but why and how this product is mentioned for all Bt's as an avoid It seems to be a sort of fiber to enable normal bowl movements.... |

guar gum is a black dot for me although deep blue, meaning I should stay the heck away from it, as it exacerbates inflammatory response in my system for glucan never the less, am very happy adding Trehalose read all about it...... http://n-equals-one.com/blogs/2011/12/22/1851/A blog on a cellular cleansing mechanism that is enhanced by a simple sugar. cellular cleansing mechanism |

Isa, It is my understanding that lectins attach to receptor sites even without being metabolized... The act of digestion releases them to be absorbed into the blood from which they have access to the areas they do damage to... |

TYPE A:Secretor: AVOID: Contains lectin or other agglutinin. Metabolic inhibitor.
Sorry, I read this and assumed the lectin as I didn't know what "other agglutinin" meant... I see that below it says "No data..." under lectin. So there must be agglutinins beside lectins... More things that I didn't know... |

might it be that guar has the same effect onto our bt's while agglutinating as it does with other stuffs (used to get creams more creamy and liquids creamy .... and perhaps Carob isn't that negatively potent as described in the literature of *food managements*.... instead ..... |

Guar gum come from guar beans
Carob bean comes from carob beans
If we go down the list of beans, I see different ratings on a whole lot of different beans. I can look at two beans that seem similar to me and yet one will be an avoid and one be beneficial.
I usually presume the the avoid bean contains a lectin that I should not have and the beneficial one did not have that lectin.
In general I have confirmed that I do well with beans that are rated highly for my type and not so well with the avoids.
---
I have not done any personal testing with guar gum in comparison to an identical food item made with carob gum to know if I would do better or worse with than guar gum.
-----
Besides the presence or absence of lectins in guar gum versus carob bean gum there to the structure of the gum in the two products. The do have different chemical properties and behaviors. This is primarily because there is more galactose branch points in the polysaccharide molecules in guar gum.
To my knowledge Konjac is not rated in any D'Adamo diet system. |
