I've had allergic sinusitis for the past 2 days although its very much lessened in severity compared to other years. Has the allergy protocol worked for anyone while they were in the midst of an allergic infection? It's coming from new species of tree pollen that I have never lived with before, and my mother's filthy house, unfortunately. |

I find Stinging Nettle leaves (Urtica dioica) particularly effective in dealing with tree pollen. |

To what, in particular, are you allergic in your mom's house? Maybe you should help her clean up, or bring in a maid / cleaning service? |

The best quick-fix for me is a sinus rinse. I like the Nasaline better than a Neti Pot, with the addition of good sea salt and baking soda.
I take Quercetin, Bromelain and Nettle leaf pretty much on-going during allergy season. And I use the sinus rinse daily, as well as saline eye washes as needed, and gargling with warm salt water. |

) when you live with a cantankerous, 87 year old woman who is a recluse, you actually need a social worker from the State to come in and make regular visits to advocate for the cleanliness of the house, and her own personal welfare, especially if she is developing memory and emotional problems. I'm waiting for my backup as we speak ) |

I had forgotten (even as I took my benadryl over and over) that SPRAYING often with this inside the nostrils somehow relieved the body of having to pump out so much mucous to carry the offending pollen away. I believe it was said that salt shrinks the size of the inflamed tissue? If you do a spray bottle does it just cleanse the nose only (because there are cavities in the cheeks and forehead as well? I wish we could stick a garden hose in one ear and clean out our whole head by letting it all flow out the other ear........simple ) ha ha I tried some pineapple today for bromelain, along with aspirin for anti-inflammation - but my nose started running like a faucet and the histidine reactions came back. Benadryl till I can get stinging nettle and quecetin tomorrow then. |

Seraffa, You are definitely in my area now.. ( I've had chronic sinusitis and 2 nasal surgeries/sinuplasty ) Daily: Neilmed sinus rinse..am and pm nose inhaler(prescription) for polyps zyrtec or allegra (for antihistamine) do not eat wheat or cow dairy!(only sheep dairy) wear a dental(soft) mask for housecleaning/gardening/outside in wind, etc. drink alot of water and green tea start each day with oil pulling and freshly squeezed lemon in water yoga ( it really helps the sinus cavities, even if for one day ) wash your hands alot! |

If she has memory problems, it's probably not the best idea that she be left alone, and you say you live with her. In the meantime, why involve the State if all she needs is a clean house? Can you or a maid not periodically clean it? (That's what the social worker would ask you, the younger resident without the memory problem.) If your sinus condition prevents you from cleaning your home, why not hire a housekeeper? |

I had a delicious pineapple in the fridge, so I ate that in addition to my bromelain. Worked great while I was out a lot of the day in all that pollen! You sound like me about the garden hose. There have been times in the past when I was having trouble swallowing water, and I would just wish I could use a garden hose!! ( ) Full blast! |
