Hi,
I was wondering if i mixed the protein powder with water, how long is it good/stable for?
The reason i ask is because i would like to bring a protein drink with me to the gym. will the protein degrade in anyway in an hour or two, after it's been mixed into water? |

It should be stable for hours. I used to mix mine at the gym after I finished my workout. Most important is what the protein source is. As a "O" type many sources are avoids like whey and (soy for non secretors). |

Would it possibly become better tasting or worse? or get the mushy feeling.. I wonder if one could not just put a little in a baggy or small twist cap container and mix it fresh.. BUT I Personally find DrD's powder more palatable when mixed in hot water.. it seems to dissolve a little more..
When he created that mix and trusted us to like it he was really out there in terms of believing in his followers for the O protein fans, he really went out on a limb, yet I would not ever go any where near someone else's powder. I just would not trust any to be pure, responsible to my blood type.. I trust DrD's..

I don't think it would be unsafe to drink after a couple of hours, but I don't know how that would affect the taste or texture. It might get slimy, or the texture might improve by being "less gritty."
Bear in mind, the protein powders sold on this website are pretty bland, and intended to be mixed into smoothies with other ingredients. I don't know how palatable it would be mixed with plain water.
You could experiment and let us know how it works out. I'd suggest packing it in some kind of cooker with an ice pack, and shaking before consuming. |

The protein pwder does ahve grainy texture and a very bland taste. If you whiz it in your blender, does not mix well shaken, mix with compliant juice or fruit. I used the o powder with great success in the past. due to food sensitivities ahve switched to another hoping to come back again.
I have more sensitivties than most and actually get an egg protein powder that is basic Jay Robb Unflovared egg white protein and mix it with water and crushed ice in a shaker bottle. I add Micronized creatine and glutamine to that as my stack for post work out. My prework out stack is just creatine and gltuamine. |

I've tried it with just water (stirred it with a spoon) and did find it to be bland, kind of gritty, and a bit thick. I find it drinkable, but it could taste better. The pineapple juice is a good idea.
Unfortunately, i will have to end up using warm juice since it takes me 30 minutes to drive to the gym and then an hour to workout. It sucks that the gym is so far. There's no way i'm gonna wait 30-40 minutes to consume some protein and carbs after a workout, so i have to bring the protein blend with me.
Now that it's been brought up, i might add some glutamine to the mix.
@angel or anyone else, do you think adding tyrosine to your pre-workout stack is a good idea? I mean, both glutamine and tyrosine are beneficials for type o's. tyrosine is good for dopamine right? and exercise boosts dopamine levels too? |

Don't know about tyrosine, would have to research that.
Can you bring a cooler to keep your protein shake in in your car or locker? |
