Hi,

I just found out that Phyto Protein( Pea Protein Isolate) has a sweetner inside called thaumatin. I want to know if this is good for me or not. Is it the same as stevia? Where would I look it up?

Thanks

It is not the same as stevia.

Stevia is a leaf.

Thaumatin is fruit extract.

One source of info:

hasn t been tested, so consider neutral, unless a noticeable reaction to it

Well I dont feel that great after I have the Chocolate Phyto Protein. Trying to figre out whats its from. Peas are beneficial for me so I'm guessing its from the Thaumatin. If thats the case I'll get the original which has none inside.

Thanks

Dr Doadamo, please feel free to test it

Thaumatin is not a chemical, its a sweetener and he has tested other sweeteners such as Stevia...so I dont see why he couldn't test this one. I too, would like to know whether it's an avoid. I have been on the Vanilla Pea Protein and have just stopped as I think my body is reacting to it. Back to the original flavour

I seem to have less need for sugary stuff then wishing for fruit.. why not eat fruit?

here to add sugary stuff?? I really don't see the value in it.. and I like sweet..

stevia to me tastes like soap.. I would rather eat what I need then add altered foods in any form.. the only exption would be in fresh made juices where I am sort of concentrating much more sugar in a glass.. but I can control how much vegetable juice I wish to cut the sugar with..

coffe and drinks .. once suffered through a few weeks without sugar, will accustom you to the NEW taste and all will be well..

for Os use coca powder in hot water as often as needed.. or Cynamon..

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

go natural,
thaumatin is simply another word for processed sweetener,
the food industry is not concerned about your wellness, it s up to us to make the right choices

as a general rule, I simply do not buy anything processed

depending on your susceptibility, to each their own
