Spring,

I've been taking lisinopril for a long time with no problems (maybe too long?).  I don't know.  I will try to remember to take Hawthorne regularly.

My litmus test is when I have a doctor's appt.  (almost any doctor even if they are wearing a blue coat instead of a white one).  My blood pressure shoots up automatically before and during the appointment.
If I take my usual dose of BP meds along with Hawthorne and it doesn't skyrocket then I know I'm onto something.

Thanks for the suggestion.

These doctors know very well that many people, if not most, are subject to having their BP rise in their offices. It doesn't mean a thing. Even walking from the waiting room to an exam room can raise a person's BP if they don't let you sit for a bit before they check it. Have you ever had one of them tell you not to cross your legs and have both feet flat on the floor? Breathe slowly and deeply.

Do you have a monitor?  Buying my own was the best thing I did for myself. ReliOn, which is made by OMRON for Walmart, is the best one I've used - Model HEM-741CREL. I like it a lot better than the one OMRON had their own name on! They probably have a newer model now - it has been two or three years since I bought mine.

It may take a few days of taking Hawthorn regularly for it to lower your BP. I used to drink processed organic celery drinks every morning back when mine was giving me a lot of problems.

I chastised a doctor for that very thing a few weeks ago. It was extremely hot, tons of pollen, I had walked quite a distance etc....and was barely in the door and had my BP taken. He was surprised it was higher than usual and then I just shook my head and asked if he was not aware that he should have waited 10-15 minutes and let me relax....my BP is alway great. He seemed very worried and I kept re-affirming that I was not in the least worried to let it go and that I was not going to keel over! (hee, hee, hee!) I took my BP twice a day for a week and sent it to him.

I suppose many patients are not up front with them as well and they are stressed that they will get in trouble...when I say something I mean it and am direct.

Spring,

I never had the experience of a doctor's office telling me never to cross my legs but between your post and Dianne's it is clear that people should be more in charge of how they're blood pressure reacts and doctors should take note.  I also realize that the medical community cannot take a chance on somethings and can be overly cautious.  Im taking two Hawthorne a day for awhile and we'll see what happens.
I did buy a bp monitor at Walmart years ago and used it for awhile.  But the numbers were not always reliable.  I'll take a look for the one that you got that is a newer version.

Dianne,

After two weeks did you hear from the doctor's office about your blood pressure?

Um, okay, well, I'm sort of a skeptical person, but at the same time I'm willing to try anything.  Two non-BTD friends just told me about D-Ribose (in the Trehalose) and that they were able to stop drinking caffeine when they started taking it.  I recently re-developed a heart problem that had vanished with I started this diet 7 years ago and it was suggested that I omit caffeine, use magnesium gel topically over my heart, and take D-Ribose.  Well, in one day's time my heart is back to normal, I had ZERO adjustment time to no caffeine, and I actually feel better.

So I have the same word about Trehalose Complex---definitely WOW!

Wow, Ribbit, that's impressive.

I haven't noticed such dramatic results but I get "white coast syndrome" and I bought a bp cuff at CVS.  I haven't checked it in a while but after I got it, it was textbook fine at home and ridiculously high at the Dr.'s office. I could always feel my bp going up just driving to the doctor's.
It was normal when I was at the hospital for a colonoscopy at the beginning of May so it really is just white coat I think.  I think the idea of getting on the scale makes it go up too.  I always either close my eyes or turn around - silly I know.

I hope the TC has the same effect on me.  Maybe I should be taking more.  I take about 1 tsp in the morning in grapefruit juice.  I have a physical scheduled for August.

This is incredible, Ribbit. I just sent your reply to someone who is trying to stop smoking and has failed with everything under the sun. But I don't know why TC wouldn't work for this problem too! Whoop-de-doo!!! It would be wonderful if it would!!! I am so happy for you!! WOW, is right!!

Dianne. I'm glad you were proactive in letting the doctor know that your blood pressure returned to normal.

