I love ARA in any form almost as much as I do Trehalose! When I have a nice serving of my Protein Blend I feel wonderful. A whole gram of ARA!

Is this a once a day thing?
TC is recommended twice daily, 1 level teaspoon each time.

As I wrote, a teaspoon was too much for me in the beginning. The second day I tried 3/4 and that was too much either, but 1/2 a tsp was super. Also, I haven't tried yet to take TC twice daily.

You'll try and see what is the dose that fits you most in the beginning.

What nice limonade TC makes.. Just had a glass.

Cloe that was quite a feat.. what did you learn?  refresh our memories...New eyes and new thinking often offers a new idea.. thanks..............

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

What I learned is that trehalose has improved some people's moods, eyes, helped weight loss,
while others saw skin damage dry up and fall off...I found that seriously awesome and was impressed each time someone added a testimony.  Fascinating thread. Loved it.  Might go back
and read it again.

So today for me was day 3 and this morning for the second day, I used 1/2 tsp of TC plus 1/2 tsp ARA 6.
I have to say that although it's a disgusting rainy day and I generally have aches and pains in my
joints, I felt less achy.  Could that be a coincidence?

After day #1.....that night I had a slight headache.  Next morning had an amazing BM and felt
better.  Not diarrhea but very good elimination.  No headaches after day #1.

I have plain trehalose as well as TC....I have only ingested TC so far..Last night after washing my face before going to sleep, I put some trehalose (the plain stuff) in my hand, added a little water and patted it all over my face.  Slept
with it.  Just an experiment to see if it does anything topically for my skin.  Don't have much sun
damage but wanting to see if I can double the skin clearing effects by using it topically too.

Curious if I'm taking enough.  Although I take melatonin before bed, and sleep soundly, I noticed
the past two nights I didn't feel as deeply asleep.  This is why I'm not feeling ready to add a second dose.  I'm thinking if it's energizing, last thing I want to do is feel too wired when I'm
supposed to be sleeping.

Great thread.....let's keep it going...I kind of wish everyone who hasn't tried it would give it a chance.  I would love to read more testimonies...  I do think it's a good mood booster, although I wasn't exactly in a low mood when I started.

Yaeli, what were your side effects?  Just think my only side effect would be feeling a bit more
wired than usual.  Maybe that means "Go exercise and use up the energy".  Wonder if trehalose
without ribose would be less energizing.  Might try plain trehalose after a few days.  Bought that
from Swanson's....thought I would use it as a sweetener but never did....so had it ready to try.
Made my skin feel soft and smooth.

I like TC on peanut butter, and the two on some beneficial bread.

I never had any troublesome side effects from TC even with larger doses of it. I have heard of people with high blood pressure having a slight elevation when they first started taking it. I was having a little problem with my BC before I started taking it but not long afterwards that went away entirely. Whether TC was responsible for helping with that, I don't know. I certainly don't mind giving it the credit, though!

Yaeli, what were your side effects?
Hi Chloe, I had no side effects!

In the beginning, 1 tspful was too much for me - I wrote about it in post #939 page 38, and ABJoe explained this in post #942 above.

Congratulations for starting to take it!

One of the reasons I like Trehalose Complex instead of plain Trehalose is the addition of pectin, which helps the body carry out redundant cellular waste that is being eliminated.  And the Ribose, of course, which has done wonders with my chronic fatigue.

I think it just helps me feel more alert.  Hard to know if it helped my skin but skin in looking better.  Hard to tell because I also bought a cosmetic product right around the time the TC came out that is supposed to help with dark spots on the skin.

Thanks yaeli....OK, so I went back to read your post about why it took you so long to reach one
teaspoon....and from what I understand, the full dose of TC seemed to have pushed you too fast in a positive direction, at a speed that was uncomfortable and strange..  I'm making myself aware of your experience and keeping my dose low enough so I'm feeling that my body is fully accepting of 1/2 tsp of TC and 1/2 tsp of ARA.  So far so good.

