I read it in redbook.. ha ha then I at least learned why I was what I was... 42 was a great year.. would love to tell you but its not for here.. one learns a lot in these YEARS when WE finally say : no more! I have don't this and don't need to do it again.. !!!! growing up!.. |

In spite of the systemic Candida problem that nearly wiped out twenty-five years of my life, I can truly say that in many ways it never slowed me down a whole lot. I fought the brain fog with exercise. I fought the muscle weakness with unadulterated grit - sometimes with tears streaming down my face. I think I have mentioned that I am an unusually strong person and had always been that way until Candida. So that was a hard pill to swallow. The horrendous depression was also helped by walking miles upon miles. That is when I started on the fish oil which helped tremendously, too, plus a whole gang of other supplements in addition to what I was already taking. The sad part of this was that my sons were growing up during those years, but I have never once heard either of them voice the first complaint about it..... If I described all the huge projects I have undertaken since getting rid of Candida, it would take the rest of the day!! Some of them were so hard that for a few years afterwards I would look at them and think, "Did I really do that?" Then, I got hit by the Clorox mess. So that definitely slowed me down for a year or so, but even at that I was still doing the gardening, etc., etc., which is the best remedy on the planet for me! And things are really looking up with the addition of Trehalose! |

spring you are 90 + but 45 also.. so why not at least give the decade on this site so we know what we are talking about..
as for candida.. I am of the belief that nothing can live in oil.. I wonder would taking loads of olive oil help to eradicate it?? I wonder?
what was the clorox mess you are talking about...?
As for kids not complaining ... well it is part of the cycle of 'kids' adult kids' not KNOWING right from wrong accepting way more dysfunction then they should.. Sometimes they opt for the opposite and go to the other side.. either side.. Before they actually see the need to get counseling..
that is not to make you feel bad.,.. I was in the same sickness boat when i brought up the kids.. I apologize when the time is right.. but life goes on.. being aware on your part is a good thing. much more then many who have no clue.. |

Spring,
Kudos to you for how you have addressed each health issue and healed. It is never really easy, is it. Trehalose is like a reward in my opinion. It seems to have enhanced your life to new levels as it has done for others who are adding it to their daily intake.
I am almost through my first jar and I am feeling the energetic lift I get. I am still only taking l teaspoon (a little more than level) each day. I haven't experienced what others have but that is because as we are all individuals.
Do I dare say that I have noticed a slight fading of an age spot on my right cheek just to the right of my eye socket. I do use foundation and that covers it during the day. But I've begun to notice that after I wash my face in the evening it is lighter.
This is very nice to notice and it is just one more reason to keep including Trehalose each day.
I hope we all stay motivated.

Goldie, my sons never felt deprived at all. There is nothing to apologize for in the least. They would laugh at the idea. Instead we enjoy reminiscing about the things that they had so much fun doing when they were growing up. They enjoyed more activities than any kids in their acquaintance. And I was always there for them. So, no, you are not making me feel bad! One major thing in my favor that helped me during all the things I have dealt with in my lifetime was the fact that I was able to keep my sense of humor. Sometimes barely, but it was still there. As for my age, I don't post it online unless I have to so you just have to be satisfied with the fact that I am not ninety or forty-five! Neither am I above or below those numbers! |

Thanks, very much!! Yes, Joy, I see Trehalose as a reward too! I forget to notice the outward signs of progress because I am so busy making use of the energy that I have now, besides being astonished at the improvement in my mental clarity! But I do have signs such as the lipomas going away, my eyelid staying put and many other things. It is almost like I am having to learn again how to live on an entirely different level. I was having to measure my strength and stamina for all the heavy duty stuff I was doing just a few weeks ago!! All I can say is WOW!! |

Ruthie: The brain fog should go away when you start sleeping regularly after the kids get older. As you know, exercise & good food also help!

Yes indeed the humor & being there makes all the difference. My mom was like that and I copied her for the kids I can take pleasure in now- all grown and doing well.. ... I have a 89 year old lady friend who can remember old stories to laugh about; talking to her it is like getting a tonic, an infusion of great spirit... priceless. Laughing is a good belly exercise.. I want to be like her when I am that old.

Goldie, I wonder if you would get some helpful info from the Yellow Eyes thread concerning your headaches. Especially one link PC posted is very interesting indeed. http://www.sensiblehealth.com/ |

SPRING.. I love you.. the link reminded me of all the things I once suffered with.. Thank the universe I only have headaches.. the link reminded me of : 1) I took 20 years painkillers loaded with caffeine.. that was all they had then.. 2) I am no longer drinking caffeinated coffee, TC has helped to get rid of most 'wishing' to have some.. 3) I can get rid of the headache, and I just did this hour ago, by drinking a cup of reg coffee!.. 4) it seems that TC stopped most of the rebound cycle .. so there is progress.. 5) I think my headache comes from stress Cortisol.. it starts maybe in the liver but I feel it on my left side.. like by the pancreas or the spleen... 6) I am starting to think that it is similar to a gallbladder GAS attack some people get under their right shoulder..I had it once age 45 for 1 week.. ..... I think I get 'like such' a gas pain going up on the LEFT side through the neck to the top of the scull - lasting 6 hours- the time it takes to pass something in the digestion levels from some where or some place changing the ENVIRONMENT.. ... If this sounds GREEK to you just move on 7) Emotionally this kind of pain issue is from long ago when 'seeing, sensing, or hearing' a 'respect' insult made me shutter, close down and retreat in utter frustration.. I can think of at least 3 such occasions.. the first age nearly 8 by the insensitive teacher who questioned my integrity.. ... another age 19 for the loss of a job for making 7's with a line through - not knowing then- that in the US they did not do so. A third insult at age 29 when a lawyer destroyd my trust in common decency, mistreated me for body pain stemming from on accident at 27 .. SO I guess, I could work on all these and see where I come out .. of this - headache situation.. as I experience it from the same / similar = moments of frustrations. Having no power to do something about it.. unless = I eat or drink (caffeine.) Thanks for the link. . It opened my awareness - again - I am currently studying connections of: 'where' the pain is = to what/where it 'came' from.. I need a similar link for the LEFT side of my insides.. You see I am getting closer to solve the riddle.. even if I do not have the solution yet.. Bach flowers might help.. The lessening with TC of the decades of headaches is affording me the ability to 'feel' / think / deal with them... the beginning of healing.. |

