Is it OK to megadose folic acid and methyl B12? Dr. D'Adamo's anti-aging book recommends folic acid for O's to slow down aging, and - since there is no toxicity to folic acid - I was thinking of taking it at very high doses. Also in the case of methyl B12, It is great for increased energy at very high doses. It is similar to what Linus Pauling recommended for vitamin C. What are your thoughts? Is it a problem that B12 gets stored in the liver over time? It might be a nice and affordable way of adding years to your life, and life to your years. |

Welcome to the forums Christopher!
What kind of "megadoses" are you talking about? My B-50 complex contains 50 micrograms of B-12, which is 833% of what the FDA thinks is a good daily amount. I've taken two of these on stressful days. That's over a thousand times the RDA for that nutrient, but still only 100 micrograms. Taking something like a whole gram of the stuff might be toxic.
You also want to be careful what your vitamins are sourced from. Most ascorbic acid is made from corn, so I don't consume it anymore. I use rose hips for my vitamin C, and in way smaller doses than Linus Pauling reccomends. |

I would not do anything much other then keeping my weight in normal range.. then add the protocols suggested in the Encyclopedia for whatever, and after they each are finished one after the other then I LOOK AT whole fresh FOOD as the way to healthy long life and good looks..
I am dropping weight, that within less then 3 weeks added years of health to my body. I dropped my blood sugar to normal, I dropped my pulse 40 beats and I expect good results on Monday for cholesterol / triglycerides..
UNLESS you have on inability to absorb B12 I would say stay away from it.. You are O, If you eat meat you will get enough to keep you well. If you are not absorbing then maybe a good juice program might loosen up the gunk inside your large intestines.. the place you absorb vit B is on your left side right under the bend downwards of your large colon.. massage the area.. and move things along.. Ever done a real clean out all the way to the appendix? google Dr. Bernard Jensen, Calema.. doing this will keep you young and vibrant. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |

Not a bad idea. Folic acid, especially, is very important for hunters. |

Sometimes the small dose is even more effective as it can perturb the system just enough. Possibly dosing then stopping for a few days may work even better.
Read about biphasic doses response.
In homeopathy you find that the tiny dose is the most effective.

There is the concept of using something therapeutically if you have been too low for too long-- to build the system back up. |
