My husband is ranting and raving about this E3Live that he tried at Whole Foods.

He has somehow convinced himself that this product is the one thing that's really going to improve his health. (I think he's and his health would get better if he stopped eating Popeye's wheat fried chicken but he won't listen to that; and besides he says he doesn't eat the fried chicken that often.)

My guess is, there's probably a large amount of B vitamins in the product that are giving his system a jolt. Not a day goes by that he tells me that I "have to" try it but I'm not sold on it and I'm not sure of it's rating.

Right now he's taking an ounce dose a day, meaning one bottle ($45.00) would last him a month (32 doses). He's now trying to convince me that he really needs to take a FULL BOTTLE A WEEK of this product because that's what the salesman recommended.  We can't afford to spend $180.00 a month on this product on the advice of a salesman.

I am skeptical of anything that isn't Dr. D approved.

The web site states the ingredients are:

Each bottle (16oz/473ml.) contains 100% Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) The web site will not give the nutritional information. You have to call a phone number to get that.

Wikipedia says: "Aphanizomenon flos-aquae is a freshwater species of cyanobacteria."

Wikipedia says spirulina is Arthrospira, and that: "Arthrospira are free-floating filamentous cyanobacteria"

Spirulina is a diamond food on our SWAMI's, but it's under Sea Vegetables.  E3live is a fresh water species.

Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

Both are forms of blue green algae, but as you indicate they are not the same.

E3Live would be an untested product and therefore could be treated as neutral as you test how you react to it.

Thank you Lola and C_Sharp.

If anyone else out there has tried this product, please let me know how much you take and what you feel it does for you.

What I'd do is save the containers and replace the ingredients with  Spirulina when he's not looking!
