I have a type O friend I've been working with lately. She is trying to eat right for her type, but has digestive and fatigue issues and food sensitivities. She is probably a Hunter, or maybe an Explorer. She has tried supplementing with probiotics before, but they make her constipated. Do you know why, and what can be done about it? |

If the probiotics are not from Dr. D, who knows what results you could get. |

Just to remind, hydrated doesn't only mean more water, also a grain of sea salt in the drinking water - excellent! |

My daughter had that reaction to polyflora O. It turns out that there are ingredients in the polyflora that are "avoids" on her SWAMI. Dr. Maura told her to stop taking them. I used one as a starter in my beet kvass, which I consume, but I have yet to get my daughters to try it.
If your friend hasn't been using "right for her type" probiotics, that could be the problem right there. If she has this reaction to Dr D's stuff, then the problem might be with the additives in the pills, not the probiotics themselves. |

These are all good ideas. Thank you for your suggestions! I have an idea of my own to put out here. The probiotic bacteria help digest the food we eat, so I wonder if taking probiotics might cause you to start absorbing more of what you eat, therefore leaving less to excrete. I've recently started taking probiotics myself, and I noticed that I'm not producing at much waste, but I don't feel constipated. Maybe I should ask for some clarification from her. |

I think it would be very unusual for probiotics to constipate a person, but I suspect as you say TJ something else must be going on also. I like the suggestions others have made on the water with sea salt, and linseed also called flax, I do the flax and it really helps with keeping me regular. I grind up 2 tablespoons a day, and use it with cereal and plenty of water. Let it sit for a bit as flax absorbs a lot of water. Or milk can be used.
Maybe she could also try the foods that work as prebiotics instead of actual probiotics to see if that helps. Lin |

I don't know, but she has tried several different varieties, some capsules and some liquids, and has the same effect. |
