Since others have posted about such great results from taking D-Monnose for UTI's, I have taken it a few times for irritation with wonderful results, but another thing this supplement has helped has been a pain in my side that I get now and then. I would think it was helping some problem in my kidney on that side, but my right kidney is displaced and is not even where this discomfort is located. So I'm wondering what other possibilities there are for this product to be helping, because it gets rid of the pain in about 20-30 minutes every single time!! Every time I've gotten that particular pain, and I take D-Monnose, it is like magic! So I'm wondering about this metabolic disorder they mention here. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-.....MANNOSE&source=0D-mannose is used for preventing urinary tract infections (UTIs) and treating carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome, an inherited metabolic disorder.http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/inherited-metabolic-disorder-types-and-treatments |

Well, I'm already taking these, and the pain still comes for some reason that I can't figure out why, not yet anyway. But D-Monnose makes it go away in a few minutes. It is strange indeed because I have had this going on for a long time. I had about decided that it was arthritis. I think I already mentioned a while ago that I fell out of a tree when I was young and hit a stump on that side hard enough to knock me out. So that is the reason I was wondering about arthritis ..... |

Spring: maybe you should take a lower dose every day for maintenance, and then when you have an issue, increase the dose. |

Thanks, Amazone. I haven't had any problems with UTI's in many years, but I had plenty of them before that. Or at least they were diagnosed as UTI's. After I stopped taking oral iodine and got Candida under control they disappeared. I am allergic to iodine. But I am careful to get my allotted amount of egg yolks. Don't know how this might fit into our diets with so many other things to consider but here is something worth noting, I suppose: http://news.temple.edu/news/diet-high-methionine-could-increase-risk-alzheimers |

Thanks, RedLilac, but the pain that is only occasional in my side is what I was originally writing about. The d-Mannose alleviates it in about twenty minutes, so I only take about one-half of a capsule of it for that now and then. It isn't something I take every day. I've just been puzzled about why it even works! Once or twice I have used it for minor bladder irritation which is brought on by lifting too much. I had used cranberry capsules for that before. |

I take mannose for accidental gluten ingestion...works really well. Perhaps the pain comes from gluten? |

Very interesting, Melissa_J! I'm not eating any gluten as far as I know, but, as we know only too well, something can slip in now and then. I will certainly be more on the lookout for some sneaky gluten when/if I get the pain again, and D-Mannose "fixes" it!! Thanks!! |
