A friend of mine thinks she has a UTI and doesn't want to use antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. She's a type O, diabetic (under control via diet) but not currently on BTD. She's already drinking plenty of water. Her symptoms are urinary pain and urgency, but only a small amount of urine comes out when she goes to the bathroom.

Are there any herbs or supplements that she can use to help her?

I just ordered some of this because of something I recently read about it. Should get it tomorrow. People need to keep this in their "arsenal."

this merely resembles to a so called *overactive bladder* or overactive u- tract -syst.
this might be also driven by our central nervous system- would not go for antibiotics but ther's *spasmo urgenin * from Rotthapharm /Madaus or go even for boswellia serrata but gel and put it onto top of the bladder... helps tremendiously ....

Spasms of the bladder can be desperately painful.       And it takes so little sometimes to alleviate a good portion of it. I don't doubt that the boswellia gel would help. And it would work quickly.

nearly all essential oils can help out too- I made the experience that the boswellia gel penetrates much quicker and when mixed with a little of minth oil it's working amazingly....you get a feeling of refreshing cold ontop but whithin minutes no more pains ... and no antibiotics needed....

I would be wanting to know that there is no more serious stuff going on on the inside..

What of gout? Cherry juice to clean the blood, or cranberry might be help.

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Uricare by Himalaya.

This was prescribed to me by my doctor. I'd been taking it as prophylaxis/precaution after my first operation, when I was suffering for a whole year (2009) from a colon/vagina fistula (yes, quite appauling and mainly frightening. It was taken care of in my second op). During that time, I took Uricare and never suffered from UTI. I have to add that I have been on BTD/GTD since 2006.

Cranberry juice is highly and regularly recommended, also by Infectious Disease specialists.

I agree - if she has a juicer perhaps she could make some fresh cranberry juice.

Maybe some raw garlic would help too.

I think the big issue is drinking water. Every person who gets UTI's don't drink water. I'll bet the farm on it.

She's doing better today, even without using any herbs or supplements. The diet she's on isn't BTD compatible or free from synthetic additives, but it is low carb/high protien and it's keeping her  blood sugar well controlled. She's also drinking a large quantitiy of water as part of the program. That's probably why the UTI cleared out  by itself so quickly. I'm still not entirely sure how she got it in the first place.

I am a good example of this diet doing great things for NONNIES, just like Dr. D. has been telling us for years!! I used to have UTI's constantly - had all kinds of horrible issues with it, but I have not had a single one in over twenty years simply because I was already doing most of the important things Dr. D. recommends before I ever heard of him. The few things I was not doing, however, were very important relating to other issues.

What would all the misery we all have avoided look like if it were piled in a great big heap?!!!!!!
