There is some controversy about guggul being estrogenic, like soy.

But Dr. D recommends it for O's and cardiovascular health.

Is this comparable to the unjustified soy fear and A's?

Dr D
Guggul can help A's fight cardiovascular disease, but will often giive O's a particularly nasty rash.

True, it works.

But is it estrogenic for O's?

see for yourself

why would you be wanting to take it?

what do you wish to address?

It's supposed to be good for thyroid health and fat loss.

The Encyclopedia recommends guggul for O's, but I don't want to increase my estrogen levels.

There are so many variables. How much do you plan to take, how long, what are you taking/doing that might contraindicate guggul and on and on.

There are also ways to inhibit transformation of testosterone to estradiol.

Once you start playing with too many things, it is like the person who takes a prescription to counteract the side effects of another prescription.

It may be better to take the minimalist route that targets the fewest possible things in the least intrusive way. Another method is to work on one thing while monitoring everything else. You have to figure out what you are doing, and why.

A quick look around the net indicates there is reason to think guggul might affect estrogen levels.

True. I just wanted to know whether there was a potential exception for O's and guggul--like A's and soy.

Thanks for responding.
