On the strength of Brighid45's glowing review in the course of a recent phone call, I decided to order me up some Scienca, since I was ordering Proberry caps anyway.  I'm curious to hear from others who have tried Scienca.  Brig says it is a great anti-inflammatory.  If you take it, do you take it daily or just occasionally?  In short, what's the skinny on Scienca?

Exactly, the "ca" ending gives the special twist, Scienca -> Seneca [Latin pronunc. = senəkə]

Ooookay, now that I've seen a page of search results on the word "Scienca", and a discussion on the pronunciation of "Scienca" and the meaning behind the name, I ask again:  what are BTD community folks' experiences with taking this supplement?  Thanks in advance...

PT, it's difficult for me to quantify the effects of this one supplement.  I was given Scienca by Dr. D and the shift and take 2 pills 2x per day.  But, I take other supplements as well, along with protocols like membrane fluidizer and now I've added a little TC/ARA with grapefruit juice.  So my supplements are ever changing.

I think if you could pinpoint one issue for yourself that is troublesome, not change anything else
about your diet or add any new supplements  but just add Scienca and monitor yourself, you
might be able to notice something.  Not really knowing what to look for, I have to be honest in responding.....I don't see anything in the way of something specific changing....It's likely this is internal improvement that is invisible....maybe some beneficial epigenetic response/good cell turnover/removal of toxins/protection as in antioxidant benefits.

Collectively, many supplements were prescribed for me based on issues I presented to the shift/Dr. D at the clinic.  My protocol keeps changing but Scienca has been constant for over 18 months..

Would love to give you some feedback.  I know this is an awesome supplement or else I would not
be given 4 pills per day....but exactly what benefits I'm personally receiving....I dunno...still have achy knees...
and still need to take extra boswellia on my own.

Thanks, Chloe.  You are right, when we are doing lots of things simultaneously to improve our health, it is sometimes hard to single out the effect(s), if any, of one of those things.  Brighid told me on the phone that it is very powerful and particularly as an anti-inflamatory.  I am just curious to hear from others who have used it as to what their experiences are/what effects they have noticed.  Like you said, sometimes it is hard to pinpoint, but sometimes the effect(s)/impact(s) of one supplement do stand out.

I ordered Scienca for my DH many months ago. he has nerve, leg pain issues along with arthritis. he never took it! Currently he is eating cherries daily but also taking one Phloxicin a day. He has seen an improvement and I noticed he walks/stands straighter. I have thought about taking Scienca or Phloxicin myself just to see if I notice any difference in my well being.
I may do that and report back....

thanks cajun....now maybe I'll add phyloxicin because I was happy to read that your DH got good results for issues that sound similar to mine....leg pain/nerve pain PLUS I also have achy knees.  Will report back.

Edited to add... I had forgotten why I don't tolerate Phloxixin....the ginger oil gave me gastric reflux. I have
major issues with strong forms of ginger....which is probably why I bought boswellia to use with Scienca instead. I find that gives me pretty good results.

Phloxicin is amazing! It contains Boswellia, along with other stuff, and Boswellia is better than ibuprofen (imo).

I decided it would not be worthwhile for me.

I use turmeric regularly as a cooking spice and that is the main ingredient. Quercitin, a secondary ingredient, is in the onion normally present when I use turmeric. The bromelain (also secondary) may help absorption but I'm not concerned, as I get more than enough of the other things.

Okay--I know you already asked me about this, but I'll post my experience here anyway. I take Scienca as directed on the bottle (2 caps 2x daily). I have noticed a subtle but significant reduction in what joint pain I still have, especially my knees, since starting this regimen. I've also noticed that my histamine reactions are way down (makes sense, given the ingredients of the supplement). If I stop taking it, pain levels go up and I have much more trouble with exercise-related urticaria (which is a histamine reaction, basically). So for me, Scienca does exactly what Dr. D says it should do--reduces inflammatory response in a gentle but thorough way.

Actually, now that I think about it, and after reading what Brighid said about Scienca having a histamine controlling action, I did manage to make it through a rather pollen laden Spring season
without overreacting as I had in the past.  Perhaps this formula tempers the immune system is a very
powerful way through the mechanism of combined herbs which for me probably helped to manage an over-reactive immune system......But to give a testimony, I couldn't quantify this until thinking about allergens.  Didn't help my achy knees but boswellia individually does help.... I now realize
that Scienca did contribute to a comfortable change of seasons, one with trees blooming, flowers and plants pollinating and I felt that I got through it pretty successfully. Even with a lot of mold in the
air from a very rainy season I wasn't walking around with a stuffy nose or headache.

I guess that's what was so difficult to quantify.  Didn't know what to look for to compare before/after
taking this formula.

Thanks, Brig!  Before I posted this thread, I did a search of this site to see if there was already an existing thread discussing Scienca and people's experiences with it, and there wasn't, so I really thought it might be helpful to start one.  I guess because it is a new product, that's why so few seem to have tried it yet.  Thanks for posting your experience with it here, as it could really help folks searching for info on it.

I'm excited to try mine, in fact, I think tomorrow might be the day I do.  Good point that Lloyd made re getting tumeric in his regular diet, as well as quercetin, yet I think a supplemental dose could really help Gatherers like us, and I'm excited about the bromelain.  I've never actually tried bromelain, other than the natural bromelain in the fresh pineapple itself.  Hopefully, this supplement will help my knees out and, like you said, reduce inflamation from exercise, systemically, including in my just-mentioned KNEES.*

I eat a very anti-inflamatory diet, but this supplement of basically distilled superfoods should complement that!

I'm pretty sure the generous supply of turmeric I eat every single day is why the pine pollen didn't drive me nuts this past spring. Plus, it helps keep my joints flexible, and I hardly ever have any pains there unless I twist something the wrong way. Even then it doesn't last very long. I take other anti-inflammatories in supplements, such as Boswellia, etc..

Can you share some of the ways you're using turmeric?  I bought a bottle but am not sure which foods
are complimented by it.  Would gladly try incorporating it into my diet if I had some advice.
