I usually take flax oil but also alternate with hemp oil. I just bought this Canadian brand of hemp oil and they have a good write-up on balancing Omega 6 with Omega 3. It's good information to know about the oils:

new to this part of the diet omega 3 and 6 ratios, but i have read recently that the best source is from fish oils, perhaps i 'm mistaken i read so much . or maybe it's different for each blood type.
i take a fish oil supplement from Dr D's supps. explorer
that site sure sells a lot of hemp stuff , so perhaps not the best place to information on hemp. lol

A book I was just reading last night said that chia seeds are SUPER high in omega 3's. And yes, fish, and red meats and butter from the good, grass fed red meats like lamb I think are all high in omega 3's.
And yes flax is too I guess. But why are they saying hemp is so much better? I don't understand. It is a diamond superfood for me, and I may be interested in trying this. I've never tried it yet.

I would also like to note that flax is not recommended for everyone. I believe there is a study floating around somewhere that shows that flax actually increases the risk of a certain cancer (I believe prostate) in some people.

The concentrations are not even close; the difference is night and day. Still, my mind is open to a better source if you have one.

I actually prefer eating freshly ground flax raw, rather than soaked. It also seems to have a more healing effect on my system when I don't soak them. Strange but true.
A health expert that I follow says that eating some raw, unsoaked nuts/seeds increases the amount of trypsin and chymotrypsin, which is good for cancer prevention. Read the book Knockout: A One-Two-Punch to Cancer Prevention.

Different strokes for different folks. Some people lack the ability to convert ALA. Fish oil contains DHA and EPA which ALA is a precursor for. I seriously wonder if this tendency is lacking in type O and part of why O's can do poorly on a vegan diet.Brain fog, etc. Just me thinking aloud, probably a bit too reductionist. CLA from grassfed meat has done wonders for my O hubby. He's on the fish oil, too. Essential Fatty Acids are so important.
I'm actually on krill. Just now incorporating flax in the membrane fluidizer cocktail (having to do with phase angle). Read an article that ALA may release mercury but not necessarily give it a way to exit and it can be redeposited elsewhere. Think I will load up on some cilantro and perhaps some Harmonia after. I am probably using too much flax seed according to that article and will cut back a bit, but I'm having great results. My skin for the first time in my life is not dry...I was using Krill Oil for a few years and can honestly say it didn't seem to make any difference to my skin. Not arguing for one over the other, just saying. I agree with AKartlover maybe we absorb or convert differently....for I'm sure any number of reasons, which appears to be the case for me.
I have so many sensitivities that I often can't take supplements, even though they don't have certain allergens, I still seem to react to something... Anyway I'm very happy with the results that I'm getting from milling my own organic flax seeds. I make it into a cereal, with a bit of honey and enough water to make it the consistency that I like, and I love it...

If I am looking to consume an oil besides EVOO or rice bran oil - which I currently use both of - and my SWAMI rates oils of: flax, hemp, cod liver & evening primrose as diamonds, which do I go for if I have an ovarian endometrinoma cyst...?
Currently consume allot of nuts and Aromastat / Fem Balance (which I am unsure if it is an aromatase inhibitor or not.)

I can't find hemp oil on the food base or the encyclopedia. can someone point me in a direction for this as i would like to know if it okay for various blood type please
perhaps in america it's not available, but it is over here in the uk.

Thanks didn't know you could cook with it although I mainly use my allowance of oils in my basil and garlic pesto. and my one egg a day cooked in a teaspoon of ghee.
