Yes, it works. The folate helps absorption. It uses 2 special forms of B-12 that are most bioavailable. From Wikipedia: {A common synthetic form of the vitamin, cyanocobalamin, does not occur in nature, but is used in many pharmaceuticals and supplements, and as a food additive, because of its stability and lower cost. In the body it is converted to the physiological forms, methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, leaving behind the cyanide, albeit in minimal concentration.}
Also, lamb and calf liver, which are both good for type B's, have the highest amounts of B-12. So try to add this to your diet. |

B-12 is not bioaccumulated from the soil into plants and then into animals. It is mostly produced from bacteria in fermenting plant material which becomes part of the flora in the intestines of animals including humans. So, it may also be beneficial to take probiotics and focus on maintaining a healthy gut and maximize absorption capabilities. |

Sec, thanks so much- so it is handy knowing the secretor status in addition to bloody type? I've got to read about the genotype too....is it handy knowing all these 'statuses" to get a proper overall picture of our health? funny, doctors don't even touch on the issues we discuss in these forums.....no wonder most people are ill! |

If you have unresolved health issues, this information may be the difference in whether you are able to regain health or continue to remain sick or get worse. If you are currently healthy, your body may be handling any 'avoid" food intake issues until you have a trauma or illness that taxes the system to where some of the avoid damage starts to accumulate. |
