and you're right about the calcium...I specifically asked my ND if I should be taking calcium along with mag and he said Nope! |

It's difficult to pinpoint one nutrient as the cause given this sounds more like nerve pain...Nerves require a balance of minerals as well as many other nutrients, it's also possible you have a deficiency in a B vitamin. B12 is a possibility.
Are you taking any supplements for your blood type?
I have been eating for my BT for almost two years without any supplements. I just started really getting into the supplements here this week. For ma and for my daughter Katie who has bad acne. I have just today started magnesium and D3. I picked up B5 for my daughter, and have wondered about the B vitamins for myself....Would love your thoughts. |

OK, I'll stop taking the oral calcium for now. My vitamin D levels were slightly too high at my last blood test, so low vitamin D levels aren't a CURRENT problem.
Do you think the caffeine in green tea and yerba mate are problematic?
I think I'll try to rotate which body parts get the mag oil spray, to detox all over my body. It doesn't itch/burn so much on my belly anymore, after using it there for a few days (and using the epsom salts spray there for weeks) but it was very uncomfortable on my legs. In fact, it's STILL itchy where I sprayed it about an hour ago. |

Nadizzle I've been battling acne for almost a year now (had it mildly as a teen but pretty badly now, not huge ones but mainly deep ones along my jaw that you can't see but they hurt terrible, and then little tiny bumps that almost look like a rash). I tried the mag oil on my face last night and I'm going to keep trying it. I actually got really good results from doing a Milk of Magnesia mask on my face once a day and then at night dabbing a little of it if I had a big one. I found that online about three weeks ago and immediately started doing it. My pores look beautiful when I wash it off. I think the mag oil will be much better than the milk of magnesia. I'll let you know in a week or so if it works for me. |

oh forgot to add, I know this should be on the acne thread, sorry. My sisters both have BAD acne...not the kind I had as a teen, but actual acne with scarring, and they both take mag citrate for it, and it clears them right up. That's mainly why I started taking it. |

A couple sprays a day is fine Ruthie. You need to slowly add it and build it up in your system. Just because you need it doesn't mean you should spray it over your entire body. The tingling means you are deficient and you should dilute it half and half at least while you build it up in your system. Also remember that with adding more magnesium you can and should take more calcium, boron, phosphorus, C and D3. To compliment it and build all those bone building and body strengthening nutrients into your system. So much to do... baby steps.
I have been reading this entire thread with interest. Would you be willing to recommend an entire protocol? I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and am interested in finding ways to lower it naturally. Also, I am now on bio-identical hormones because I am pretty estrogen and progesterone deficient. Personally, I think the hormones are messing with my blood pressure, cholesterol, you name it! I will purchase the magnesium oil. How about your recommendations for calcium, boron, phosphorus, C and D3. I have some D3 drops that I have been taking. I also have Systemic C 500 MG by Source Naturals. I have had trouble with calcium in the past, upsetting my stomach. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I also do have Dr. D's vitamin and mineral supplements. I decided to go off all the supplements when I introduced the bio-identical hormones two weeks ago, just to get an idea of if they are working or not. I was taking so many supplements that I wanted to give my body a chance to respond to the hormones only. As my symptoms subside on the bio-identicals, I will begin to re-introduce other supplements. |

Magnesium and D3 are both good, but if you can afford to do this, consider the Blood type multi vitamin and mineral formula for type B because it will supply the correct amount of B vitamins Dr. D believes would be best for you. http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BT006Bhttp://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=BT008B |

Yes Patty, eat the rinds. Your BP will drop significantly in several hours, especially if you drink some water with it. One could even argue eating just the rinds. Avoids all the fructose of the meat. |

Thank you, Mark. My mother loves watermelon and is 92, as I mentioned above. I should listen to her more often I will buy some next time I go to Wholefoods. I assume I should eat organic only? Is it difficult to get organic watermelon this time of year? Does the drop in BP last or is it just for a short time? Do I need to eat it every day? Any more detail you can provide would be greatly appreciated, Mark. Thanks! |

Sensitive teeth and gum disease can also be because of a lack of Co enzyme Q10.
Using mag oil to brush with is great. But brushing with it and taking it orally as a capsule aren't really the same thing. The capsule doesn't break apart until it hits the stomach acid, whereas if use the mag oil on your teeth and gum it will absorb through the walls of the mouth. I'm not suggesting that you swallow the mag oil that you use to brush your teeth with. |

Patty without meeting with you in person and getting a full health history I would not recommend a full health protocol. For supplements the best are the ones you will find here with Dr D. Anything extra, that is up to you to source out. It all comes down to people becoming their own health practitioner. I really want to train people to take care of themselves. Take ownership. Also, I would never want to recommend something and have someone come back and say it was wrong for them because I wasn't able to get a full health picture of them. With phosphorus and boron they can be found as supplements also. One company that I've found it with is http://www.truehope.com - I suggest researching the info they have on this site. Their bone mineral supplement is what I take to get my phosphorus and boron with calcium. It does have magnesium in it also. But I figure a bit more probably won't hurt. lol Just keep researching and become your own health professional. No one should ever know you body better than you. If you have any questions just keep coming onto the forum and asking. There are so many people willing to help. |

Thank you, Christa. I am doing that. Working on the hormones at the moment. I totally understand. I need to make it my own. However, it is great to have the wealth of information available here and I appreciate anything that is shared. Please know I always do my own research after I receive any recommendations. That is important to me. Otherwise, I may not buy into the program . . . |

This is the second time I have heard about dry body brushing . . . my naturopath asked if I did that on an intake form, and frankly I had no idea what she was talking about . . . so much to learn. Lola, do you have a particular body oil that you buy and add lavendar? My skin is terribly dry. This lovely ritual sounds like something that would be beneficial to me. |
