Hallo, sorry for my english, I'm Italian. I have a 7 months baby, blood type 0, what supplements for her? I never breastfed, now she eat cream of rice or millet, soup carotee and zucchini, pumpkin, sweet potato, hake, beef, chicken, turkey, bananas, plums, apricots, pears. For breakfast she drink milk formula. My pediatrician recommended vitamin d and fluoride, is it right?

Vitamin D might be useful in wintertime - even though you could take her out and get some natural sunlight in late afternoon or early mornings so she doesn´t burn.
I don´t see any use for fluride - I wonder why ?
But I would have give a O baby some probiotics now that she is bottle fed as well as making sure she gets enough good fat. Olive oil and ghee( butter). I would also add egg yolk soon in her diet.

I would never ever chose a soy formula It is not recommended by medical doctors in EU. Soy formula is a totally different product than soymilk. None of them are ok for O babies.
IF you want to change and I really don´t think there is any reason now that your daughter is eating solids you could look into a Hypoallergenic product like Nutramigen, profylac, althera or maybe a goat milk based. Goat milk is less "evil" for O babies.
But I would make sure to get my O child on lots of real foods ( also beef broth/soup and turkey/chicken broth for good minerals- you can cook the veggies in it.
If it is possible buy the O probiotics but if not there is other good brand out there- but probiotics is really imortant to formula fed babies.

Don't worry about your English- it's WAY better than my Italian! I only know a few words, most of them foods.
I would not give the floride. It was prescribed for my own children, and I chose not to give it to them after doing research on it. I suggest that you research the floride issue for yourself and make your own decision.
Vitamin D is a good idea though, as many people today are deficient. I would be wary of the vitamin D supplement specifically sold for children, as many of them add unhealthy ingredients like sugar, artificial colors, etc. Look for a liquid vitamin D supplement that's just the vitamin in oil and give her that, or use cod liver oil.
If she's getting vitamin D in her formula, this may not be necessary. How much formula is she getting each day? My children at that age were just dabbling in solids, getting most of their calories from breastmilk. I'm not really sure though, for a type O baby, if she's better off getting less cow's milk/ more "type O" foods (to minimize the cow's milk that's bad for O's), or if she still needs large amounts of milk because she's a baby.

Ruth I don´t think the formulas in EU has enough D - the danish kids are adviced to get D even when they are formula fed. we can get 3 versions In Cod liver oil a brand with olive oil and in coconut oil. I would choose 1 or 2

Oh in America the formulas have vitamin D added, so only the breastfed babies are advised to get the vitamin D supplement. It's done in a way that subtly implies that formula is "just right" and breast milk is "lacking."

hallo! thanks to all for your answers! I'd like to visit New York, Denmark and Indiana too!!!! So, I think, stop floride e ok vitamin D Now I'm trying to understand if I have to replace the formula or not. My daughter eats 4 meals a day, lunch and dinner with solid food and breakfast and snack with the formula. She is 7 months old and I never breastfed because I did not have milk so she eats milk formula since 7 months, do you think to replace it with something else?

I would not replace the formula IF she is fine with it. But just add more and more real food...
I would say that 4 meals at 7 months is not that much - but if she is happy and grows well then fine.
Doesn´t she eat anything late at night ?
I just looked at my daughters book and when she was 9 months she had 5 meals a day
Early Breakfast around 7 often ryebread or spelt bread with egg, butter or liver pate- or oatmeal/rice with raw fruit ( she didn´t really like runny or mashed up food
lunch 11 veggies with butter or olive oil and some kind of protein like fish or beef /turkey
afternoon 15 breastmilk or almondmilk with some fruit
dinner18 ; what ever I had ( I prefered to give her real food but with extra fat)
and then formula or breastmilk(I was slowly stoping breastfeeding) before bed around 20
I love to come to Italy again

Is she a happy child?
No stomach pain?
Are you home with her..
Do you go for long walks or let her sleep out doors in the day time?
All that is important..
Does she wear a hat?
Does she like broth/ soup consomme..
Do you have clean meat?
When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfectionBeing 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships

micaela.... and Baby.. because I had stomach pain all my first 32 years from milk.. You have a happy baby! great.
Long walks are good for fresh air and sunshine to absorb natural Vit D, and to be with Mama and friends that admire the baby.
Soup is good for baby and her bones- she is O for now..
Clean meat.. if you can get organic meat or from a fresh air farm near you, without chemicals.. what is the baby's birthday? Are you O also?
A sister moved to Italy again.. she loves it, .. we are on international family.. we live in the USA, in Hungaria, Italia, Liechtenstein, Swizzera..

I'd be hesitant to take a baby off formula before a year old. If she's not having any obvious problems from the milk formula, keep her on it. Babies need milk, period. Ideally, all human babies would get human milk, but we don't live in an ideal world.
For babies who can't get breastmilk, they need some other form of milk, and infant formula is a decent substitute. If she wasn't tolerating the milk formula, I'd research alternative formulas for her, or else a VERY carefully planned menu so she got all she needed without the milk- but that would be less than ideal.
