Which of Dr D's Supps have the most Magnesium?

Since Dr D doesn't seem to have a "Magnesium Product" I have been using Sol gar, I have been using citrate and chelated in the past but would prefer a product with less other stuff in it.

What do you all use for magnesium.

I do use Epsom salt baths of course.

All of Dr. D. Products that contain significant amounts of Magnesium also contain Calcium.

The level of of calcium is such that you cannot use it as magnesium supplement.

For instance the GenoType multimineral contain 50 mg magnesium per capsule, but also has 150 mg of Calcium.

I know that Sharpy i was thinking about fucus for example what level of magnesium is in it and if any calcium is it it at all.

I take mag citrate orally, sometimes take a product called Natural Calm which is a powder..
I also use topical mag sulfate which is called magnesium oil. 40 sprays, wait 30 minutes, shower
off....sometimes I re-apply.... I sometimes do a foot soak in
epsom salts....  And still I feel deficient.  Most people have a very difficult time absorbing magnesium once deficient.  My problems began with Lymes disease.

Magnesium citrate is used in this product to help with packing.  If enough was used to give a you a significant dose, I presume that would be indicated on the label.  Since it is not you should assume you are getting a dose too small to be considered for dietary purposes.

Fucus itself contains both calcium and magnesium, this is fairly variable. Here is information on concentrations:

On my visit in Ct I had received Vital Trippl Mag 250mg developed by
Vital Nutrients, Middletown, CT 06457  
with 3 types.  
10% mag glycinate,
30% dimag malate
60% mag oxide.....

P/c what are you using it for?    


Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

"We are going stearate-free because in a small number of people stearic acid can interfere with absorption. Beyond that there is not much health consequence. It is abundant in nature and impossible to not get in the diet. It is used to let products flow through the machinery. However if the manufacturing is very top level, you can use other agents (such as amino acids) to do this as well, but not all companies have the quality control sufficient to do this."

As you may know supplemenTS are not regulated in the same way as foods. so for example if a product has gluten in it it dos not have to mnetion it.

Salgar Magnesium Citrate has the following in it and is NOT gluten free as far as i an see.

Ingredients
Vegetable Cellulose, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Titanium Dioxide, Dicalcium Phosphate, Silica, Vegetable Magnesium, Stearate, Vegetable Glycerin. notice that titanium dioxide is not on the list but is on the bottle

anyway it states sugar, salt and starch free some even say wheat free but Not gluten free

whereas Dr D's wonderful supplements ACTUALLY say

"PRODUCT CONTAINS NO SUGAR, SALT, WHEAT, YEAST, CORN, SOY, EGGS, DAIRY, PRESERVATIVES, COLOURS, FLAVOURS OR ARTIFICIAL INGREDIENTS.

PC.. I  answered in the other thread as well..., yet I come back to You to say what I said many time in years long ago.  

IT takes time to heal from the inside out.   IF I had to give her any 'supplental' support, I would suggest strongly Organic vegetables Juiced ...  while eating fruit whole!!!

Meat cooked in water to make broth, with some cellery tomatoes and other soup vegetables cooked for 24 hours in the slow cooker, to get every bit of the minerals leaked out into the liquid.  In that way (throw the veggies out) she would be able to absorb many healthy things effortlessly... All the strength is left in the broth.

Digestion takes strength.  Drinking fluidized foods are easier. Sleep takes strength. and minerals are better balanced when coming from food.

Also making some foods only to eat the slush left over after having it passt through a sifter will make absorbtion easier.  (Oats is one of those) Rice is another.  Coates the intestines/ babies eat it...

Some can eat mushy foods created in a blender, but I personally gag on it.  Yet there is value in (sort of predigested) food.  all to easier absorb NAtural strenght.

I take epsom salt baths 3 days a week, use mag oil (magnesium chloride solution; it feels "oily" but contains no oil) on my whole body 3 days a week (showering it off after about half an hour) and use mag chloride in some of my drinking water. If I ingest too much MgCl too quickly, it leads to gas and loose stools, so I need to spread it out during the day. I  generally ingest anywhere between  1/4 and 3/4 teaspoon of the mag oil per day, using 1/8 to 1/4 cup per large glass of water.

This eliminates the risk of having a bad reaction to an "inert" ingredient in a magnesium pill or flavored liquid. I'm afraid to use mag citrate, because citrate is often corn-based and I react horribly to even trace amounts of corn.

You should be able to get most of your nutrition from food. I recommend you look up which foods have high levels of magnesium and then cross reference that list with the foods that are right for type O. Eating more of these foods should do the trick.

The problem is that most soils are depleted in magnesium, so foods today generally don't contain the level of magnesium they did 100 years ago. Also, many high-magnesium foods are also high calcium foods, so it's nearly impossible to correct a cal/mag balance from foods alone. The ratio of magnesium to calcium is as important as the total amount of magnesium. Many things in today's modern world (stress, chemical exposure, etc) can increase the rate at which people use up magnesium.

Thanks kev  but when you have pcos you are likely to be calcium overloaded, so getting the magnesium from foods that also do not have calcium is not as easy as you think.

but it can take a year to balance, the condition in question needs to be quicker than that as it has already been missed my doctors for maybe as long as 5 years.

PC..I didn't realize that women with PCOS had calcium overload.  How interesting!  My niece who has PCOS is a big cheese eater...No doubt very deficient in magnesium. Her fathers' family has

Plus, many processed foods add calcium without magnesium or other co-factors.  People who have been eating many of these products will need extra magnesium to balance out their prior poor diets. A diet consisting of 100% organic foods, grown in magnesium-rich soils, may be enough to keep minerals in balance, but it's unlikely to be adequate in correcting prior imbalances.

Anyway although i have been unable to find specifics about Dr D's Fucus..


seaweed is a close as i could get- it has more calcium than magnesium. so i will still have to use some other source for additional magnesium.
