Wow, rumors run rampant.  In my former life I used to work with off shore producers a lot.  If you do your process correctly, you should have spec'd out all of the items within the product you are producing, you should receive preproduction samples which you test rigorously, make changes as required, log those changes, then production samples, approve those then go into production.

While your goods are in production, you take samples as required and test them at separate labs. I preferred to either be on site for production to ensure all goods were made in house or have a staff member do all inspections for the whole production time so no funny business can arise.

Walmart sets their price points of what product they want Landed, Duty Paid.  The contractors work within those constraints of $$$$.  So what happens is the quality suffers.  I never buy anything from Walmart as the raw materials that go into their products suffers because of the final price point Walmart wants.

If is expensive getting product made in China if you do it correctly by testing all preproduction samples and of course having feet on the ground and testing all production raw materials and final production goods.  So, when companies are not willing to go through the testing they can save massive amounts of money by not setting appropriate production standards at the start of meetings. Therefore, substitutes can be made when no one is looking.

Does anybody buy from Ceres? If you check their website (or talk to them) re made in China, they are very defensive of their Chinese made products... Anybody know how good/trustworthy the info re Ceres food made in china really is? The flax I applied topically & reacted sooo badly to, was sourced from there

Well apparently the flax has cross contamination with soy?? I wonder why only soy? If it was a case of being processed on equipment used for other things, surely it would be used for more than soy & flax & this wasn't ground linseed? I think I will have to follow this up further, as I had only just woken up when they rang back this morning...

I resesearched where D-Mannose is manufactured because I needed it to cope with recurring urinary tract infections.  It is made in 6 factories in China and 1 factory in Russia.  When contacting "brand" companies the most frequent answer I got was that they buy from varied factories depending on the market.

I absolutely believe that you cannot trust any one brand to provide you with all supplement ingredients that are pure and healthy.  (Now I suppose people will write and tell me I'm all wrong.  But remember, I said "I BELIEVE", not "I know")

The ideal is to take no supplements but eat only whole foods, organic whenever possible.  Unfortunately some of us are old and just plain can't hold enough real food to get all of the nourishment we need, so we are stuck taking things that may help or may make us sick.

6 years on ER BTD, went from sick and dying to healthier And 30 pounds slimmer.

Dec 2013: Started Swami Xpress - I'm 48% Explorer with hybridized Explorer/BTD list. A new adventure for this old lady!  -- LOST 5 more pounds on SWAMI!
