there’s no independent evidence to suggest the flu vaccines work. |

I've backed off on the Proberry. I think I was taking too much of it and it was affecting my immune system. I do take collinsonia and higher levels of Vitamin D in the winter. I've had this persistent post nasal drip and I'm pretty sure it's an allergy of some sort. I've been taking Zyrtec for that and Mucinex if I have too. |

I am TOTALLY in agreement with Mayflowers suggestion of Elderberry...which is Dr D's Proberry. Two weeks ago my hubby got the flu/cold and was shaking like a leaf and all of his bones ached. He doubled up on proberry and the next day he was feeling pretty good. I take it everyday during the flu season. Just wonderful stuff. The Proberry extract is excellent for the throat also. Debra
Yes, I love Proberry too. It's so convenient to carry around with you, and works really fast. I buy is as my budget allows. |

Too much of a good thing? I drink the tea 2-3 times a week. I remember Dr. D said something about Elderberry can over stimulate the O's immune system but I thought that was in younger people? Like under 12 and up to 35? |

I came down with the flu on Dec 4th. .
How's your vitamin D levels? You wouldn't have contracted anything if they were high enough. That's why the flu is around in the winter time. Because most people's vitamin D levels are low. If you took Proberry and it didn't work then you had some other kind of flu "like" URI . Because elderberry kicks the flu's butt.. it doesn't get worse taking elderberry. |

I just read this using Dr. D.'s Alternapedia: "Vitamin D appears to have effects on immune function.[32] It has been postulated to play a role in influenza with lack of vitamin D synthesis during the winter as one explanation for high rates of influenza infection during the winter." Interesting indeed!
Ha! just saw this. That's exactly what I just said to KK. IMO, She didn't have the flu she had a viral URI. |

Mayflowers,
IF I have some 'other' type of URI, why is it certain that Vit D would have been the magic bullet immune builder that would have prevented anything developing in my lungs? ??? |

I just read yesterday, to put an onion with both ends cut off in a bowl to ward off the flu and also of a doctor found out some one put on in a pneumonia patient's room and by morning the onion turned black, and the patient healed quickly. Truth,Myth, I don't know yet? The onion was checked and the antibodies were in it. |
