Anybody use "Collinsonia Plus?" I just bought some, but it has not arrived. What can I expect? I have a touch of post nasel drip and I want to fix that.
Does it work well? Any side-effects? |

Hi Jared, I consider it a long term solution for chronic conditions. It is not going to be like taking an over-the-counter decongestant or antihistamine. It will gradually shrink swollen sinuses and lower that inflammation. It's meant to be taken for an extended period of time.
I've used it off and on for years. It's very helpful for me since I'm prone to have stuffy sinus and post-nasal drip. It has improved the situation for me and I've never seen negative side effects from it. |

hmm.. sounds good. Do you know if it has any negative effects on the male erection? Any time I take anything that claims to tighten vascular tissue I notice a more difficult time with erections. Stone root is a vaso-constrictor. |

let me ask you this: "how compliant are you? " ....ask not what collinsonia can do for you, but what you can do for collinsonia to do its thing http://www.4yourtype.com/allergies.aspif that you mention were a side effect, Dr D would be the first to let us know.... nutriceuticals act differently than pharmaceuticals.... |

I tried it last year and had very good results vs over the counter medicine.
Same thing this year. Congestion much improved and much less runny nose.
Experimenting with 3 a day to see if I can get rid of more mucus.
No side effects. |

My type O daughter sneezes like crazy every day, rounds of 6-10 sneezes at a time. She's been to allergists, and a very good ENT, with no relief. Allergy pills and sprays really don't help. A course of steroids did help, temporarily, it also helped her adult acne (she's 24).
Do you think Collinsonia Plus would help her?
She is probably about 80% compliant, and is trying very hard to avoid gluten.
Thanks for any info! |

Steriods are for everybody. Her acne try the thyme tincture that Dr. D recommends-- my daughters back acne cleared up with it. Why not try the collinsonia-- and see what do you have to lose. She does need to take it for a bit it is not like a steroid that works quickly. |

Thanks Andrea, for the suggestion of Thyme Tincture. I looked on the Blood Type store, but didn't see it there. Is that where you purchased it? How would she apply it to her face.
I think she will give the Collinsonia a try. I will remind her to give it time to work. Neither of us liked the idea of the steroids, but... He thought she had a deep seated sinus infection, and it did reduce the inflammation. She was virtually sneeze free, for about a month. The first time in 10 years! The Collinsonia looks like it might help!

Thanks Andrea! We'll look into it!
Lola, she's probably about 80% compliant. We don't know if the acne is diet related, hormonal, or stress related. She's an RN in a nursing home, second shift, and sometimes goes 8 hours without eating due to the demands of her job. She loves the work, but.... It does keep her jumping!
Thanks for the advice guys! |

Won't matter if it is stress or bacteria treat it with this and you will see an improvement.

Ok, she ordered 3 bottles of the Collinsonia Plus, excitedly waiting for improvement. We'll let you guys know! We also are trying the Thyme/vodka tincture for her acne. We found some 195 proof vodka!! Yikes!! She snipped up the Thyme, and added the vodka, and stirred. She took a whiff, and.... I think that cleared her sinus' all the way to her toes!!! Wowza!! Glad we aren't drinking it!! So, tomorrow she adds the water, and bottles the brew. When she washes with it, does she rinse it off? or just use it like a toner wipe it on, leave it on? Thanks for the recipe, we will report on the 'brew's' effectiveness ! |

Has anyone used Collinsonia for piles (haemorrhoids)??? I seem to suffer from them occasionally although I don´t have chronic constipation...usually around menstruation I can become a little ´congested´and then I get a pile which can bleed, though causes me no great discomfort...The doctor prescribed steroid pessaries which I have used but only have temporary effect. I would love if Collinsonia worked, so would appreciate if anyone has had success with it..... |

Yes it will work but you need to take in in season and out-- go off for a week and then restart. |

Yes, they work. Take them ongoing, with periodic breaks as Andrea said. Also keep your fluid intake sufficient and well thought-out fiber intake in your diet. Lots of fresh vegetables, plus something like Dr. D's larch fiber would be great. It is called ARA6. http://www.4yourtype.com/searchprods.asp |

Thank you Andrea and Victoria...I will definitely try it then. I do eat lots of fresh veg and drink plenty of water..I think with me at the moment it is a hormonal issue, but I want to finally be rid of the tendency for piles |

I bought some dried stone root (Collinsonia canadensis) from Mountain Rose Herbs last month. I brew it triple strength (1 T per each cup of water steeped in boiling water until cold) and then use 1/2 cup in my morning smoothie. It smells terrible and tastes a bit like it smells. I tried adding small amounts to my hibiscus-olive leaf tea and it overpowered it. In my smoothie, the other ingredients cover up the taste. I have noticed a slight reduction in my post nasal drip. Hopefully, long term use will eliminate it. One pound of stone root is $16 and will last me 2-3 months. Fron this website http://www.ehow.com/way_5314724_herbs-detox-body.html :

Stoneroot, related to the mint family, has diuretic and diaphoretic properties that allow it to promote toxin excretion through urination and perspiration. Stoneroot supports venous elasticity and cleanses the blood. This powerful herb contains expectorant and mucolytic properties, which may promote clearing of sinus and chest congestion and inflammation, making it particularly useful in detoxifying the respiratory system. Stoneroot is most inexpensively found in capsule form at most health food stores. Brew stoneroot tea at home by steeping one teaspoon of the organic, dried herb in a cup of boiling water for five minutes. Drink the tea twice a day as part of an overall body detox.