Ribbit, that is so encouraging what you posted about your health issue after taking Trehalose.  It just seems to be endlessly fascinating the benefits and side benefits that this particular combination can do for all of us.

Maybe I can get off my blood pressure meds.  Wouldn't that be great.

Ribbit, yes I noticed the need for caffeine was much lessened..

INTERESTING effect as I was suffering form having taken thousands of pills with caffeine and drank mountains of coffee long ago, and suffered greatly during many withdrawals.. and always went back to at least decaf..   Peppermint tea helps to shorten headache days also.

I feel that maybe TC makes withdrawal much easier .. worth a try for any newbe here wanting to get off caffeine.. Taking TC was noticeable right from the start, I just felt it.. now I am taking it for the 4th month and still find new benefits from it.

Well, I didn't think I was going to get that ceiling painted today with my shoulder bothering me (the rainy weather was making it worse), but I decided to keep taking Trehalose Complex until I felt up to it. And it worked!! So the ceiling is painted, and I'm happy!! This stuff hasn't let me down yet!!

If folks on the forum feel skeptical, don't worry, all the rest of us have been, too, at one time or other! It may or may not make me live longer, but I certainly am feeling a whole lot better while I'm still here!!

Spring,

Mission accomplished regarding your ceiling because of T.C.!  That's motivational.  Now once it dries you'll have the enjoyment of looking up and seeing a fresh newly painted area.  That would make me feel good.

What dose did it take (just for this one paint job which is usually a chore) for you.  You said you took more than usual.  So how much is what I'm asking?

Yes, it is a good feeling having this part of the job done! I took an extra one-half teaspoon, and, as usual, I was amazed again how it came to the rescue!! And the funny thing is, it seems so natural and "with it!" I was worried about how my shoulder would feel after all that leaning backwards, and it actually is a LOT better!! What else can I say except "WOW!"
And I haven't even had any Boswellia today! Amazing!

OK Spring.. today Is another NEW day for me..with TC.

HEADACHE...reprt:
Today starting at 4 am I started to have a headache.. way up on my scull cap, not way down my neck, I got up and took milk of Magnesia, and it stayed somewhat the same. In the morning O took another swig.. finally I needed to go to the bathroom as is my morning routine -but no problem..  I think the milk of magnesia is not causing diarrhea when one needs it.. at least so far I have not had any issues- I feel the headache to go away even as i sneezed while typing her for 50 minutes.

**I think Magnesium is giving me strange dreams..
Had strange dreams, of people I know, they seemed so real that I woke thinking Mom was still with me, or a girlfriend of 40 years ago also who moved away..  In my dream moms pulse went to 35 but she was still doing fine..even though I knew she might pass on.. a second time.. ha.

Courage report:
I was taking my pulse a few times over night and this morning, since I am wanting to make sure that I was ok ( because I am taking stuff to stop circular thinking about food ) my pulse was 78 no problem... I was obviously concerned, but I will keep on eye on it.  TC is giving me courageto start new things .. a good feeling indeed. ..

The last few days putting magnesium gel on my heart I've had interesting dreams as well.  I hadn't connected that, Goldie, till I just read your post.  I'm sleeping better--like only waking up three or four times in the 10+ hours I'm asleep and it's easier to get out of bed.

Sounds like a good plan, Goldie! TC even gave me the courage to take a lot more B-12 this AM than I have had since the last episode I had with it, and so far I only feel weak. Just took ARA Plus and in about an hour I am going to take more Trehalose Complex. Have a good day, Goldie!!

It is near NEW MOON.. I am usually depressed by those two days.. anything I Start on full moon / I do a new project every full month / they always fail.. even though I work real determined, life just is that way..

NOW I am really hopeful, that since I am doing this having started a few days ago to plan for (my new diet plan)it will be all the right things...

I am now even more surprised that it is near empty moon, but actually supposedly that is when new projects take on the right vibes.. I sure wish it so...

ITS the TC,, I am having problems opening this thread.. I am going to make a new one.. same heading just add Thread #2.. I will recap my successes in the other thread.. I am afraid this thread will crash..

good by for now on here..

