In "The Genotype Diet", Dr. D. states that one of the benefits of the Hunter genotype is that once they return to a healthy diet, their metabolism recovers and they return to a healthy weight rather quickly...  (pg. 122-3, 124, 125)

My recommendation would be to follow your recommended diet for several months to allow the body to clean and balance before supplementing with something unknown that you probably won't need.

Green tea has the same effect-- why not just use green tea  instead?

It is a form of DHEA that women tend to metabolize better.  It is a hormone that helps with sleep and the sex hormones.

I had to look up what perturbance means, but I understand the answer now.

so yes and possibly no..

BUT what is the stance on hormones ?  I have the menopause book, but after menopause there ought to be more said on the issues .. I have the aging book as well.. does anyone have experiences with hormones that might be better then ignoring them?

One doctor once said.. you are over 60 you have no hormones.. so no test are needed..
ok..
but????   I have issues with that and I think there ought to be much more attention paid to hormones .. to modify weighloss or pain.

both as they apear in foods, or in pill form, or in avoiding them from all scources..

Suzanns Sommers has a lot of good info on bio-identicle hormones.  Without hormones we would die Goldie.  Women need to take their hormone health more seriously and demand that they be taken care of with natural options.

I am coming to that exact conclusion..

Hormones made a big difference recently in my life..

I am wondering though.. does anyone have more info about getting the bio identicals in certain places or do I need to find a expert doctor first.

I for one wish I had my period back..

please share more on what you know or have experienced..

I wonder why there is little mention of hormones with Dr D's books..?? or did I just not focus when I read it.. ?

thanks for feedback..

I went to a gynecologist a few months ago for potential bio-identical hormones because my blood panel showed I am really low on female hormones. It took me a long time to finally decide to do that because I am afraid of cancer. But he said as long as I wasn't having any hot flashes or other symptoms, I didn't need them. Charged me $200.
