If anybody's trying rhodiola or a NAP product with it, I'm curious about when you're finding it best to take (and also I should ask for reference how much you take). Morning and afternoon? Some other schedule? What do you notice? Thanks.

I recommend especially for the O's 150mg's as a monopreparat or in the morning or evening, in tougher people, or twice times a day........instead of SSRI's muuuuch better .....

but only 150 mgs per day total, Isa? I ask because I may be one of those" toughies"....I have trouble sleeping more than 5 hr a night and there's a buildup and then I get real insomniacal......

If you're saying you get a buildup of adrenaline, etc., just possibly could be worth looking into GABA as a before-bed supplement for when the other things just don't cut it.

hmm dearle, I hear always from those who took the Rhodiola, : ouch it makes me sooo tired...better to stop immediately made me a bit ..huh...what... but I gave this stuff merely to O's who have had tendencies to burst...or going over the borders.... (ahem .....a bit heavier......for some )

for insomnia perhaps you might try to take some 100mg's of l'theanine to get better relaxed, round 17 o'clock....and then just before bedtime  some valerian....no......

and if so, for your toughyness you might take one Rhodiola in the morning and one after lunchtime....or just a bit later....but then no l'theanine......what might be fine as well, in cases of depression and O's, is the aminoacid Sam-e.......but here the amounts are really variable.....

great info! thanks, Isa! What I mean about the "build up" is the build up of sleep loss....if that makes sense...my nervous system, if I get overtired just cannot rid itself of ....well can't let go....I just stay awake...it happens when I am overtired and it may be the adrenal thing that Italybound has been referring to....the adrenals kick in for a second shift......

Sure. By the way, I would try it when it's still not super super late. I'd be a little afraid to take it at 3 or 4am as I think it could delay or thwart the hormones/neurotransmitters that one actually needs in order to wake up... so one might feel depleted when waking.

as I mentioned in another thread I tried Gaba as well on O's but with merely 0- results......and just you, the toughy guys are very  hard to get down.... so what does that mean....go for a journey of healthy guided  relaxation f.ex.: by musclerelaxation by Jacobson, or Schulz, called *autogenes training* here you are learning to create alpha waves by yourself as well and for me the autogene training was from greatest benefits when I couldn't go for a good sleep  ....I know this as well .....
You've to calm down and to let go from pushing yourself up to highspeed, we are able to do that immediately, I see that it has something to do with flight and fight reactions which might be celebrated constantly because of the internal fears not being able to flee out of the upcoming *virtual* cage ...........or not being able to manage the uprising situations??....huh......

Sam-e is fine too, äääh have an eye into Riso's or Keirsey's typograms....and see what is the real background of our internal fears.....go to the ground and lurk for de-knotting em ....I love Don Richard Riso's enneagram sooo much because he shows you the real causa for your behaviour, and how ...hey you the O's...this is mostly your keyword *how* to get ride off such behaviouristical traps
..... I only can recommend to each of us to take the time for getting into deeper learnings how
to handle our sometimes very hard selfinflicted situations .......

p.s.
for me, as being an intp it is very, very important to *understand* until the deepest cell of my body, what's going on or happening...or has happened...if so I can turn of my intellect and I got it...so I can allow myselve to go on, but not before I'd understood it.....what does that mean...a huge timeloss and mostly all is over when I am goind to decide for whatsoever...... those patterns might be mortal for us....sometime ........
