common occurrance with adrenal gland imbalances.

Either that or its helping me cleanse too fast, when I thought taking it every day on an empty stomach would help "strip" the intestines of baddies in a more effective way.

Seriously bummed, here, after a few days of bulimia this week, and just having now recognised what it was.

I take a very few things on an empty stomach, and one of them certainly isn't Deflect!

Well the interesting thing I read about it Spring, was, if taken without food strips intestines of old lectins, and if taken with food prevents lectins from attaching to intestinal wall.

I suppose people without blood sugar issues could take 1 capsule between meals but not at breakfast??

I take Deflect (A) right before bed along with Polyflora (A). I've not had a problem. I do, however, get nauseous (last time I actually vomited, which I am loath to do) when taking Bromelain on an empty stomach, so go figure...

Me too....Deflect and Polyflora before bed...I take it when I wake up too but breakfast is probably
20 minutes later....and I've already had my membrosia combo.

I thought taking Deflect after food works on the food you just consumed, not on old lectin damage.

I just received my first shipment of goodies from Dr. D. My husband and I are both starting tomorrow with fresh juices, raw fruits and veggies. We are going to do this for 7-10 days to try to get rid of some of the built up lectins. We had planned on taking 2 deflect A's 3X's daily with our juices and veggies. Is this ok? I really want to do this properly. We also are going to take Polyflora and the B-12. Any help by you veterans would be greatly appreciated. I'm really looking forward to beginning my new journey. I cleaned out my pantry and fridge so we wouldn't have any temptations. The only thing I didn't part with was one jar of salsa.

Hi Julie and welcome!! Not being an A myself, I can't offer much help, but you may get more if you make a new post - otherwise (in my experience) posts can get swallowed up by being added to an existing one, if it is not exactly in line with the title.. People are busy and choose to read by the titles that grab their attention

There are many ways to "do this", so not necessarily one way to do it properly...  More important is to do what is sustainable.  So much of this lifestyle depends on your individual reaction to the changes.  If you are pretty healthy, then you may be able to go cold turkey and add a load of supplements without "overload"...

Be mindful though, that some people have adverse effects from doing too much too quickly.  If this is the case, you may have to introduce changes more slowly and allow the body some time to adjust so the "healing symptoms are tolerable.

I'm wishing you the very best with your healing process!  Nothing above should "scare" you, just allow you to be mindful that sometimes slower is better...

AbJoe, I certainly agree with your assessment, but, then, I am quite a bit older than Juliebug!

Thank you ABJoe- We have been getting rid of many of our avoids over the past few weeks. Hopefully the transition won't be too difficult on us. I am ready for the change and luckily have much support from my husband. We are both A+ secretor Warriors so at least it will make it easier for us to do together. I am guilty of having avoids tonight (the last supper) but tomorrow will be a whole new beginning. We will just have to listen to our bodies and take it one day at a time! Thank you again!

Juliebug,
Welcome! You are fortunate to have your husband share your blood/geno/type/diet.
It will simplify time in the kitchen, for sure! My DH is an O but our meals aren't too difficult. Many times I just add meat for him as we eat many of the same veggies.
I agree with the other posts; to take it slowly and make note of changes/listen to your body.
I don't take Deflect daily but whenever I think I need it, and always with food.
Have fun on this new healthy adventure!

Thank you Cajun! So far so good today. About to have a Kefir and fruit smoothie with flax oil. It will be interesting to see how I feel in another week. I would like for us to do SWAMIs but will have to wait a bit- I splurged on supplements that we needed to get started. It was something I definately needed to do in order to try to do things properly.

I hear you! I began with supps, also.
I read ER4YT then the Geno type book and followed each of those, first. It made adjusting to swami very easy as my swami is a blend, as I suspect most are, of the 2.
I suggest reading all of Dr. D's books; they are enlightening. I especially like to reference his encyclopedia.

Thank you Cajun! I went to our small library and all they had was the Genotype book so I read it first. After that I bought the ER4YT book. I will definitely check out the encyclopedia. Yesterday went great-no problems with supplements. Last night I felt amazing after I had dinner...it was like my cells were connecting and I had all this energy. I went to bed and had some sweats and chills...I know this part of detoxing too well! I wasn't going to weigh today, but made the mistake of doing so...scales showed I gained 2 lbs. I also know it takes time for your body to adapt to changes, so I won't worry too much.

No worries! My weight did the same and then when I really stuck to the diet my weight did not move! It took about 8 weeks and all of a sudden the weight fell off quickly and consistently without me changing a thing! I knew that just being patient and staying with the diet was the answer; and it was!
