Hello, after a lot of research and taking some pretty detailed online tests I feel as though I may have a candida issue. I adhere to to BTD very closely but I am very sensitive to sugars, have unexplained issues with constipation, on again off again issues with my eyesight, never feel fully rested, etc.
I have the encyclopedia and the protocols recommended are the yeast/fungus, allergy control, and intestinal health. This amounts to buying a lot of stuff!
Has anyone had success with just the yeast/fungus protocol? This would be an easier thing for me to pull off financially than doing all the protocols at once.

Hi, Chris.
I ended up using coconut oil to do my candida cleanse. It was quite tough on my body but I am doing well.
The yeast/bacteria protocol for Os use caprylic acid which is an acid extracted from coconut oil.
You should modify your diet to eliminate sugars, high starch foods, mushrooms, and dairy (I know Os cannot really have much anyway) while you are doing the protocol and afterwards for maintenance.
I am on a low carb, high protein diet and plan on being on it for a good 2-3 months from now.
Dr. D's protocol is much gentler than my cleanse and should be as effective, if not more.
Good luck! |

Great! Thanks. How bad were your symptoms? Dr D's protocol is for six weeks and it seems to be one of the shortest regimens I've seen. I'm wondering if this will resolve my problems. |

I had eye allergies which were so bad, I could barely keep them open, sinusitis (about 3 weeks out of the month), IBS (alternating diarrhea and constipation), acid coming up after eating wheat based foods, brain fog, memory problems, learning problems (forgot vocabulary words I used to know), toenail fungus starting up (thought it was a poor pedicure job), itchy and irritated scalp, needing to sleep up to 20 hours a day, and the list goes on. It was pretty severe. I describe all of it on my thread (along with the cleanse): http://www.dadamo.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1310651867/Let's say I almost had to drop out of grad school because it was so bad. |

Do you know your secretor status Chris? Coconut oil is an avoid for O secretors, but neutral for O non-secretors. If you're able to have coconut oil, it may help with the candida cleanse. (Consuming an oil that's an "avoid" for you isn't likely to promote healing, so don't use coconut oil if you're a secretor or if your'e not sure.) |

Search bladderwrack and yeast or candida on this site. |

This would be an easier thing for me to pull off financially than doing all the protocols at once.
I do not think the intention is that you do all the protocols at once. Instead try one protocol for 6 weeks and then try a different protocol for 6 weeks. Also it is not necessary to take all the items listed in a protocol at the same time. |

passionprincess, that sounds terrible! I'm glad you are doing better.
I have yet to learn my secretor status but I will probably do that soon.
Has anyone had success fighting candida with the protocols? I'm just looking for some opinions on this.
I'm leaning towards just doing the yeast/fungus one and seeing how that goes. |