They are excellent for type A 1+. Just use the rating for regular lentils even though these are a little smaller. |

No apologies necessary at all, Santina!! Yes, Dr. D. recommends this product for everyone! My list in SWAMI says all lentils are diamonds. As you can see I am an A-Type. |

santina.. we like Trehalose Complex (TC) because it seems to make us energetic, less depressed, and strengthen some issues in all sorts of different ways..
I have fewer headaches.. less need for caffeine.. might work on some issues of eyes and my tongue is not white any more.. I am taking it for three month, one to 2 tea spoons a day on grapefruit.. or in grapefruit juice..
Don't take it close to dinner as you might not go to sleep.. it can cause some gas at the beginning.. |

I am one of the few here who had a negative reaction with trehalose. I used the Swanson brand. The first time was in Feb. and within a few hours of taking it I got the bloated stomach, gas and then diarrhea. That lasted for about a day and a half until I got it all out of my system. Tried it again, same reaction.
Since then I read information about the GAPS diet which involves eliminating all disaccharides and starches until the enterocytes in the gut wall can heal. I've always had problems with sugar and starch. The label on my trehalose described it as a multi-functional disaccharide. So now I think the GAPS diet might pave the way for me to eventually be able to use trehalose. The unfortunate thing is it can take a long time for the gut to heal. One website said it can take 6-18 months for a child and longer for an adult.
The positive results most of you have experienced are just amazing! I hope I get to enjoy the same benefits in the future. But first I have some gut healing to do! |

Karen, I certainly hope you have a quick recovery! I suppose it has very much to do with sticking with a plan that will help you do just that! Good luck to you, and I hope we get to hear a great success story from you before too long!! Spring |

Trehalose plain or Trehalose Complex? How did you use it? As a sugar or only one teaspoon as a medicine? What else is in the Swanson kind? look at all ingredients.. I am always leary of all packaged things. But no matter, I agree the gas is on issue even taking only one or two teaspoons - for a few weeks, but no more. I hope you heal your insides. All the best. |

Thanks, Spring. I need to be patient in this healing process.
Goldie, The trehalose from Swansons is 100% pure trehalose, nothing else. I took 1/2 teaspoon in grapefruit juice the first time. The last time I took it in water.
Well something just got my attention. I'm looking at the label which describes trehalose as a non-reducing disaccharide consisting of two glucose molecules. Didn't Dr. D say trehalose wasn't meant to be broken down or digested? The four main disaccharides are lactose, sucrose, maltose and isomaltose and I think the body is suppose to break them down into glucose molecules.
I might try small amounts of trehalose while avoiding all other disaccharides and starches and see what happens. |

I see Dr D as using Trehalose COMPLEX (TC) as a means to deliver D-RIBOSE.. Google both of these.. He said way above, that it is the D-Ribose that is so expensive. I personally think there will be more meds developed like this combined with Trehalose as it is a nice delivery of medicine.. a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down.. Plain T has other purposes and might affect you differently. even though we also experience the same gas.. it may serve a s a healthier sugar, and trigger blood glucose levels less.. Both items are valuable, yet it is the D-Ribose that is interesting.. I goggled D-Ribose and found 2 interesting issue.. the emphasis are my own.. (but to me it is becoming more interesting as it may not be the glucose level that tells the story but rather what happens to the Insulin within the body.. My next blood test ought to show differences.. I will report next week. for Diabetes::: In the earliest investigation of the relationship between ribose and insulin, Park, et al.1 infused either glucose, mannose, fructose, xylose, arabinose or ribose into eviscerated rats, with or without simultaneous insulin injection, for one or two hours. The accumulation of sugar in the diaphragm, heart, gastrocnemius and brain were measured and compared to baseline values. Except in the case of ribose, insulin significantly accelerated transport of sugars into muscle. Noeffect of insulin on ribose transport was observed, and this result was also found in later studies.3 No insulin effect on any sugar was seen in brain tissue suggesting carbohydrate transport into the brain is not facilitated by insulin. Increased levels of mannitol, ribose and fructose did not appear in the brain following infusion, leading investigators to conclude these sugars did not pass the blood brain barrier to an appreciable extent, and explaining why fructose does not relieve the symptoms of hypoglycemia. In the same year, Segal, et al.2 infused 10 or 20 grams of ribose over a period of 10 to 25 minutes into five fasted normal males, three diabetics, and one subject with liver disease, collecting blood for analysis every five- to 10-minutes for 90-minutes, beginning at the onset of infusion. Blood glucose levels fell in all subjects by an amount equal to 16% to 65% of pre-infusion level (i.e., decline in plasma glucose of 11 to 41 mg%). The hypoglycemic response continued for 20- to 50- minutes post-infusion, reaching its nadir at 46- to 89-minutes before returning to baseline level in an average of 115-minutes. The effect was similar in diabetics and normals. D-Ribose for : Fibromialgia, and possibly Neuropathy.. Chronic Fatigue.... http://www.endfatigue.com/web-newsletters/Newsletter_3_questions_d-ribose.html |
