I'm pretty sure the negative issue in this article is referring to lecithin that comes from GMO soybeans. And then of course, one size doesn't fit all.
One of the biggest problems associated with soy lecithin comes from the origin of the soy itself. The majority of soy sources in the world are now genetically modified (GM). Researchers have clearly identified GM foods as a threat to the environment, pollution of soils and a long-term threat to human health with links to of the world with unnatural genetic material that may have unknown long-term consequences with links to decreased fertility, immunological alterations in the gut and the exacerbation and creation of allergies. Genetically engineered soy contains high concentrations of plant toxicants. The presence of high levels of toxicants in the GM soy represent thousands of plant biochemicals many of which have been shown to have toxic effects on animals.
I can't speak for anyone else, but SWAMI rates lecithin as a beneficial food for me....and is included in my membrane fluidizer combining flax oil, lecithin and juice.
In any event, anyone choosing to include lecithin in their diet should be seeking out organic products to avoid the GMO issue.

I like your quote, Andrea. I'm healthy, but this is a conundrum for me: I ate a very small serving of my grandson's rich birthday cake recently and never noticed any problem at all. (There is no telling how many "evil" ingredients it contained!) I did take a capsule to help with the gluten, just in case I actually have a problem with it. On the other hand, some of my diamond foods nearly drive me nuts, and the problem seems to only get worse the better I feel and the healthier I become. It is a mystery, to be sure. Yogurt is an avoid for me the same as that piece of cake, but if I eat any of it my stomach hurts for three days. Only slightly more than mozzarella cheese which is a super food. Needless to say, I seldom eat mozzarella and never eat yogurt anymore. One thing for sure, I am so thankful for the amount of individualization in SWAMI that we do have or else I would go nuts for sure! Hooray for SWAMI!
