Any information on L-Carnitine for A's?  It's supposed to be very good for heart health and fat metabolism.  I take the liquid form from Vitamin Shoppe first thing in the morning and I feel much more energy through out the day.

Sounds like a wonder drug!  I googled it and found this concerning its availability in Canada . . . someone was asking why it wasn't available in Canada . . .

"L-carnitine is not banned in Canada.  It is only available with a doctor's prescription.  The reason is because by definition in section 2 of the Food and Drugs Act, it is considered a drug (also read Schedule F).  As far as I can find out there are a couple reasons why it was moved from on-the-shelf to prescription use only:

1.  It was abused by bodybuilders and people trying to lose weight, since if taken in large amounts it can make you lose weight rapidly therefore it can be used as a treatment or prevention of obesity and subsequently classified as a drug.

2.  It can be used as a treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and because it is a "medical treatment" it must be classified as a drug and only a doctor can prescribe it to a supervised patient."

l carnitine is in the process of being returned to supplement status again in Canada...the official reason above is a cover for the real reason...it was an election promise to the drug company that funded our present Health Ministers last run for office...only one drug company can produce l carnitine here in Canada

if you go to your local health food store in Canada...some of them carry it behind the counter and if you ask discreetly you can get some.

small doses of L Carnitine are good for people 40 and above

Sounds like Canada's drug enforcment is just like the US's FDA. Bought out by Big Pharma..Money sure talks.

It makes you lose weight faster?  I should increase my dosage!!    I take two teaspoons in the morning. I feel it when I take in first thing on an empty stomach. I have energy all day from it. Sure hope it's "A" ok!

I'm pretty sure I remember that it's recommended for 'A's in LR4YT, although my copy is currently in storage, so I cannot say for sure. I was taking it myself for a while, but gave up after a couple of months (due to expense, and the amount of supps I was consuming).

Let go of resistance; feel appreciation for what is, and eagerness for what is coming.

Yep.  It's an amino acid that helps your body pull fat into the cells.  When I came back from mayo last fall and was feeling awful and weak, I can say it was probably one of the most important supplements I took at the time.  I was off of it for a while and now back on.  I take it in Capsule form from Pure Encapsulations.  But it is referred to as Acetyl-L-Carnitine. I hope it helps me like it did last time, and I think it is.  Although my test showed deficiencies in many amino acids, so it's not the only one I'm on.

I would think it would be beneficial for A's because the lower capability of breaking down meat.  Etc etc.

It's strange, when I was on it, it seemed to help me put weight back on.  By allowing the fats to be assimilated.