SPRING hosted the first thread by the same title.. it became so big it started to give me problems.. over 5000 visitors there.. Thanks Spring....and Dr D...

So this is a new start on Trehalose COMPLEX from Dr D.  I call it TC here ....
to differentiate it from just trehalose when it is ordered elsewhere as a better' sugar' product.

Dr D' Adamo's formula is not for children.[/u]

I take as much as 2 teaspoons a day, measured! as prescribed by Dr D.

To summarize my results as shown in the first thread...

I felt right away that something was working in my brain .. can not tell you exactly how........,
I felt mood uplifted. That has been holding for three month.
I somehow feel more courage, something I lost over my life time.
I like the taste, take a teaspoon full morning and before 3pm with grapefruit juice.  At first I was eating it spread over the whole day with grapefruit slices, but after 2 month I switched and seem to finally have enough grapefruit.
I have no more craving for caffeine, I am energized with just TC.
I seem to have gotten rid of my white tongue... the first visibly noticeable thing!
I can not take it at night or it will energies me to much and allow me to stay up til 11pm hahaha
I can mix it with any food I like to sweeten, taste is ok and a good sugar substitute.  I think buying trehalose for those who eat sugar would be a good switch.. I am diabetic so no sugar in my house.. even guest don't mind TC in coffee.  my handyman got energy from it also one lazy afternoon. haha

I have offered it to a person with onset of Alzheimer's, she had a vacant look the week before , it seems to help, she is conversing a little better, but maybe that is wishful thinking on my part, I don't know what else is being done for her.. tragic.. it came on in 6 month...

For my DIABETES and my blood sugar test, as of last weeks test, all has stayed stable , if not improved a drop.
I feel more FREE being able to think that I CAN have this SUGAR if I wish.
It does not interfere with appetite.
It can be added to any food without after taste, nor is it changing the taste of the food.

For my SKIN, I have used it by rubbing a little bit on my hands and then on my face and neck.. it seems to make the skin feel tighter, and make me look 19 again.. I wish.. but then I take just looking fresh..

THE biggest EFFECT it had over time - that my daily HEADACHES came more and more seldom.. to where NOW I only get them when I allow me to stress ME.. In fact I was able to figure out that when I stress, and my neck muscles contract before the headache starts, I can take Magnesium in Milk of Magnesia, and the muscles seem to relax and I can forgo all pills.  I have had daily 6 hours headaches for years!!!

Time to repost Dr D's first intro.. ::

http://n-equals-one.com/blogs/2011/12/22/1851/

Here are some links from the old postings:
Trehalose- Two glucose (simple sugar molecules) stuck together.
http://n-equals-one.com/blogs/2011/12/22/1851/

Reorder now and get one container free with the purchase of 2 containers.
http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HP2004

The cheap way to produce trehalose is to use enzymes to split corn starch (long chains of glucose) into two glucose units.  The expensive way is to extract it from mushrooms.

I did notice one organization selling trehalose claiming to make it from tapioca starch instead of corn starch. I do not know how Swanson product is produced. I looked on their site and could not find information, but I did not email to find out.  For what they sell it for they are not using mushrooms as a source. I imagine the cheaper a product is the more likely it is to be made from and the less likely that it is purified to remove contaminants.

I believe Dr. D has said that generally, those sugar molecules do not break apart in the human body so the effect is not the same as eating "sugar".
This is correct.  The body doesn't absorb or make very much of the enzyme (trehalose) needed to break apart the Trehalose bond to free the 2 glucose molecules.

Goldie   - that was a lot of work
all those links gives us homework - so we can catch up

Question:   Grapefruit juice -- does it need to be fresh to work with the TC?
(sometimes a fresh fruit isn't an option)

Thanks for the quick response

I think Dr D said recommends not using TC with Tea.

??  My Question about Grapefruit or Grapefruit juice:
Bottled or canned juice would be processed in some way -  if its enzymes or something only in Fresh Grapefruit that works with TC sugar a packaged product might be a waste, ineffective.
