Blessings to all from Golfzilla! As a testimony for those who do not know me I have been on the BT/GT/Swami program for three years now @ 90+% compliance. Was able to get off Lipitor, Paxil, Nexium, and lost 20 pounds (and have kept it off!) all within six months of adopting this lifestyle I stop in from time to time to wish find all my BT friends well! I have returned this time to seek advice... While on a golf trip of recent I had an attack of kidney stones, ouch Unfortunately this is not the first time, but this was the first this has occured since my lifestyle change to BTD/GTD/Swami. I need to pass this stone; be careful what I wish for right? I have checked the protocols and saw the urinary tract advice. I am taking oil of oregano to keep the possibility of an infection in check as I am passing a fair amount of blood as the stone is moving through and obviously I am drinking as much water as I am able to choke down. Any thoughts from the experienced would be much appreciated! BTW, for the golfers out there - I got my second hole in one this past spring and shot my lowest score (74) this year - whoo hoo! Cheers from Golfzilla! |

I have one as we speak. It has moved into my bladder and now I have no symptoms. I am hypothesizing that I have been eating too much protein which is one of several causes of kidney stones. I can't give you any advice except to drink plenty of fluids |

Do you know if you're dealing with uric acid stones or calcium stones? If they are uric acid stones, then supplementing malic acid should help a lot. |

There was a long thread on them a while ago by Policychecker. Welcome back Golf and congrats on your second hole in one. I'm still playing on the small par 3. Maybe I'll graduate next year...lol. I've had 2 hole in ones there on holes that are very short, 70 or 80 yards. I'm usually thrilled to just get a couple of pars. Hope you feel better soon. I've heard that it's very painful. |

Quoted from the BTD Encyclopedia, pg. 342
Reduce your intake of oxalate from food as a way to reduce urinary oxalate. Although many foods contain oxalate, only a few appear to increase urinary oxalate. These foods are spinach, rhubarb, beet greens, nuts, chocolate, tea, bran, almonds, peanuts, and strawberries.
Urinary Tract Protocol is the only other recommendation. |

This seems to be a time of year when kidney stones make their presence. My husband had them several years ago, and that's what he was told by a nurse.
My husband used to work with a Korean woman; and she told him that, in Korea, patients are told to go home and drink beer until the stone(s) pass.
An accupuncturist told my husband that he could've caused them to break apart by his treatment---he didn't try it, so we don't know if it would work)
The following is what was prescribed by our nutrition advisor for my husband's stones. 1 gallon of water a day (can be part cleaver's tea) Pyridoxal 5 phosphate Magnesium citrate with B6 (this, he was supposed to take for the rest of his life to prevent them from returning) Potassium citrate (3 times a day, 3 hours apart---1 then 3 hours a 2nd one, then three hours later take the 3rd one with 1 pyridoxal 5 phosphate)
Note: Our youngest son's coworker also had kidney stones recently.

I think my thread was perhaps on gallstones. anyway the following might help but be aware it is not blood type specific so I would adjust it and personally I use Dr D's supps when and wherever I can. also note that a lot of protocols don't take into account that people have diabetes for example when they recommend juice cleanses etc so be careful and check everything. http://curezone.org/cleanse/kidney/default.asp |

md, interesting about the time of year notation. I like the beer pescription but Lola told me several years ago I couldn't drink it any more Plus I'd have to fire myself if I showed up at work drunk I am familiar with the mag & b6, will check out the balance of the equasion, thank you! |

Anyone and I mean anyone who gets kidney stones gets them for one reason. You are dehydrated and not drinking enough water. 64 oz a day.
I'm trying to gag down 48 oz a day. I come from a family of non water drinkers and my father got kidney stones. My sister hates water and just drinks coffee.. She got kidney stones...I gag down the water. I don't get kidney stones. Such a very simple cure and prevention. really. |

Hello Golf! https://mall.ppcserver.net/mm5.....mp;Category_Code=007 Phyllanthus Niruri or Chanca Piedra (Breakstone) Chanca Piedra is a composite name, "chanca" meaning "to break" in Quechua and "piedra" meaning "stone" in Spanish. Chanca Piedra got its name because one of the outstanding qualities of this herb, according to Peruvians is to break up and expel both kidney stones and gall stones. It is believed to help stimulate the production of bile and to promote healthy liver and gall bladder function. It is also traditionally used to clear obstruction throughout the various internal organs of the body by promoting the elimination of mucous and stones. http://store.wholeworldbotanicals.com/Royal-Break-Stone-s/2.htmhttp://store.wholeworldbotanicals.com/Royal-Break-Stone-Kidney-Support-4oz-p/bkrx4.htmhttp://store.wholeworldbotanic.....-Caps-p/bkrvc120.htmThis herb may also be sold in one form or another at a good natural food store or found at various other sites on the internet. I have also heard of people using unsweetened lemon juice in water, drunk throughout the day. I don't know the quantities, but perhaps it is an idea you could research some more.
V, I knew all I had to do was reach out and you would be there The info on the Break Stone tea is fascinating! I will get this ordered tonight and will keep you posted as to results. I began drinking warm water with fresh squeezed lemon juice as soon as I felt the first tingle of the stone moving towards its destination. I do hope you have been well and your life is good! Cheers! |

This about sums up the kidney stone issue... I've only had a very small one, but it was enough to let me know that I didn't want another... |

Lola! I was so hoping you would weigh in... Yes still onboard with my brother the Swami~ Dairy is extremely limited to cheese in small amounts - manchego(sp?) the best cheese I ever ate! & Romano~ Liver clense about six months(?) ago~ Is it possible this is genetic as I have passed several over the years. I must say I have not enjoyed this one any more than the others, and it makes me appreciate what my Mom went through to give me life I hope you are well and your practice is thriving! Cheers from Atlanta! |

At least you're willing to add water.. my sister is so stubborn. Just start carrying a bottle of water around with you at all times and keep taking sips. That's what I do. I can easily go all day without drinking.. I would find myself somwhere and suddenly I feel thirsty...I have my water with me and I just start drinking! I have to constantly police myself. I buy the 20 oz bottles of spring water. Drink 2 of those a day plus ice tea and you're done. I count ice tea as water, because I drink it very diluted. |

Lots of good advice on this thread.... Our urologist friend (who has treated friends of ours) often recommends beer/lemonade along with water and cranberry juice for kidney stones. |
