A couple of friends? Are these issues common with people in their 20's? If so, I would say there is a big, big health problem here of the broadest sense. Diet, medications, environmental toxins... all are implicated. And don't forget that exercise is a must.

Are you talking about sex drive as in: I have little or no interest in sex?
Or are you saying I have little if any interest in a long night of sex?
or are you suggesting That the partner does not feel satisfied/
Or can you not get exited because the feelings of excitement of meeting a new person subsides right after sex/
I think that in today's world the word sex is not the same as long ago. Sex today is often perceived as a game of who can get whom... leaving out feelings or patients or intimacy that feeds the next sexual encounter.
Maybe I am not seeing sex as the same as a relationship, and therefore having orgasm as much less stimulating. I think much pressure is put on young people to behave and interpret sex as a power game. I think that kind of sex is much less exiting for the next time.
At 21-23 the question ought not be of ability to have sex but the ability to woe the partner to have sex - later. Later as in when all the feelings come together and promote not just the sex act but rather a caring sexual experience.
Sorry these would be my questions.. but I am way older .... and having a sex drive is not my problem.
YET, if you really have a issue performing, I would strongly suggest that you see a doctor you trust. Not being able or not having staying power, nor ability to satisfy are different problems. Fear can be paralyzing, meaningless sex might be meaningless, a quick y in the hallway is not sex to build feelings on. Feelings or body responses to the idea of sex are two different things, and one or the other might need different helpful answers.

I took tribulus briefly to increase testosterone. It worked very well, and as a side effect, I was quite easily aroused, too. I was under the care of a ND who checked blood work every three months. A blood test might be the first step to dealing with whatever issue you have. Bear in mind that your largest sex organ is your brain. |

Thanks, Amazone. BP was never a problem for me. Besides, my ND doesn't check that. Twas a few years ago. I've been seeing an ND on/off since 2007, initially for the precursors to metabolic syndrome. At some point (and after a brief switch of doctors) testosterone was measured and found to be low. So I started on the tribulus and got it back up (no pun intended) within just three months. In fact, my levels were near the high end, and I had to back off. |

If you are comparing yourself to what is portrayed in the movies/entertainment, you are likely to feel inadequate or abnormal. Those portrayals are fantasies. Real life is much more moderate! If you do actually have a problem, the above suggestions are very good. I second the thought of tribulus (works for females too!) and that sex drive starts in the brain. |

Low sex drive can be caused by any source of ill health- when you're tired, who has energy for sex? Eating and exercising right for your body type can definitely improve overall health, and may reverse "low libido" if it was caused by ill health.
Bear in mind that everybody has a personal sex drive that may be way higher or lower than "average." This includes both "interest in sex" as well as "physical ability to keep on going and going." We're all individuals, and the only time "low sex drive" is really a problem is when there's an imbalance in a relationship; when one partner wants it much more often than the other, it can cause all kinds of problems. One partner feels pressured, the other unsatisfied. This can be worked through, but is a source of tension.
So, without knowing what you mean by "low libido" it's impossible to know if there's even a problem that needs fixing. |

I see morning ability to satisfy as the key to measuring the PHYSICAL health of libido. In the afternoon or evening stress might have set in and one is to tired. If however there is little interest nor a healthy response mentally and physically then there might be a real problem needing to see a good doctor.
5HTP (over the counter) might work just to get self confidence up to find not only satisfaction on your on, but finding a partner that is just a little more involved, like for instance, someone who likes you and you like also. Emotions can make a big difference.
5HTP works on the whole body getting somewhat more awake. It functions to boost the precursor to Testosterone and so is not directly a hormone or the like. But the body sees it as a healthy support to get over fear, intimidation, or low self esteem.
It may help to just get over a momentary 'failure' . I would try 5HTP by anyone who is feeling blue, even those without sexual issues. I think even older people might benefit from taking it daily at first and later take it once a week. It's cheap too.
All the best. |
