I'm pretty sure I need to do something like this. Well, I think I need to at least address them a little bit. My BM's have been moving well, but very consistently floating and light in color. And I have a feeling parasites are part of the picture. My doctor and assistant are very into cultured foods to address this, but for some reason I'm having a "I don't want them right now" feeling. I have ate them for two years or more and have seen good things, but for some reason I just feel like no on that right now. Like I need something else. And maybe I just need to give it some time and see what happens. Joe has told me I might try to do too much at once. I'm killing lyme bacteria currently with a homeopath and feel like it's making headway, and I'm supplementing for my immune system and I think it's all helping. But I'm antsy. And the sight I see every morning (floating BM) is disconcerting. Maybe I just need to wait and see what happens, but it's been kind of consistent for a while now. With some relief. I don't think it's enzymes because I feel like I have those balanced. I take those with meals.
So, I'm open to some suggestions. Some intrinsa might be a good idea, as I'm not eating dairy and maybe that's part of the problem. I don't know. I don't need gastro-d.
If somebody has some good ideas on parasites, I'm all ears. Especially maybe something like tea or something.

Hi JJR, I have no idea what would be useful, but I am sure others on the board will be very helpful (as usual). I'm just curious to know, why is floating BM nog good?

I have only dabbled in this, and have stopped while i try a gentler blood type protocols. but just getting used toit and so many issues at the mo what with blood clot and all.
but here is a link which is good but bear in mind that although the chap recommends a blood type diet he does not distinguish a different plan for each just one fits all. although it seems to work it could be better if you put a blood type slant on it perhaps.
things like bicarb seem fine for o's but not sure for ab's. good luck

I just noticed this site posted by Dr D not sure if its relevant to your problems but his posts are alway interesting and I find i always come back to them when I've learnt more.
I had a boyfriend who starting feeling very ill; he was tired all the time and very rundown. After a while he actually saw parasites in his stool so he took a blackwalnut tincture every day for just a couple weeks and never had any more trouble with it. It probably depends on the specific parasite(s) you're dealing with (or if parasites are really the problem), but it worked for him.
I wonder if this is why I crave nuts so much. I love them.

someone once recommended this metagenics prod that has the black walnut and strong oils like cinnamon & thyme; if you have them, the idea is to make your internal environment hostile toward the parasites - the strong plant oils drive them out
JJR I too, have parasites in my system at current. My naturopath has put me on a product called "Detox" by Fusion Health http://www.fusionhealth.com.au I have only been on them for 2 weeks....I guess time will tell! Maybe give them a go...

I guess it's just an indicator of things not working correctly. Dr.D has written about Alkaline Phosphatase or IAP and I believe has said that floating stool is a sign of a low levels of this in the gut. I think it's something more and the popular opinion is it could mean parasites or that type of a thing.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE); 15 drops in a glass of water, 3 times daily, on an empty stomach (before meals) for two weeks or so
(Especially since your Nomad); several tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil divided over the day.
In addition you indeed may want to do one of the parasite cleanses sold over the internet (e.g. Humaworm, or DrClark's)
Then finally; don't forget to liberally supplement with probiotics and eat lots of fermented (non-avoid) foods; especially once you've finished the GSE

I wasn't thinking about GSE; that stuff is crazy powerful! There is some controversy about it's safety, but I have only heard of one instance of it causing someone problems.
Last night I took about 1/8 or a little more of something called "proto-clenz" by Best of Health. It's a local place in Wi. It has a lot of garlic, grapefruit extract, slippery elm, cranberry extract, and guar gum. This morning was the first time in a while that my bm didn't float. And it was darker.
So........ Here I was thinking I can't have too much oil. No wonder I'm starving.
I probably need a good parasite cleanse. But I have to wait until my in laws are gone. They're coming to stay this week starting Saturday, and they take as much energy as I have. Which isn't much. So, herxing wouldn't be a good thing.
I'll tell you something else I've noticed. I've noticed that during the phases of the moon where there is none at all, it seems like I have more problems. And then sometimes when it's full. But I think I've noticed the lack of a moon mess with more than the full moon.

I just read yesterday that parasites are "moon creatures" that are more active during a full moon. I thought that sounded strange, but if you're noticing the moon affects things...who knows. I'll look for that webpage, and see if I can find it again.
here's something about it from a forum. I didn't read through it so sorry if it ends up being of no use, but it looked like the first post at least mentioned some possible remedies for parasites
You shouldn't do a parasite cleanse until you know for sure if you have parasites. There are tests. Peoples selling parasite cleanses are a big money making scam

The stool test I did 2 years ago showed I had some activity. I believe. I'd have to pull that test out again to double check. Plus, the fact that my doctor is treating me for lyme is probably a good indication. An ND I used to go to said the babesia/malaria came up on his biofeedback test a little over 2 years ago. Which I believe is a protozoa or like a parasite. Plus, there are probably other bacteria that don't even have names. I'm pretty confident I have invaders in my gut and have had for some time now. How to deal with them best, for me, is more of the question. In my humble opinion.
Amazone, I do have Olive Leaf extract also. I was taking that stuff daily at one time.

Yeah, it shows some have higher activity at the new moon also. THANKS!!!

JJ, I haven't read this whole thread, but I don't believe you necessarily have to "test positive" to do a cleanse. Take some herbs, flush yourself out, and see what happens. You don't have to spend a lot of money doing it.
My aunt tells me that "back in the day" everybody did cleanses twice a year because it was a well-known fact that during the winter and during the summer, you pick up critters. So they routinely did herbal cleanses.
I think it's a great idea whether you've got parasites or not. Pinworms are extremely common.
I'm too embarrassed to admit my own experience here (you can call me and I'll tell you), but I will mention my son's experience. At 12 months old he woke up every single hour during the night fussing and squirming and miserable. It was driving me crazy because I was still dealing with the postpartum depression as well as undiagnosed Lyme, and that's never a good thing to combine with being woken up at least every hour. Even people in foreign countries performing torture routines on captured soldiers won't put them through what I've been through with sleep deprivation. At any rate, some blessed soul suggested a homeopathic de-worming thing, and I tried it out of desperation. Within a few days he passed what looked like rice but I assume was pinworms. And then he started sleeping.

Oh, you and I walk a similar path. It's just weird. No sleep, lyme. Pretty soon you're going to tell me we're related.
And I appreciate your input. I agree wholeheartedly.

You'd be surprised. When Jack was having all his fits in the middle of the night, I was the one who got up with him most of the time. I took that on myself. I wanted to let Elizabeth sleep. Somebody had to do it.
What did you give your son for the parasite cleanse?

I can't remember. I was that sleep deprived. I've given them a couple of different things over the years. Homeopathic, herbal....The herbs give them terrible runs, so I try to avoid them. The homeopathic stuff seems to work, but I have trouble remembering to give them the drops. If I only had a brain.....

My chiro was saying he's used homeopathics for parasites also. Interesting. I didn't know there was ones. Although the C&H I was taking for a long time was a homeopath for Crypto and H.Pylori.