Day #4.  What I'm starting to feel is something that reminds me of peeling away layers of an onion.
It's rather esoteric and abstract for me to try and put this into words....but I guess I could say that
it feels like moving in the right direction, about to make changes for the better, but at the same time, it's leaving something behind and letting completely go of what was.  I had a dream last night
that I was about to be settling into a new space....and the dream had me going into a room of which
there were many like it....many doors....and I chose one room....started settling down, unpacking,
and then suddenly, other people appeared....as if they had chosen this room or space....and at that
point, I had to decide if this was truly the best room to have chosen, or did I want to give up my
space and let others take it and find even a better space.

The choices in my dream reminded me that normally, if I had found something and declared it mine, that I would wish to hold onto it....I wouldn't so readily give up something when I had nothing else
to replace it....but in this dream, I very willingly gave up my space with nothing to replace it....
was ready to move into the great unknown and find another space...I wasn't attached to anything.  I was fluid and open to change whatever needed to be changed.

Pretty darned profound if you ask me.

An update: about 2 weeks ago I reached the recommended Trehalose Complex morning dose, 1 level teaspoon (I still take it only once daily). This took me a whole year. I began with half a teaspoon, later gradually added another quarter, until I recently dared to start taking the whole tsp. I am experiencing/witnessing significant small improvements in getting organized. Keeping simple basic order in daily minute chores is no more a problem to me - a tremendous relief. Daily chores flow and new small practical ideas keep popping in.

In short: Life feels sweeter than ever before.

I am so thankful that you have found something that makes life sweeter for you, Yaeli!   You have certainly done the work to make the most of what TC has to offer! I am so happy for you! (I don't know of any smiley that comes even close to being the moniker for TC!)

Yet I thought someone had said that they slept better taking it at night.  I took it morning and night for quite awhile and had no problem sleeping.

Peanut butter contains tryptophan and maybe the sugar in trehalose is a winning combination for
creating more melatonin.

I don't think so, Drea. This stuff never ceases to amaze me! Plenty of energy in the daytime and restful sleep at night.

I'm a member of the Trehalose Fan Club in a big way!

All my life, I've had a problem remembering names, unless it is someone I interact with frequently.  And it became more of a challenge after a serious illness in 2001, plus the normal aging brain laziness.  After a week on Trehalose, I was surprised to find people's names coming to me.  And now, after much time with Trehalose, I am remembering people's names that I knew as a child and a teenager, that I haven't remembered in decades!  It's quite a marvel to me.

I'm a big supporter of Trehalose and ARA6.  I usually take it in the AM with my other supplements.

But tonight I'm taking it around 6PM so we'll see if I get restful zzzzz's tonight.

OH YES...

as for energy.. we need quite a bit of energy to sleep .. A harried body can  not sleep, can not rest enough to breath, digest, and release.  All that takes energy. If that energy is not there then TC in my interpretation, will at first maybe energize you 'unpleasantly', while later once the body has adjusted, it may no longer be as critical.

I forgot but I think I have taken it both for energy in the morning and for energy to go to sleep.  I believe it can work both ways.. and it can work to the opposite.  In either case it is a means of testing it on YOU and ME .. we are no way the same, and I am not the same every day.  I change every hour every day.

For instance in one diet plan I have used, sleeping 7-9 hours a night was the only way to drop of the weight... specifically getting enough sleep was important!

and.... I believe that as we stop to sleep like babies, we gain weight.  To many waking hours for one, and late evening hours allow more thoughts of food (less my problem, when I go to sleep by - the issue I have is waking after 3-6 hours.. ! so I struggle with dropping weight --  I think on some days it would not hurt to use all sort of things to give me energy to sleep.. maybe time to take the second spoon at night??? Maybe not every day.. but on especially tired days..

I would advise new people to take it by 3 pm.. energy to stay awake all evening and wear off by sleep time.. ?   It's in the testing on one self.  Good luck..
